'Multi-touch comes to Microsoft Windows' That means, it has already been other places; better places... like Apple...

APPLE of course has been researching this technology ~ they hold many patents for it. They have had MultiTouch on real products for 2 years now ~ and those use the SAME OPERATING SYSTEM as the computers...

Actually Apple's iPhone develppers COPIED Microsoft Surface's user interface. It already offered multitouch experience 5 years ago and great 'flash' visual effects. Just check MS Surface development timeline and you'll see the iPhone is in fact just a copy. A response from Steve Jobs to Bill Gates for stealing his idea 30 years ago.

you guys are fools. If apple released something like this you would be all saying it is the greatest thing. This looks awesome. Touch screen the new thing. Look at the iphone. And obviously there is a keyboard attached and mouse probably if you want it. This is just another option. I bet apple will release a touch operating system then you will say "oh this is soo cool". the whole touchscreen idea with phones, computers, etc. is meant for pure enjoyment and simpleness of what your doing.

not really it will use tablet pc hardware so that the touch screen is stationed on your lap or the table instead of in the air

I'm excited about touch technology becoming more widespread but the advantage of the mouse-keyboard interface is that your hands are resting on the table. Touching the screen like that can become tiresome really quickly.

We will need a new interface device, like a mat that is both a touchpad and allows for typing.
