  • haha! the "voice contest" is just...

roger trying to sing like freddie, it's like a 2 years old girl trying to KO Mike Tyson

  • jajajaj I LOVE YOU ROGER YOU ARE SO FUNNY AND SEXYYYYY

  • the difference between a good voice and THE voice ;)

  • Roger :"ready to go and do this?"

    Freddie: "yea, hang on"

    LMAOO

  • @tomb833 Brian May is the one saying "ready to go and do this?"

Brian is standing right outside the door out of view of the camera. I wish there was a clearer version of this clip. It's great.

  • Requiescas in Pace

  • How can you just stand around and let out a voice like that so effortlessly? A true talent, R.I.P Freddie Mercury.

  • Lol I've always found this piece to be cool & you can tell that what comes naturally to Freddie he doesn't have to force it but Roger throws his hands out trying to force himself to sing as high & loud as Freddie but inevitably loses the battle. We understand rog, no one's a match against the mercurial Freddie.

  • Such beautiful, amazing men. I love how Rog and Fred were best mates. (:

  • Can't mess with Freddie Roger!

  • HAHA! Rodger comes in: AHH! Lol

  • Szanowni widzowie TVP2 - oto prawdziwa BITWA NA GŁOSY!

  • Love it when you see these godlike legends just hangin out

  • @Celetic12 he sounds so cute in the distance!

  • ROGER IS HOT!

  • Meu, sem palavras para expressar... simplesmente o melhor e maior vocalista de todos os tempos!!!

  • @tunoloko Yap! A melhor BANDA DE SEMPRE:D

  • freddie mercury can hit notes higher than roger but roger feels more confortable at the higher notes.as roger said in an interview he can sing high but he is not good at the lower notes but he said that freddie is good everywhere! freddie can hit a C5 WITHOUT FALSETO! and with falseto a lot more(C6,A5,Bb5 etc.)roger can not!

  • Dont fuck with Freddie! He'd kick your ass dead or alive!

  • This is hilarious!! Miss u Freddie!! Ah the good days... are now over.... these are the days of our lives...

  • Ha Ha i loved it when Freddie laughed at Roger R.I.P Freddie ;-(

  • aka who stole deaky's tweezer

  • lmfao! Loving it... XD

  • cmo la voz de freddie satura el audio!!

  • freddie sounds like a big tenor

  • @224364 dude freddie was a big tenor... and maybe the best front man of the history.

  • @cac1987fcb maybe ??? he is the bet frotman

  • @cac1987fcb Definitely best front man in history, and yes big tenor, most of his songs were sung in tenor range, but did you know that Freddie actually spoke with natural baritone voice? It's true. He was a vocal genius.

  • @TheArauna1 And what's really something is when Freddie was recording with opera diva Caballe she told him he sang soprano. Freddie just smiled.

  • @Yo1969Yo LOL that is hysterically funny! I love the fact that Freddie loved opera and ballet. He was such a well-rounded performer.

  • lol poor Roger. you cant compete with that :D

VIVA QUEEN, FREDDIE, ROGER, BRIAN Y JOHN

  • I love how a stage hand says "Your ready to go do this?" (referring to one of the biggest live concerts of all time)

    Freddie casually replies

    "Yeah hang on"

  • @colotron It was Brian who says that line. Brian said that he (Brian) never got nervous before any concert. Isn't that amazing? As a matter of fact none of the guys would get nervous. Anxious yes, nervous no. Just proves one thing. They knew they were good and they were right.

  • Do I saw 15 amps ??

  • No contest.

  • G5?

  • i like rogers voice better, its pure rock n roll.

  • @haladilnikas you are one deaf MF, Roger is a great drummer period, he is no singer, FREDDIE MERCURY was QUEEN, without him the band is done, John Deacon quit the band after Freddie,s death because he understood the GREATEST is gone, if Roger is such a great singer Queen would not have hooked up with other singers recently as in Queen + ---. Plus Freddie wrote and sang all or most their biggest hits.

  • @pilotl1011 Actually, Roger was a pretty great singer too. But you can't compare anyone to Freddie, man. He was just out of this world.

  • You can see that Freddie's voice was more powerful than Roger's but I think there was some notes that ONLY Roger could reach... some higher notes!

