The Bethlehem story is Matthew's attempt to portray Jesus as the messiah - who had to be a descendent of David. The birth date of 25th was never a Christian belief - it was always acknowledged that it was a pre Christian festival. But this doesn't prove that Jesus never existed as a historical figure - it just supports the view that the doctrines that developed round him are dubious.

The plan of redemption was written in the stars as a witness to all of the ancient cultures, so it makes perfect sense that each one would come up with their own interpretation. Why would God send his son so late in the history of humans to save us? Everything about Horus above is a lie, except that he performed miracles (par for the course), had a few honorifics in common, and was son of Isis by a god (her husband, being herself a god), and not technically by a penis (he had a prosthetic penis). Stories about Shango were not dated to a few decades before they were written, and don't seem shackled to reality in the way the Gospels do, the acrobatics they do to fit these common elements in.

But I believe most modern Christian labels and thoughts to be wrong so my friend (who's agnostic) who this was for intended for needed a background so I used scriptures. Later on I use more history and cultural things. Not a whole lot of science but this video did not call for it.

The Bethlehem story is Matthew's attempt to portray Jesus as the messiah - who had to be a descendent of David. The birth date of 25th was never a Christian belief - it was always acknowledged that it was a pre Christian festival. But this doesn't prove that Jesus never existed as a historical figure - it just supports the view that the doctrines that developed round him are dubious.

Why would God send his son so late in the history of humans to save us? It doesn't make sense, however, what does make sense is that ancient cultures, including whoever created Christianity, looked towards the sky for answers, and based beliefs off of celestial happenings. Each just put their own characters in, but its the same book every time.

According to Wikipedia, it is visible as far north as the Tropic of Cancer at the solstice, but Israel is well north of that. Also, a cross is only one way four stars can be connected. Dionysos is one of many sons of Zeus, born of a married woman and a man's leg, in March. It's right on Krishna, and I know little about Attis.
And the sun/son parallel is just... no. It doesn't work that way.

Everything about Horus above is a lie, except that he performed miracles (par for the course), had a few honorifics in common, and was son of Isis by a god (her husband, being herself a god), and not technically by a penis (he had a prosthetic penis). Stories about Shango were not dated to a few decades before they were written, and don't seem shackled to reality in the way the Gospels do, the acrobatics they do to fit these common elements in.

But I believe most modern Christian labels and thoughts to be wrong so my friend (who's agnostic) who this was for intended for needed a background so I used scriptures. Later on I use more history and cultural things. Not a whole lot of science but this video did not call for it.

There's a book about him called Pantera (no I'm not kidding you can find it on Amazon) Another is Appolonius of Tyrannus (but then again he might not have existed, but he is said to have been a miracle performing greek philosopher.)
