  • Marcus the salesman, okay? :D Great player too!

  • Marcus,

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to examine the schematics. If possible, I would like to know about the pre amp tubes. Are they 12ax7, how many, etc ...

    Thank you for your help,

    New York City

    D.J. Sal Z.

  • I can't add anything new here - he's great! Any vid of MM should upload with the "Like" already pressed.

  • dam he clearefied evrythin!!!

  • wow marcus is such as good explainer. love listening to this guy.

  • One of the most expressive bassists I''ve had the pleasure of listening to... hypnotic talent..

  • Marcus Miller is a DAMN good bassist. I wish he could teach me some of the slap techniques or give me a few pointers.

  • Marcus explains much more sound-shaping related stuff more clearly and useful in 6 minutes than most people on p.a. talkbass do in 5 years and 5000 posts.

  • Nice.

  • So, this preamp has all the features I've been trying to assemble myself with separate components. Sucks I found this so late into my build. Otherwise I would've pooled all my cash together for one component, instead of already buying 3 pieces and having a few more to go.

  • Well, thats ends it up nicely: Just dont go crazy, man. :D

  • Okey...

  • 4:30 , just dont go crazy man.. Haha

  • 1:01 - sounds like donkey kong front flipping on a crocodile pirate.

  • Rockers? AMPEG!

  • Ampeg is LEGITTT dude, one of the best in the business, fo reeeall!!!

  • @kirbiak90ZX ampeg way a tone and the combos and like new ampeg stuff light and neo shit like that it's just pure crap really low quallity

  • None. It's a preamp. What I'm wondering is how he is able to have a signature preamp by SWR when he always uses EBS.

  • he uses EBS cabinets, and possibly the power section from one of their amps. I'm quite sure he's been a fan of SWRs preamps for a while.

  • Fender owns SWR so they had him to leave EBS.

  • bad mofo

  • I'm surprised that he can run a PREamp straight into a cabinet without running it through a preamp first.

  • you wanted to say you are surprised that he's using a preamp straight to the cab without a ¨

    POWERAMP :)

  • Yeah, muh bad :)

  • hey..I play all styles...except metal, thou i dig most metal bands...rock on!!. But, I have posted some vidz using this pre-amp...I like this, as it gives you a great tool, without having to sound like the person designing it...you can shape a tone live or in the studio...everything from blues, to funk...and rock...etc...it works a charm...and really is a great development for bassist...cheers.

  • You are a great teacher and musician Marcus ...Keep up the good work......

  • Damn! He is an even better salesman than he is a bass player! I wish all product features were explained so clearly. Get MM to talk up all the amps.

  • Holy shit, this is awesome, I'm not really a funk or jazz player, but I would love to have this. So would you guys recommend this to some one who primarily plays rock and metal?

  • whats a matter with u!

  • no homo, but i think i just fell in love with marcus miller.

lol but seriously, i have a question: if i had this, would i still need a head? i'm pretty sure heads have preamps and such in them, but what exactly is the difference?

  • the preamp is just the coloring part of the head. if you were to buy this you would need to buy a separate power amp.

  • Killer preamp! I wouldn't even call myself a Marcus fan (more out of lack of knowledge than actual *dislike*) but I'd love to own one of the M2 Preamps, as it's full of usable functions but easy to use in the Real World.

  • The M Factor! Of all the people to colaborate with to build a preamp with lots of flexability couldn't think of anyone better than M factor. SWR are very smart working with Mr Miller.

  • oh..I uploaded a improvised jam of me using my M2 pre-amp...cheers ! doh! I highly recommend as it truly is a a kick-ass tone amp...peace !

  • ...I am using the Marcus Pre-amp with a Ken Smith...love it! cheers

  • 好象没有中国人看呢?!?

  • the bass slap tone ever.

  • MARCUS!!! YOU ARE MY IDOL !!!!!

  • Is his bass a 35 scale? it kinda looks like it.

  • Don't think so, the 5 string version of his signature model might possibly be but i'm fairly sure that the 4 is 34" scale like most other fenders.

  • No, Fender doesn't have 35" scale basses...

  • marcus just enlightened me in the ways of compression. thanks for uploading this.

  • THATS Eb!

  • Marcus is a really nice guy I hear, I'd love to meet him but I'd rather him teach me some basslines as well =)

  • He is a really nice guy. Ive met him because Ive had the privilege of going to school with his son Julian for the past six years. Every so often Marcus would come to our jazz class and do a master class with us and once an after school jam session. I will remember that for the rest of my life.

  • Thanks Marcus! You are a great guy!

  • Woo, He was playing 'Blast' :D

  • this preamp looks killer

I got to record in one of his studios!

  • this guy is pure class.

    hes really humble and considerate,

got pretty in depth with his explanations and all.

  • agreed!

wish all star musicians were like this.

  • SWR is the shit

  • Sounds like Marcus tuned his bass down a half step.

  • As if you can tell from the compressed as fu@# audio track on this Flash video.

  • yeah. You're truly an idiot.

  • Wow, he seems like a really really great dude!

  • awesome to hear how articulate marcus is. nice to the point explanation of compression.

  • great preamp

  • explanation is greater:)
