i'm pretty sure Jeannequin is writhing in his grave. This song was written, as its title says, to mimic birdsong. it is also a madrigal so the slides in this version are bad in this. There are much better versions of this song on youtube.

Surely Jannequin would've been more than satisfied to have his work translated and produced five hundred years later, with a machine in a land he'd never heard of except perhaps in myth. Is there a better demonstration of sublimity?

Leave it to the Japanese to bring perennial beauty to the twenty first century :)
