Pokemon Platinum (U.S.): Getting the Gracidea Flower and Sky Forme Shaymin

Im using a pokemon movie 08 event shaymin and it says met at a fateful encounter, but when i use the flower it says "It wont have any effect". can someone help me?

If bluely1994 is right, as long as it was "Met in a fateful encounter," it should work.

It must be a Shaymin that was downloaded from Toys R Us. Flower Paradise Shaymin will not work.

If you got it off the GTS, then that means it isn't the Shaymin you need. The event Shaymin has a Classic Ribbon.

Well, there's your problem. Hacked/tweaked Shaymin won't work. It has to be a Shaymin from either the US Toys 'R Us event, the UK GAME event, or the Japanese movie event.

The only thing I can tell you is that it needs to be a TRU Event Shaymin from last February. If it is, I don't know what's wrong...Did you actually get the flower but couldn't find it maybe? It's a Key Item.

It says that when Shaymin is frozen, it is nighttime, or Shaymin is already in Sky Forme. Make sure you don't have any of those factors.

I think they mean event ones. Remember that the U.S. event was a month before Platinum was released. I traded mine from Pearl.

Well I can see this is an ongoing problem...

In this video, I used a U.S. Toys 'R Us Shaymin, still holding the Micle Berry. It was daytime.

I have no idea if the item or time of day affect this at all. I had one Bagde when I made this video, so badge number isn't a factor. I don't know why some of you can't get the flower...

Hmm...I may have to clarify some things. When I say event, I mean Events that already happened. Since the Oak's Letter event hasn't happened yet, only Japanese Sky Warrior Shaymin and Shaymin from the Toys 'R Us events will work. Tweaking or using a walk-through-walls cheat to get a Flower Paradise Shaymin won't work.

I got Diamond on lauch day. However, Platinum is the first third installment in a series I have gotten. I have never owned Emerald, Yellow, or Crystal.

I found my Pokemon Blue on Saturday! It has the old file (3 years ago+) and it works.

And I had the toughest battle EVER. On Platinum, I was going against Gardenia with two Pokemon: Prinplup, and Budew. Prinplup fainted, and it was my only hope as it had peck. So it was Roserad vs Budew. I had to keep using Stun Spore, and I got Paralyzed too, and then I just kept using Mega Drain. Eventually, I had to repeat as Gardenia used the Super Potion. I won with absorb lol.

I love those epic early game battles XD. I still need to beat Gardenia. Raising a team just takes forever. I should just blow through with just my starter as I usually do. Did it with Torterra in Pearl, so why not Empoleon in Platinum?
