  • i hate the things after episode 6, because ysung vong are idiot and sith after that is impossilble. Is there some book/comic after episode 6 without then?

  • @Darthrotvic If you're really interested in post episode 6 books, you should read Tim Zahn's trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, The Last Command) and his duology (Specter of the Past, Vision of the Futur): they 're really fantastic and thrilling from beginning to end! Or you can try Kevin Anderson's triology (Jedi Search, Dark Apprentice, Champions of the Force) which is rather good too! All of them are 100% guaranteed vongs and sith-free. I hope you'll enjoy them as much as I have.

  • @jadiphredil thank u guy, these books are really without sith and Yuzang Vong?

  • @Darthrotvic You're welcome. Yes, Zahn's books are definitely without sith or vongs: only smugglers and imperials! His books are classic among SW fans :-) Concerning Anderson's books, there is something like a sith-spirit or sith-ghost somewhere in volume 2 ( it's no real sith anyway) but I don't think it will bug you.

  • @jadiphredil Thank u guy, i just have bought the books Specter of the Past and Vision of the Future, i will start read them now. In Zahn Trylogy, i think there is a stupid thingh, a dark jedi cloned by palpatine that can use Force Lighning, can u explain me that? I dont bought that trylogy only because i think it is stupid.

  • @Darthrotvic Your piece of inforamtion about Joruus is true: he's a clone and he can use Force lightning but this last fact is minor and not very useful or relevant in the story: his battle mediation powers are far more important (but you'll see why, I don't want to spoil the plot too much). Besides, these books introduce you to Mara Jade, Thrawn and Talon Karrde (key-characters you'll meet a lot again in the duology).

    Good reading by the way!

  • @jadiphredil I have just bought the trylogy, bacause of your suggestion. I will read the trylogy and the duology after that. I will read about that dark jedi, but i think Zahn write about him after the prequels were released, so if he have waited a little more hw would have writen that this jedi escaped the order 66 and became a dark jedi because of his anger of loose his friends. I think i will consider that he is that. What u think guy?

  • @Darthrotvic Maybe he could have written something like that, but to my mind it would have been the easy way. Plus, it would not have stick to Jorus's personality: he was already sliding to the dark side before being a clone (but I haven't finished Outbound Flight yet so I have not all the elements to judge right now). However, if you prefer to pretend another past for this character to make it more comfortable to you,it's your choice and I understand it too.

  • @jadiphredil No, i liked his origin now. I have almost finished Heir to the Empire this weekend, i will finishy this tomorow. Thank u for the suggestion, ZAnh show that is possible to have good histories after episode 6, without vongs and sith.

  • @Darthrotvic I'm glad you liked it :-)

  • @jadiphredil Do u recomend Outbound Flight? I will recomend to books of star wars. Darth Bane's trylogy ( Path of Destruction, Rule of Two, Dynasty of evil), Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader, The aproaching storm and Dath Maul: Shadow Hunter. I hope u like my suggestions as well as i liked yours, thank u.

  • @Darthrotvic Yes definitely! Especially if you want to know more about Jorus (before he was a clone) and Thrawn. Thanks for your suggestions (I don't known that much books taking place before SW: a new hope) ! I'll try to read Darth Bane when I have some spare-time I think. Is it really good?

  • @jadiphredil U will love it. For me, it is the best book trylogy of star wars and Darth Bane is awesome. I am almost finishing Heir to the empire. Do u know the books of the Black Flett Crisis?

  • @Darthrotvic I've heard about them, but never read them so I don't know what they worth. The Rogue Squadron series is quite good: simple plot but effective and funny. And for a change, it is Wedge Antilles and his pilots who are on the spotlight not the Big Three (Leia, Han and Luke) even though they appear here and there.

  • @jadiphredil Because my aunt gave the trylogy for me. I think i will read them and after that i will tell u what i thoghot, ok? Do you like star wars the clone wars series?

  • @Darthrotvic 1. Ok let me know if they're interesting and I'll have a look at them!

    2. I've never really watched the clone wars series. Maybe one or two episodes but not more for I didn't like the design and I'm not as fan of the prelogy as I am of the old trilogy (I love both but I prefer the old movies that's it) so I'm a little less curious about the period of the clone wars.

