  • I only had to sit while sleeping for the first 2 nights. After that I figured out ways to lay on my back. By now - I can sleep any way I want and don't notice it anymore.

  • i gotta go for this surgery. i injured both my rotator cuffs last year and thinking it would heal on it's own.... so it still hurts. I have 1 question tho. Are you able to lie down when you sleep or do you sit up???

  • its coming up on three years...how are you doing? do you have good strength in you arm? hows your ROM?

  • @lexyota - My shoulder continues to be in great shape. I still have full range of motion and no pain. As I mentioned before, I was very diligent about doing the exercises that my physical therapist assigned. Not sure if the good results are due to the surgeon, physical therapist, my genes, or some combination of them all.

  • This is great! I'm posting videos daily of my progress. I had a slap tear repair 4/8/11. Hope your doing great now!

Orthopedtic people didn't help me besides getting me out of PE and into physical therapy

  • I found this so useful. I might need this but I'm really scared that I might. Have been having trouble with my right rotator cuff for 6 years and at the moment am 15. • I now have two screws in my shoulder. Although I have not dislocated it since it hurts every day and it's hard to sleep sometimes... Like tonight. Im usually on ibuprofen and gave some sort of muscle pain reliever roll on gel. It was worth it though. I recommend working out on a regular basis. Since then I do martial arts and now gained muscle in my shoulder and can do push ups for the first time in my life

  • I had shoulder surgery a couple years ago when I was 17. I'm loose jointed and dislocated my right shoulder 9 different times. I've had this problem since I was 10. They did an orpscopic surgery n sucked out all the loose cartilage and then cut the front open and reshaped my gasket. It is supposed to look like a circle but now mine is shaped like a t

  • Mike.. My girlfriend just went threw this operation. She is doing well except for pain control. I was wondering how you managed that. Doctor put her on Oxycodone she's been on it for six weeks and being a health conscience she is trying to ween herself off the oxycodone. She cut it way down with devastating effects. The doctor told her to slowly cut the Oxy. down gradually. Now that she is off the drug. her pain is pretty sever. Any help would be appreciated

  • @Ridgid I'm sorry that your girlfriend is having so much pain. I believe that I was given a prescription of hydrocodone - but don't remember being in much pain. For me it was more about discomfort. I'm sorry I don't have any great ideas.

  • I have a labral tear and will be getting it done in 2 weeks. wait a minute....I'm a chick...what about my boobs?

  • I have a labral tear and will be getting it done in 2 weeks.

  • Im really interested in knowing how your doing now?

  • @Monicasdestiny - I'm doing great! Once the surgery was completed I started in on the physical therapy. It was really true that the more diligent I was about the exercises - the better I got. I now have nearly 100% range of motion and good strength. I can actually swim again!

  • how do u bathe? are u allowed to remove that device i have to get my shoulder fixed as well due to a hockey injury

  • @crapcake101 - I was able to take a shower...but it was a 2 person event. If you don't have someone to share a shower with...I saw a video where a person took a shower while seated in a plastic lawn chair.
