  • F me is that great!

  • does anyone knows if it is in standart tuning ?

  • @Bluesisnotrock DGDGAD

  • come and hang with me Doyle!! i would love to booze it up with you!!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOW

  • Great job picking that tune ... I love the bending of the strings, almost sounds like a steel !!!!!! Great job, I enjoyed listening.

  • Instead of trying to compare and argue ' who is the greatest' guitarist / musician why not just watch and enjoy this fabulous performance !! I just did. Never sen the guy before , but I just love this one.

  • Absolute fantastic picking , your the main man , :)

  • This is entertaining, I've seen him do this live at the old Tom's music store in Victorville! He's amazing!

  • Love that B string bend. Fabulous playing. Wabash was one of the first country tunes I taught myself to play flatpicking style when I bought my first guitar back in the late 1960's.

  • Fantastic!! Never try to compare different style guitarists. Like comparing a great apple to a great orange. If you're in the mood for an orange, it'll always be better.....until you're craving an apple.

  • Wow!

  • He must have some super Slinkys strings on that damn thing to do those bends.

  • @trainmasterxxx i think hes in standard tuning, tuned down a whole step

  • I felt the earth begin to move at 1:53

  • picker50: Nor could a Doyle play like Hendrix if you put oa gun to his head - so what?? khensley1966: SRV is not even one of the best Hendrix-immitators, let alone able to "play Hendrix better than Hendrix"!!

  • nh165 you ever notice that SRV could play hendrix better hendrix

  • picker50, That's true, but they do play different styles. They are great in their own separate areas. Hendrix could be a terrible country musician, but an amazing blues/rock musician.

  • if everybody sounded the same it would be boring wouldnt it? Doyle is a virtuoso and so was Hendrix like many other which gives us all a much broader pallet to which we may Exel. and reach for...

  • A N I M A L

  • ummm... does anyone have the tab for this?

  • World class playing! Awesome. The behind the nut bending sounds sweet!

  • @ThePreciousguitar87 Doyle is the man. I tried "nut bending" and all i heard was a scream...from me. I think I'm doing something wrong :(

  • bravissimo e tanti auguri da luciano conza

  • So would the fact that Paganini or Mozart wouldn't be able to play this without learning the idioms of bluegrass make them crap musicians as well? Nonsense comparison. Musicianship is also about innovation, not just speed. Disclaimer: I'm in no way denigrating Doyle Dykes, this a great version, brilliantly played.

  • DGDGAD

  • @illgoggia my strings broke tryin to do that tuning lol

  • DGDGAD..

  • his thumb has a different brain than the rest of his body...

  • THAT is pickin'. REAL talent. Thanks for sending this one C.W.! ......blu.

  • I've listened to Doyle before, but, not this one.

    AWESOME share, C.W!

    Fantastic upload! Thanks for sharing!

    Very best of wishes!

    GinMillBill

  • Imagine if he played a real guitar like a Guild OR MARTIN lol

  • @DAVEY500MUSIC Imagine if you were a real comedian lol

  • Imagine if he played a real guitar lol

  • does anyone know how to find tabs on his stuff??

  • A renowned guitarist and a personal friend. Doyle is one of the best in his style to come along in our lifetime. THANKS FOR SHARING, C.W.

  • damn ........

  • How a fingerpicker should be. Unlike em tasteless horde of Tommy Emmanuel clones on Maton guitar and fake head bobbing.

  • WOW! Fantastic technique and wonderful style ! ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆

    Thanks you for posting

  • and i jizzed in my pantz

  • Genius.

  • maestro

  • Doyle has so much talent, he is definitely blessed by God and he has taught his

children well. I love to watch him play! it is awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  • I'm mostly a rock fan, but man it is so refreshing to hear stuff like this once in awhile. I listen to this and just feel at ease.

  • Fantastic playing Doyle!! A favourite of mine!

  • I love this, I play (and teach) guitar so I know how hard it is. If you like it ,check out Martin Taylor or Stanley Jordan, they are more jazz than country, but they can both make one guitar sound like two or three,

  • wow that is just insane talent...awesome job!!

  • oh my God!

  • somebody here could help me to discover the composer/author of the music used in this video? : watch?v=5P_VNTl_qBc&playnext_from=TL&videos=-Nkrp1Q6JyM . Please, forget the UFO-thing... (LOL). I'm only interested in that sweet music! Best regards and thanks.

  • tuning for this?

  • @chromakey84 DAGDGD i think. i'm sure all tunings are on the doyle dykes official website

  • @chromakey84

    D/G/D/G/A/D

  • Awsome, This guy's so good, And he's got a bit of a Adrian Legg vibe going on with those bend's.

