It'sgreat to think of when they were totally into eachother and the music that they made. It wasn't business then. They loved what they did and they loved eachother.
@Pabmasters If you listen close halfway through the song it sounds like Paul's getting a little tired playing that bass line.Like he's trying to keep up.Makes it even cooler.
Lennon had a fantastic knack for inventing timeless riffs; Day Tripper; Ticket to Ride; Lucy in the Sky...... add the key changes and harmonies and you have brilliance....
@TeamMastaPr2 ; John wrote Day Tripper as a response to the Stones Satisfaction - he wanted a riff heavy song. So he came up with the riff.
Ticket to Ride there's some confusion over - we know Paul played and made up the Solo at the end, but not sure about the lead guitar through the song. Paul might have made it up and George played it during a 'live' take and Paul overdub his solo at the end.
I think that this song and We Can Work It Out is the best single ever considering both sides. One of the few songs written by John, and sung (mostly) by Paul.
You could also consider Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever and Hey Jude/Revolution.
Changing the subject, I think it is a testament to Paul, that he could pay his bass riff, which was mimicking the guitar riff, and sing it at the same time, as to just exactly how good a performer he is; even that young.
@rounds1954 im an avid collector of 60s memorabilia ( especially the fabs) and have THIS 45 ( the original orange-yellow swirl CAPITAL one .. and almost every other 45 and album they did ( the ORIGINAL VINYLE ones... from the actual 60s...from the capital recording to the APPLE ones... most in great condition)... pretty cool huh ? :)
i have these and all outtakes on the tellow dog unsurpassed masters set them masters tapes were taked from abbey road studios in the mid 1980's during a remodel or refurbishing and yellow dog remastered them onto compact disc in early 1989 - 1990 but the remastering was messed up and it was folded down to mono so the first set i bought in 1990 was in mono now my neighbor mesed up my first 3 cds and i rebought them in 1991-92 and it says now in stereo so i thank my neighbor
This version is sick. It seems to be in mono, but sounds a hell of a lot better, centered and punchier than the stereo mix, and Lennon's rhythm guitar stands out like I never heard it before on this track.
Listen to the way the song builds to a fierce, emotional climax, then comes back to the melody like a crashing tidal wave, yet another sign of The Beatles brilliant song-writing.
The Beatles owned and used all sorts of guitars in those days. The guitar riff sounds like it is played on one of the Epiphone Casinos which Paul, George and John had acquired. But it might just as well be George's Gibson SG Standard.

@NatureBoy210 Hey psycho, I'm reporting you to the US government. My brother has a very high level job in Homeland Security, that branch that looks for nutcases like you who talk crazy talk and make threats. You think we don't hunt assholes like you, from Canada or wherever you may actually be? First we check your bank account and your history. You won't even know we're there. Then, if we think you're dangerous, we take LOTS of pictures of you from hidden places. See you soon!!
@Swoost Yeh, you're right mate, aren't we supposed to talk about the Beatles after all ? Who cares about NatureBoy210 believes or try to express as a joke ? Who does ? The only thing is that You Tube shouldn't allow such crap to be readable. But if that's not a joke, that bloke should better start looking for mental...HELP !
@NatureBoy210 And in Abbey Road Studio 2 the Daleks were hiding in the mixing desk & George Martin is Lord Voldemort & John Lennon began to wear glasses in public because he is, in fact, Harry Potters grandad
If you hear around 2:59-3:00 the rhythm guitar dissappears. There's a techincal glitch from the same studio tape, it stopped recording as the record speeds up. And on 3:42 when they reach to ''Day Tripper'' you can hear paul saying ''Yeah'' when he supossed not to do it.
Thanks to the EMI Engineers for fixing the glitch on both 2009 Mono & Stereo Remasters, but the Paul's ''yeah'' still are there xD.
forced to get more money in their pocket worthless shitheads sixties daydreamers look whos in the whitehouse since 1965 all the idols of whitesupremacy have been falling one after another.
AM radio was teeming with gold medal riffs in the '65. Combine that with the Beatles love of Roy Orbison, and it's no wonder they came up with this riff; great song.
I was ll yrs old when the Beatles came to America. I cried when I saw them and kissed Paul's picture each night before bed! I lived the sheer magic of Beatlemania. It was awesome beyond comprehension! PLEASE go to my favs and click on ALL MY LOVING. these are 2 fellow "original Beatlemaniacs" from Brooklyn New York that I grew up with singing a tribute to our favorite guys. THE BEATLES MUSICAL MAGICAL GENIUS WILL LAST FOREVER. THEY GAVE BIRTH TO MUSIC AND CHANGED OUR WORLD!
@suburbangal they did not give birth to music. they discovered and used Western musical harmony that was born in the ancient cathedrals of Europe. St. Cecilia is the patroness of our music.
Just goes to show the talent of the Beatles to write a "forced" composition and still turns out to be a classic rock song and riff. Might have been inspired by Orbison. Good edit.
It'sgreat to think of when they were totally into eachother and the music that they made. It wasn't business then. They loved what they did and they loved eachother.

There's only three takes they recorded, they never did overdubs on no one of these takes, all was live.
Take 1 - Instrumental (more like a rehershal than a take)
Take 2 - Instrumental (breaks down)
Take 3 - (Just inmediately After Take 2) Complete (All live, the only take with vocals, guitar, bass, drums, MASTER TAKE.)

THEY GAVE BIRTH TO MUSIC AND CHANGED OUR WORLD!
suburbangal 1 year ago 23
@suburbangal they did not give birth to music. they discovered and used Western musical harmony that was born in the ancient cathedrals of Europe. St. Cecilia is the patroness of our music.

Just goes to show the talent of the Beatles to write a "forced" composition and still turns out to be a classic rock song and riff. Might have been inspired by Orbison. Good edit.

@jbaggins3 Well, he should turn around and face the drummer. That way the guitars would all line up. The drummer looks funny.