But Roger's voice it's very, very powerful in 'I'm love with my car' and I think this song wouldn't be so freaking cool if Freddie had recorded it

  • @Marianaavalle Oh cmon freddie can go higher than Roger...no offense, I like roger's voice, ragged, rock sort of voice! Long live Fred n Roger

  • @panda123456789ed Freddie could go higher than Roger's highest notes only in falsetto. Freddie had much greater octave range than Roger (over 4 in falsetto and around 4 "clear") but Roger could sing higher (BoRhap, '39, Ogre Battle, etc) than all other members. But, as someone said before, there's obviously a reason that Freddie was the lead singer and not Roger - because he was/is vocal god!! I think lots of people here misunderstood the whole think - it's not about who has a better voice.Peace

  • @bijou201 The reason Freddie was the singer is that he couldn't play drums!!. Roger sang on many of Smile & Queen songs and capable enough to be the lead vocal on these songs. Roger doesn't get enough credit for his input but we were lucky they were both in one band together.

  • @rmtdrums I agree that Roger was a fine singer. His voice blended so beautifully with Freddie's on many Queen songs. Brian also, has a very pleasant singing voice. There is no comparison to Freddie as a singer or showman. He had it all, and his voice was like a machine gun - not many could beat it. All four of these men were so very talented. The fact that they ended up together in one band is a blessing to all of us who had the pleasure of listening to the music they made together.

  • @Marianaavalle

Yeah Roger provided the screaming parts on tracks like My Fairy King, Ogre Battle and Fairy Feller's Master Stroke. Not even Freddie could reach that high but he obviously had a wider range.

  • @bijeleudovice2 I can see how that would be the most important thing to respond to, but whatever, fair enough.

  • @bijeleudovice2 So, let's just quickly go over what I just said to demonstrate the lengths of your douchebaggery.

First, I said that Roger can sing higher, and in Bohemian Rhapsody he sings a Bb6, which I'm pretty sure is higher than an F6.

Next, I said that "I" prefer his tone in certain contexts, which some might sympathize with hearing Freddie sing songs not written for him like '39, and that's strictly my opinion.

And lastly, I said that Freddie's an overall better singer.

  • Fantastic. That´s great!

  • Fantastic, that´s great. wow!!!

  • Fantastic, that´s great. wow!!!

  • I noticed John Deacon at the mixer. What you seldom hear about is that John was an electrician, he often directed the set ups and positions of speakers and wireing, and also repaired them when necessary. He was also known for devising the "Deacy (Deacon) Amp". No dummies in this group. A dentist (Roger), An astrophyisist (Brian), an electrician (John) and then...TA DAH! the Master Class genius of music and entertainment, Freddie!

  • @Jacksloveinbloom That was not Deaky at the mixer.

  • Nice

Freddie ofc but Roger has diffrent kind of voice

  • all i can say is i love those two so much :)

  • In fairness, Rogers voice was far superior in the early days!

  • @Abandonfire84 Roger has a great voice, even today. Freddie once said that Roger was better than him. Roger didn't agree. Freddie could hit the same high notes Roger hit but Freddie wanted Roger to do it. For example, Freddie could hit the high note that Roger hit in Bohemian Rhapsody but he wanted Roger to hit it while Freddie concentrated on hitting the lower notes in the rock opera section of BoRhap. Both excellent singers.

  • @Yo1969Yo Oh i no, but im talkin about in the even earier days, during Queen 1 and even pre queen, Rogers voice was better, this is prob cos he had a lot of trainin with the quior, unlike Freddie, hu jus sang for fun really!

But i totally agree, both excellent singers, even Brian is better these days, on another world(album as well as the song) he sounds fantastic, as opposed to BTTL, wer he jus sounds terrible in my opinion!

  • @Abandonfire84 I can still remember when I first heard Freddie and Roger sing back in 1974. Loved it!! It makes me want to cry.

  • @Yo1969Yo I don't believe that Freddie ever said Roger was better than him. Show me.

  • @moneyquickeasy It was more like a tongue in cheek type of statement. Brian also said that Freddie didn't think he (Freddie) was that good at playing the piano.

Freddie was so sweet and modest. I've read so many articles but I have an idea of where to look.

  • @Yo1969Yo Yes I read where Freddie wasn't happy with his piano abilities. Which is ironic because he was a great pianist.

  • @moneyquickeasy Well he can certainly sing higher than Freddy ('39) and I much prefer the tone of his voice in certain contexts (I'm In Love With My Car), but that's mostly my opinion and speculation. There's obviously a reason that Freddy was the lead singer and not Roger.

  • Roger, I love you dearly but...........

we're talking about Freddie's vocals and.......

    well, no one beats Freddie.

  • Lol Rogers excuse in an interview was once "Its not fair, he's older than me." Nice try. x]

  • hahaha nice try roger...

freddie is the best vocalist now and forever

  • I though this was before Knebworth.

  • @carooomargheee It is sure!

  • @Abandonfire84

    So I was right! Thanks.

  • Roger: "Are we ready to go & do this"

    Freddie: "Yeah hang on"

    Freddie was too cool!