  • ur right

  • Doyle...man you are one Fretkillr!!!

  • And Doyle couldn't play Hendrix style if you paid him..DIfferent styles entirely.

  • i'm quiting the guitar :(

  • How is this guitar tuned?

  • @jgs1957 DGDGAD

  • You can learn this arrangement - the TAB is in Doyle's book "Virtuoso Fingerstyle Gutiar". It's not an easy one but I have got a lot of mileage out of it - Doyle is not only a master player, his arrangement ideas seem endless. I recommend the book highly.

  • Alright! Thanks a lot for this info

  • @jwdeeming This tab book is a huge step in anyones guitar playing. absolutely brill but i still think it would be easier to climb Everest in my bare feet.lol

  • @jwdeeming Thanks for the heads up. just went to his site and bought the tab. Have you checked out Don Ross' music? Been a fan forever. His Answer Book is a bible for me

  • My nipples got hard watching that.

  • bravoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the best !!!!!!

  • Slash who? LOL. That was a pleasure to watch and listen to.

  • amazing!

  • doyle is extra ordinary skillfull

  • Thats the prettiest stuff I've ever heard!

  • Slow down Leroy!!

  • ......goosebumps. Absolutely beautiful! Tommy Emmanuel eat your heart out.

  • Doyle has God given talent. I don't care how much you practice, he was born to play like this. You can't be that great without help from above.

  • my god i love this man

  • dont say omy god

  • if i wanna say o my god, i say it

  • What an amazing talent. I had a big smile on my face thru this entire video. I could not stop grinning. GO DOYLE!

  • chet atkins reborn!!

  • Throw your guitar in the fire?...Why?..Doyle should be an inspiration to all us learning to play the guitar to stick at it & get better!.

  • i am learning guitar..and i just came across this guy playing guitar !! and after watching him....i have decided to throw mine in the fire !!!!! regards paddy o toole..

    IRELAND...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

  • Pure and simply the king of guitar!!!! unquestionable

  • MJ was the King!

That is some Good Slap Bass!!!

Doyle plays bad ass White Stripe!

  • INCREIBLE

  • hendrix was good but really cant undestand alot of it doyle is very good also and you can understand his stuff...

  • Doyle is the shiznit

  • wow

  • dont care wit anyone says... to pick like that... fucking leganded :)

  • That was funny at the end he did the harmonics!

  • At one of his clinics, he was using a mic and amp mix...

  • This guy is awesome. I just wish he would mike up instead of putting all of that great tone through pickups and amps.

  • This is awesome,five stars and a fave.Thanks to

ValsHere for sending it to me !!!

  • Phew!! Isn't he something!!!

    I'm loving it!

  • Not to say Rolling Stone mag is full of it but Hendrix couldnt play like this if you put a gun to his head.

  • i think thats a bit of a over statement , hendrix had his own style just like doyle dose , there diffrent in there own way in my opinion

  • @picker50 yeah...true ..but doyle probably couldn't play a solo like hendrix either...!!

  • @picker50 That's true but he could if he wanted to learn how. Same goes for DD playing like Hendrix. Both of them could play whatever they felt like learning. Probably not true for me or you.

  • @picker50 doyle couldn't play like Hendrix if someone put a gun to his head either. look what hendrix had when it comes to gear and what todays guys have. if hendrix had lived to this day he would've developed his technic further and his sound would've improved. it's not how well he played, it's what he did to the world of music with a guitar, that makes him the best guitarist in the world. cuz there's a LOT of people who plays better than Jimi today, but Jimi showed them the way. =)

  • @thefatmuff indeed, and nobody can play EVERY style of guitar perfectly, or any for that matter, styles and practicing those styles matter, and one can only live for so long, but you get what i mean

  • @picker50 Any true guitar picker knows that there is no such thing as who is the best! There are a lot of guitar players that are pioneers or unheard of superstars! Rolling Stone sells mags they don't play guitar, record guitar or make guitars. They type, pickers pick.

  • @picker50 With the right musical training and discipline Hendrix could sound like Dykes, however, what sets them apart is Hendrix's ability to write iconic rock songs that have stood the test of time. Its like saying that Van Gogh couldn't paint a picture like someone who does actual portraits of people. Van Gogh could have painted portraits perfectly but instead he revolutionized art, Hendrix did the same with rock & roll. Although Dykes is a master of masters they're different kind of artists

  • godlike!

  • wow

  • ROCK ON

  • can you send me the tabs? lol
