i was in Canun when this happened i was 9 when this happened and it seemed like we were stuck in our hotel room for weeks even though it was 3 days we were stuck there an extra week because of the storm!

Well...I was in the real Cancun too and not the Hotel zone. Cancun downtown is where the worse part was. I wish no one have to go trought this anymore cause was a nightmare. We survive the strongest hurricane in history!

helllo just searched this i was in the riu cancun hotel and i was there when this happened .me and my family were taken to a shelter with the reps and then after 3 days i think we were told the army was taking us to a school in the outskirrts where we said for a coupl of days and oh my days was it all crazy quite scary if im honest anyways iv got sum footage too of the beach that was swept away and sum petrol stations that had been blwon down anyway just wanted to say

Incredible damage. I was on the Mayan Riviera in September 2008. No visible damage left. I stayed at the Ocean Coral and Turquesa by H10. It was a completely new resort. The previous property was washed away by Wilma.

Beautiful property. We had a bartender, Alfredo, that made our holiday. Take care of him (tips) and you will be a happy camper.

I flew over this terrible storm on my way back from Argentina... thought everything I remembered in Mexico left that black night... I returned and Mexico recovered well. God blessed it.

Estuve la semana pasada y la playita enfrente del Forum by the Sea esta totalmente llena de piedras muy dificil nadar ahi sin que te lleves un golpe..la belleza sigue y seguira siendo impactante ojala rellenen esa zona con arena como todo lo demas que qudo afectado por el huracan

despeus de ese huracan las playas desaparecieron ya no hay playas en cancun ahora en al actualidad solo piedras y mas piedras no se a que vienen los extranjeros a estos lugares cada dia mas feos.

Para italianopellicanoita; deberias darte una vuelta antes de opinar, las playas fueron muy afectadas pero hoy dia contamos con unas de las mejores del mundo. Esto no lo digo yo, ya que trabajando en Tiempo compartido, platico con decenas de extranjeros al mes y los comentarios de gente que viaja por todo el mundo son Como Cancun no hay otro (yo agregaria que Punta Cana Rep. Dominicana no esta nada mal). Mi querido italianopellicanoita a callar su boquita y echar su mala vibra a otra parte.

lo que se me ase mas sorprendente es que esto los mayas ya lo tenian previsto, pues la ciudad se recupero muy rapido la zona hotelera se compuso casi en su totalidad 2 meses despues, y lo que si tardo en recuperarser fueron las zonas marginadas.

Great video!! Bought back much emotion, There were 11 of us family members who chose to stay in one hotel room to ride out the 36 hr storm! We were stuck in Cancun for a week after the hurricane.

I was in Hurricane Wilma. We had to stay in the shelter at the Copa Cabana. After the storm, there was a HUGE line we had to stand in for about..hm..4 hours. Just thought I'd let you know.