  • What is going through the minds of the musicians as they prepare to g-?

    I wonder what that means?

  • They´re so cute, gorgeous men ! =D

  • Freddie really has a powerfull voice..

But listen to I'm in love with my car, Roger's voice is damn hawt!

  • roger's voice isn't bad

    i like him <3

but brian may is the best ^^

  • I enjoyed the video none the less :]

  • ha ha roger is so cute

  • russia loves you, Freddie! Real power of voice and energy!

  • hate aids

    miss you freddie

  • Wow, what an awesome vibrato....

  • hahahahahahahahah!!!

  • roger and freddie are very good singers!!

    heh

    long live Queen!!

    FM BM JD RT!!

  • freddie is wiping the floor with roger!

  • They're so funny! XD

  • Yeah, hang on...lmao!

  • Freddie had more power, Roger could sing higher.

  • LOL, Roger's pretty awesome too!

  • freddie was so boring! poor roger hahaahahhaahha

  • I don't deny that Roger's awesome, but Freddie's just better. Both of them kick butt, either way.

  • YOU FORGET THAT FREDDIENOT JUST MAKE ALL THE FIXES IN THE Chorus he waswith taylor the the couple who sings more , in the lily of the valley and you take my breath away like in others, freddie flown alone with all his voices just in the songs, like the perfect mad the swine, in never more he shows that doesnt need always the falsetto of taylor, he is the god of melodic voice

  • both voices are increibleeeeeee!!!

  • epic moment at 0:10 freddie's vibrato is perfect and outshines.

  • @beans909 Man, you're right.

  • Roger Taylor is a fantastic singer as well. He usually hit the highest notes in the Queen catalouge, the high note during the opera part of Bohemian Rhapsody.

No doubt him and Brian were the perfect backing vocalists for Freddie though. Roger's high rasp, Brian's gentle low voice, and in the midst of it all.. Freddie with all his power.

  • trumsolon: couldn't agree more. All of them coming together to form Queen... it's sort of a musical miracle. Their music will never die and will never be forgotten. It's just to majestic for that ;)

  • 0:08-0:15 (:

    "Yeah hang on." Haha

  • Yes ,there is no contest with anybody up against Freddie. I think Rodger however is very under estimated as a singer. Didnt he do all the opera sounding highs on Shear Heart Attack, Day at the races and Night at the opera? He also sang alot of lead in the early days and did a great job! Rodger Taylor= Hell of a singer!

  • jajaj que linda toda esa previa de un show

  • You can hear just how powerful Freddie's voice is. Roger was no where near Freddie and Roger has a veryhigh voice.

  • I mean they were hitting same notes just freddie comes at them with tremendous power. Roger probably could actually hit higher notes.

  • i think freddie was drinking something alcholic :D

  • imagine roger had brown hair. he would be richard hammand lol

  • Does anyone know what melody Freddie is singing?

  • I think that they're just improvising...

  • hahah they are a bit drunk ;)

  • thats neat..

  • Verdi Baritone vs Countertenor:

    Guess who wins?

    LMFAO!

  • verdi baritone? whats that?

  • It's the same voice as a "lyric baritenor." Those are voices that have the qualities of a tenor, yet are/were natural baritones.

  • o.0! I thought that there was just the dramatic tenor to describe that kind of voice. Mmm I dont know how to disting those kind of voices. Such as myself, I dont know what kind of voice I am. Some people told me that I looks like a leggeiro tenor but many people have told me also that my voice is resonant and it seems to be baritone. A singer told me that I have some characteristics of both so I dont know... But I guess that Im not a verdi baritone, my voice is not lyric at all, I think

  • I have to hear your voice, because I can't tell you what your voice type is based off comments. Do you know your range?

  • mmm G#2 to F#4 with chest voice. I can hit sometimes the F#2 or F2 and G#4 or A4 but the sound is bad(throat overuse), I couldnt sing with those notes.

I cant use the head and mix voice yet.(diaphragm issues)

With falsetto I can hit the C6

    thnx fella

  • Well, the best advice I can give you, is to not sing and let your throat heal up. Then I can at least steer you in the right direction about the vocal type.

  • lol....

  • hahahahahahaha so good!

  • GREAT!!

  • and the winner is... !

  • Oo god they are sooo cute!!!!

    I love them!!!!

    Freddie!!!!

    Roger!!!!!

    Wanderful

    men!

  • Very nice try Roger, but... )

  • Hahaha they're so cool xDD

    Nice try Roger :'D

  • Robert plant is the shit! But Freddie, i think, comes out on top.

