this was a good trade and i will tell u why.
the suns arent going to win a championship with there style or personnel its just that simple. there style is good for 50-55 wins a year and getting deep into the playoffs but they routinely get killed on the boards and arent at all good defensivley. with shaq at center amare can move to the PF his natural positon and not have to worry about guarding the other teams center which he struggles to do. shaq will give them rebounding, shot blocking......

I love Shaun Marion but this is probably the best thing for him... everyone already knew he wanted out and nobody would have given him $15 M a year he's not a #1. Joe Johnson's a perfect example. Shaq is great for the Suns - we finally have a big man who can get boards and challenge Timmy Duncan. Offensive rebounds for the number one scoring team in the game = total dominance. Two veteran MVP's, up and coming Amare, Hill plus Bell plus Barbosa... oh yeah... looking forward to some great games!

Phoenix needed to make this trade. Shawn Marion is a great player; one of the best Suns ever. However, Amare and Shawn couldn't coexist, competing for scoring-rights since Amare's draft. Shaq brings a new demension to Phoenix. It is clear the Suns cannot win with their former line-up. I think Shaq was fed up in Miami, didn't like the management, and butted heads with Pat Riley. When they started to suck, he stopped playing. I hope Shaq doesn't prove me wrong but I believe in a second-wind.