  • @jadiphredil I like more the old movies too, but i like the clone wars. U should see the series, most of Thrawn tatics apear in the series, like moving the ship 90 degress and the mile ships. I already finished Heir to the Empire, it is very good and i will begin Dark force Rising today. I am a fan of all star wars saga, but i dont like stupid thinghs after episode 6, like Yuuzon Vong and sith after this episode are impossible. Do u like this , for me, stupid thinghs after episode 6?

  • @Darthrotvic At first, I was sceptical towards YV: too radically different and darker from what I was used to expect from SW. However, they're credibly introduced, challenging for the heroes and refreshing villains (authors couldn't keep with the remnant of imperial forces forever... this lack of originality is boring in the end). So, I tried one book and get caught. For the sith-thing, I'm more divided: it depends how they are introduced (or their existence justified) by the author...

  • @Darthrotvic for I think that evil can never be destroy for once and for all: it's cyclical. Whatever the bad guys, as long as the story is surpising, creative, respective of the original character personalities and key SW elements I'm in! Anyway, I'm such a Mara & Luke (& the Solos) fan that I'll follow them in almost any adventure eyes closed :-)

  • @jadiphredil I think the evil cant be destroyed, but the sith can. Anakin was the chosen one and he destroyed the sith forever. Without one alive sith is impossible to have a new generation to train him and so the last sith were sidious and vader

  • @Darthrotvic I see your point :it's the theory of 'a master and an apprentice' as told in the movies. But, the sith in the post ep 6 novels are of a different kind. For exemple I consider Dark Caedus as a dark Jedi attempting to revive/learn by himself the sith ways rather than a true, pure sith lord. In other novels, sith have been cut off from the rest of the galaxy for centuries and evolved differently. It's like Protestantism: you have the same doctrine at the core but different sects.

  • @Darthrotvic What seems to be a contradiction with the movies is not if you look closer. Plus, you know, the expended SW universe is vast, so you can avoid reading post ep 6 sith-stuff easily. You can't love all and it's perfectly understandable ;-)

  • @jadiphredil I think is idiot the sith after episode 6, because it is a contradiction with the movies and the previous things of the eu. Anakin nwas the chosen one and is imposible to have sith after ep 6.

  • @jadiphredil What about the yuzang Vongs, do u like them? I think they are idiot because of their organic tecnology, this is really idiot.

  • @Darthrotvic On the contrary, I found it very interesting. It develops the idea of symbiosis between species and forces the Jedi to confront something completely unknown to them: that's a real challenge. What I didn't really like about the Vongs is their sadistic, fanatic behaviour, their way of enjoying suffering: sometimes it's too perverse but eh, they're the bad guys after all. And the NJO plot line is quite good (even though there are some overlong passages).

  • @jadiphredil I think the organic tecnology is stupid, because a jedi knight could destroy it easily with the saber and i like the idea of aliens coming from another galaxy, but this ones are stupid and idiot with their tecnology. I think a normal tecnology, but more advanced than the one in the galaxy of sw would be perfect to the vongs. For somethings, organic tecnology may be interesting, but the way they say it to the Vongs is really IDIOT. How about Legacy comics, do u like it?

  • @Darthrotvic I disagree here: there wouldn't have been 19 novels if Vong technology was so easy to destroy for the Jedi! They used pretty lethal biological and animal weapons (eg: Mara's disease, or the Voxyns). I don't understand what it would have changed if they they had 'advanced technology': the aim is the same, having the Jedi fighting something previousely unknown (organic vs mecanic is a good way to reinforce the mutual feeling of strangeness and otherness). I've never read SW comics.

  • @jadiphredil i think their organic tecnology is stupid, because their ships are animals, stupid. The Vings would be better if they dont throh bugs in the others, but have a decent tecnology. I think, if they have a good tecnology, i would consider this war, but their tecnology is idiot and senseless. Good that u dont read this comics, they are the most stupid and idiot of all the star wars, because a idiot that think that he is a sith, "rebuilt" the sith order, even if he doesnt is a sith.

  • how does luke die

  • old age he dies at 102 in the comics

  • Still has yet to be revealed.

  • I wish luke hadn't become one with the force.

  • then who would guide Cade?

  • He could have helped luke better if he were alive I think anyway.