  • @LEdPRINCEgirl i agree but would say it's less close than that as freddie's vowels shit all over robert plant's - robert plant was all range and no clarity. freddie was clear as fucking crystal.

  • Um.. Just wondering, where Robert Plant came into the discussion in the first place... the video's about Freddie Mercury vs Roger Taylor, no?

  • rodger is good too :D

  • Wow listen to Freddie's vibrato

his voice is simply amazing !

  • Freddie's voice is just too powerful...

    Nice try Roger! LOL!

  • He'll Fucking yeah it is

  • I love robert plant but freddie mercury owns him. hands down.

  • Okay this is a really stupid argument.

    I love Queen

    I love Led zeppelin

But really even i realize that you cant compare Mercury and Plant.

Why? well darlings cause they sound very different, thats why!

  • Sledge999, nemash pojma. pushi kurac....

  • do jaja

  • No offense, but, I personally think that Freddie Mercury kills Robert Plant. Mercury could hit nearly any note while Plant simply sat there and screamed and screeched High notes.

  • Easy, Plant have a lot of problems with his voice... Mercury no, but they are fabolous singers

  • yeah i agree... freddie had an astounding vocal range. dont get me wrong i like robert plant but he just doesnt compare vocally to freddie mercury.

  • there is no plant vs. mercury...i love them both taste is subjective.. ido feel freddie was the greatest singer of all time...his highs were highr than anyone else in full voice...but none theless they were both great.

  • Freddie ... THE BEST EVER!

  • Queen and Zeppelin*

  • Queen on Zeppelin are legendary, how about we enjoy both and spread our hate to JB and Miley?

  • LOL! this is so funny!

  • This debate about "who's the best between Plant and Mercury" is very funny to me because I love those two bands. Plant could sing the most higher notes, but couldn't bring it them the same power that Freddie could. I mean, Plant's voice is kind of "thin" and naturally high; Freddie had to put all his strengh to reach the top of his range, and you can feel it in his voice. Anyway there are great singers with a low range, everything is not in the "high notes", please!!

  • Lol. I like Led zepplin more, no zep is shit, queen is better, no zep, no queen.

Just like little kids: my toy is bigger than yours!!

Can't you just let the music be what it is? A pleasure! Queen AND Led Zeppelin are both ass-kicking bands, and there are millions of musicians refering to both of them, as their influence.

So take it easy and just ROCK to all those great Bands!!!

  • Cheers, man

  • Total agreement. I don't get why Led Zeppelin-fans are so hostile to Queen-fans, Led Zeppelin is a great band and the people who fan it have no reason to feel insecure just because some people like Queen more. Letting people like what they like in peace has never hurt me.

  • I love BOTH bands! How can Zepp fans and Queen fans not like eachother? They both produced wonderful music on an epic scale!

  • No offense to Roger, but Freddy has the power behind his vocals and the range. Roger is surely very good. Freddy is, undoubtedly, GREAT.

  • Well Roger Taylor has a very raspy voice, which makes it hard to sing. Although he can hit high notes

  • Now, this is cute!

  • Nothing better than watching Freddie outsing Roger! LOL!

    Just kidding.

    Queen is the best.

  • Cazzo! Freddie tira una cannellata di potenza inumana! Da cantante lirico direi

  • Why don't we stop this? -.- There's no need to compare such good bands. Led Zeppelin was Led Zeppelin and Queen was Queen, okay? You two are underrating both groups. I prefer Queen, but Led Zep is amazing, in my opinion. So please STOP IT! We should be arguing against JB or something like that, not against another legendary bands xD

  • Omg roger, And i thought you were hot! lol,

  • ROGER FAIL!

    ahahha

  • COOL :)

  • FREDDIE DEJA K.O. A ROGER

  • jajajajajajajaja me gusto

  • jajajaja el Roger se la cura!

  • Comment removed

  • Ledges.

  • fun

  • go roger!

  • 0:11 ... Freddie destroy Roger!!! :D

  • I LOVE IT!!

  • Freddie has a great voice even with out the mic shows that he is the best.

  • freddi win lol

  • FREDDIE*

  • Viva mercury!

  • Ahahaha ke grandi ....

  • Cazzo che voce.... E che bono che sei anche Freddie!!!

  • sisi e roger ke lo vuole imitare!! ah ah! ke dolce^^ mi piaceeeee!

  • great footage!

  • do you think that roger could sing D6, C6, C#6 and E6 in falsetto?i don't think so.

anyway, queen will always be the best :)

  • roger is incredible in "In the lap of the Gods"

  • Roger always sounds incredible. And frequently whilst he's beating the hell out of his drums at the same time. :)

  • did queen and paul rogers just come out with a new album?

  • yep. its called "The Cosmos Rocks"
