@kingamin77 plus since vm announced that it will now throttle anyones data usage after going over 2.5gb starting in Mar it will have little affect on bb since it uses less data than android phones. And touch screens are freaking anoying lol.
I like the points you made about android phones lol. I have the lg v phone myself and its really great for web browsing and it does have a bit better processer then the bb. But my main issue with android phones is Google and how it has access to all your personal info and contacts. You cant even have basic use of an android without first having a gmail account thru google.
@skaterforlife7100 Beyond talk Plan...it would cost you way more to pay for anything on the Pay Lo plan...that is a rip off by the way. Not worth it! Beyond Talk is best!
thick accents? yes but mine is a thick asian one nothing wrong with that but if it were in spanish in my area we could get things resolved easier! love the service but the CS needs to improve honestly!
@pico90015union There is no more $25 plan, it starts at $35 now. That is called the Beyond Talk Plan if that's what you're talking about. It includes the BB service at no additional charge.
I also Like how this video and you seem so rehearsed and The words you say just describe it to a T. You should keep doing videos because most of the other phone reviews are crappy. Yours are amazing! Keep up the good work!
@DaisysBoutique Aww, thanks so much! This IS why I do these reviews. I couldn't find a good one either when I wanted to research it and I wanted to help other people like myself. I'm glad I could be of some help! :)
Wow! This video helped my decision for which phone i want for christmas. Im deciding between this and the pantech link. But you really seem to know all about this phone and It really helped me out alot! :)
@Rickshzzz111 Yes! The touch screen b/c it has a larger viewing area/screen for web browsing. Plus it has the qwerty keyboard which I like. I can't wait. It seems they may never come out with it :(
I'm not sure if this has been said before, but you can change the home page for the web browser. With the browser open, hit the berry button, and then select "Options", then select "Browser Configuration", and then change the home page URL to the website you want in the "Home Page Address" box.
Hey, I need your help. I just received my blackberry 8530 virgin phone in the mail today and I am having difficulty activating it. First of all the MEID number is way too small to see with my eyes under the battery. Secondly the alternative way of accessing this number is not working for me. I dial ##MEID# from the main screen and it just goes into call mode and makes a call. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong please? Maybe you remember the activation process?
@brainboob Mine was activated in the store so I can't tell you exactly but you might have to get a magnifying glass of some sort to see the numbers or have someone with good vision read it. Otherwise follow the instructions in the manual to access it on the phone. If that doesn't work call customer service to help you access it from the phone.
Actually, i figured out where to find the MEID number inside the phon through another means, basically by going into options and looking at the phones 'status'. By the way, the thing you mentioned about having to zoom in on text in the web browser and then scroll back and forth to read things has an easy solution. While in web browsing mode, hit the blackberry icon and go to options and then browser configuration. There you can alter font size, so you do not have to zoom/scroll
Oh by the way, I have one last question. I read on certain website reviews of this phone that people can only browse the internet using wi fi on it. Obviously this isn't true, right? I think you mentioned in the video you had plenty of 3G on the go.Thanks.
@brainboob You can browse the internet regardless if you are on wi-fi or not but it will be faster of course when you are using Wi-fi. It uses the 3G network when you have no wi-fi available.
What I don't understand however, is that on most phones you zoom in on a web page and it automatically re-formats the font to fit the page. Why wouldn't it do that on this phone?
@brainboob When you zoom in on a site with this phone, the words are bigger but the sentences/paragraph does not fit entirely onto the screen so you have to scroll left-right and up-down to read the article. It's probably b/c the screen is just too small. This automatically sizes the font to where you need a magnifying glass to read the article without zooming in...ridiculous! Also some sites just don't support phone media/browsers.
Yes, that's what I mean. On android phones when you use the zoom function the website background and the fonts are separated through some kind of filter, so that the website looks exactly the same except that the fonts are organized into a thin column which fits exactly onto the page so you don't need to side scroll. Is there a reader app for blackberries, for reading books on the go?
