  • Surely one of the crown jewels of jazz?Try listening to this masterpiece without a smile on your face.Bechet is truly majestic and fully in command of his horn at all times. The great Carman Mastren plays some of the most beautiful rhythm guitar you will ever hear.Try Bob Wilbers Bechet Legacy version on You Tube with Glenn Zottola on trumpet. Its a quite brilliant reacreation while avoiding copying the original.Wonderful stuff and a great posting.

  • so many jazz collectors are too old or have died. i have a lot of their stuff, but it becomes quite a job to put it all onto youtube. maybe I will try.

Therefore have patience. Your remark makes a lot of sense.

  • Why in the world is it so hard to come by records by those Hot and New Orleans style musicians like Bechet and Marvellous Muggsy? At least it seems to me so, God bless you if you'd proove me wrong!

  • This is from the hot records society stuff isn't it? have the complete hrs sessions, they got released a litle while back by mosaic, cirtainly worth a buy.

  • A very clean recording of Sids best.

Where did the hiss go? When I lived with George-of-the-Jungle, a frozen dinner salesman, we had an early LP which must have been polished with sandpaper.

  • A real gem. Bechet is just terrific.

  • it is not important to read jazz music. the nature of jazz is improv and this never can be written, i think.
