The sad thing is that its the bootleg stuff that really showcases Led Zeppelin in their full Live glory. Their official releases, whilst good really do not explain to todays masses why Zep were THE live band of the 70's and the very reason why they conquered the world!!!
This cover alone - probably conceived as an afterthought or spur of the moment - sounds better than anything out today or in the last 15 years......Plant's powerful, high and primal singing.....Bonham's heavy drumming, brilliant fills and timing.....wow, these guys were just untouchable.
@JOEZEPPI1968 In that case, everytime you play another bands song on the guitar, its stolen too. Its not stealing if your covering a song live. If Zep recorded it, released it on Zep Physical Graffitti and said it was written and arranged by them, then yeah...your argument is valid. But...its not!
@JOEZEPPI1968 no dumbass its not like his house will just be there untouched when he dies. the stuff will go to other members and family who will release it to make money off him, it always happens.
LOL. It was something special that night that half the audience was probably too baked or drunk to remember which is tragic. Listen to stand by me from their 10.09.72 concert take on stand by me/time of the season.
@myse1f No he owns it all it wouldn't be because of a contract. It's most likely because of the audio and problems remastering it, etc. But you never know.
Look in each Led Zep, you have to notice Plant is not singing in the same way, but you know it's him!
No Quarter, Kashmir, Four Sticks, The Song Remains The Same... Plant does not sound the same in all of the songs I have mentioned, and etc, you can continue with all songs!
incredible? sure. and no one played it like zeppelin. so quit being a fun killer. my comment got 4 thumbs up so i'm pretty sure i've got a few people that agree with me. this is a great video so stop being a drainer.
The name "The Nobs" was used in 1969 when, after seeing the Led Zeppelin I album cover, Eva Von Zeppelin threatened to pull one of their concerts off the air. they quickly changed the name of their band to "The Nobs" to evade a lawsuit.
Bonzo sings the first bit. "i'd like to turn your attention to john bonham..."
Bonzo was the backup singer of the band. He sings the harmony bits to bron yr aur and the ocean. Theres a clip of jpj singing somwhere and it seems as if his voice is the one instrument he cant master...
Do you have access to their cover of Hearbreak Hotel during the Whole Lotta Love medley? I have wanted to hear that since How the West Was Won came out.
yeah but on this show for othafa plant sang louder its the only version ive heard where he actually like screams out the lyrics rather than just singing them softer
This is fantastic! thanks very much for posting this, I think it would be grand if like 'How the West Was Won' was rereleased with 'Louie Louie'/'Everyday Poeple', JPJ's organ solo, 'Thank You' and 'Communication Breakdown' as bonus tracks, does anyone agree?
Actually, I just got a hold of a book detailing every show ever played by Zeppelin and while I believe that's Plant at the beginning, it says Page sings backup vocal on this song.
Only if I was born a good 30/40 years earlier :/

@brandontylerkaiser he doesn't own the rights to these songs. he'd have to okay it with the songwriters; which is a process, to say the least.

nfsfreak72> Wasn't that in 1970 in Denmark?
It's just plain wrong that they didn't release it on How The West. Probably contractual problems.

No, it's all Robert Plant singing!
He has a special skill of changing his voice!
Look in each Led Zep, you have to notice Plant is not singing in the same way, but you know it's him!

Ooo! Sorry!
Page is also singing the backup voice...
He can sing, just check out his song where he sings, pl;ay bass and guitar: She Just Satisfies!...
He's not in the range of Plant, but still... He can sing, not like me...

Those illustration of the band look weird. The most normal looking one is the Robert Plant one. and the John Paul Jones one just looks fucked up!

The five chord is actually minor. Google louie louie chords.
z1freerider 3 years ago
It'll work either way. Play it with power chords and add some killer lead to it and it'll sound good.

the V minor is the secret everybody seems to forget
