this happened sat the19th not friday. i was there and witnessed the rescue. I know the pilot who called 911 from the air. The pilot is a female and was ok when we went to the hospital. Hope she is out of the hospital now. Pilots, avoid that section when flying at Cape lookout...if new in the area, check it out first.. salute to the coast guards and to other pilots!!!
i haven't seen The Guardian, but this did actually happen. I witnessed the rescue on the beach yesterday. It was an amazing work by the coast guard - I hope that she is having as much success with her recovery.