@brainboob I have no idea...You can probably access the BB App World online to see what apps are available for download. It's easily accessible for dl's on the phone but if you want to see before purchasing the phone this may be a good idea for you.
Thanks. I'm sure it will have adequate apps, even though it's not going to be as thorough as androids selection. The other thing I dig about this phone is that in the middle of winter when I am taking a walk and have my gloves on I don't have to take them off to use a touch interface, thus chancing frost bite. Like you said it's a mini-computer and the keyboard interface is actually designed to function as such. What's the longest the battery will last with moderate use?
@brainboob The battery life depends on a few things...first, when it's new, of course, it can last longer and eventually with continual charging it holds less of a charge. I would say you should expect to change/charge your battery 2-3 times a day. At LEAST 2 times for sure!!! I think I charge mine at least 2 times every day. When you watch videos on it, the battery life will drain super fast...moderate use is less.
So would you say you have a reliable 4-5 hours of life on the battery with moderate use? I mean I don't plan on making the phone my entertainment hub or anything, but as a mobile phone I would stilll like it to at least hold a charge for around 5 hours when out and about, as long as I am not using it super frequently. When you re-charge your phone is the battery drained all the way down? And how many hows is that after?
@brainboob You will definitely get to have 4-5 hours of continual use from the phone without it dying. I recharge my battery when it is low or dead. I have it set where my phone blinks a certain color letting me know the battery is almost dead so I have time to charge it or switch the battery...which I usually do. Let's say that I put a new battery in it, it should last me half the day that's why I say about 2 times a day you will charge it. OR more if you are on the phone a long time
@brainboob I always say NEVER EVER get t-mobile. It's funny but both my parents and in-laws HAD (key word) T-mobile and all have said how bad it was, esp with the reception! They are prob the worst in my opinion. I've never had them, thank goodness! I hope you have a great experience with VM! Let me know how you like it once you get it going..I would love to know :)
Well I had virgin mobile in the past and the reason I switched to t-mobile is because none of the phones virgin had at the time (about a year and a half ago) appealed too much to me). I recently did some research on the 8530 and it seemed like a decent phone, which prompted me to go back to virgin. But I have otherwise had great experiences with virgin, service wise especially.
@brainboob Good, I'm glad you had a great experience with VM in the past. They are really upping their game on the phones! I had never even knew that VM offered plans like this until I researched getting a BB with a great price online and seen that they offered this. I was amazed and excited! AND pple that complain to me about their cell plans (too much $) I tell them about VM..they had no idea either! Go figure!
do this phone comes with google maps and navgation?? i need to know before i make a purchase its a must have that the phone comes with so far i have the samsung intercept virgin mobile
@roniejohnson It comes with something called "Maps" with navigation. I'm not sure if it is by Google or not. Same thing I assume and if anything you can always dl a better version etc.
@congoline1 I know...my husband has Boost and a BB like mine. Only reason he got Boost is b/c the unlimited plan was cheaper than VM and they have Shrinkage which is worth it. The difference b/w VM and BM is that VM gives you options of diff price plans whereas BM does not. It's one price which is a disadvantage!
Thanks for the info. I also would like to see the bb style added, but I may have to switch to boost mobile for that.I have a optimus v and it's ok it freezes up and gets hot and turns off. I know now after watching this I will go back to my bb curve. I wiil be subscribing to your videos, great job.
@TheBeautyFlower1 Yes I think you should, you won't be sorry! The keys are easy to type with as long as you don't have long fingernails b/c that can make it harder to press on the keys. There is no flash on this model BB.
@strawberriesncandii Well they only raised the price of the $25 plan to $35 to include the BB service automatically. They lowered the other 2 prices to $40 and $55!
@09DanielDay You can order it online and have it shipped to you! Radio Shack seems to have the BEST prices. Walmart has sales on them too, cheapest was $99.99.
