Hey, I know you used GM for this, But may I ask how did you get those icons to come up so you can enter the houses and stuff?, Coz Im trying to implement that into my game and Im also using GM, So if I give my email, Could you give me the code or tell me how you did it please?

The way I did it in this game is overcomplicated and messy. You might want to try code that states: if player.x = 100 (or -100) from the door, than image_index=1. if if player.x = 200 (or -200) from the door, than image_index=0. (0 being no button, 1 being button) I suggest you try a few different things though, that's just one.

I'm gonna quote myself from an earlier comment if that's okay:

You can still go out and download the Xmas Engine for Game Maker, but it won't have any edits that I have made (Not that there where a lot of them XD)

I beleave this is a primitive version of the Sonic Dash engine made by (I think it's spelt) Damizian. It was the XMas Engine I believe.

Really, Well I aint much of a programmer and stuff, I do use Game Maker sometimes and all. But if you need any help or anything like that I could possibly help you out, If needed.

That's looking very good, but the background shouldn't move at the same speed as the foreground.

I haven't really touched the code on this one in a long time, but I'm almost sure the background moved at a different speed than the foreground.... Could be mistaken. Ether way this project has been reprogrammed as Sonic CD 2, so this is old stuffs. XP

It's a bit more compicated that just saying "Do this, this, There! Now you have it!". It took me years to understand Game Maker. I suggest starting off with a small game and getting bigger and better, unlike me. XD

I need to mention, This game requires a PC, running Windows 98, ME, SE, 2000, or XP. I recommend 1 GHz to play at full speed.

Nothing, really. The link is in the description. you have to download the zip, open it with WinZip (assuming your not running on XP or Vista). Extract the files to where ever and run the .exe. :)

Dude! I have to say that when this is complete, or if, it will be one good Sonic game. Sonic's 2-D side scrolling games never died and I think they never will. I must say, if this came out for the DS or PSP, It would sell like crazy! I'm downloading this demo right now!

I enjoyed it I notice that time passes by on the game after a stage are you gonna continue that also when do you think you will be done?

As in, the sunset thing? Ya, it will be part of the game. stage 1 would be about noon time, stage 2 would about about 3, stage 2 would be sunset, about 5. Stage 4 would be near night. Cool thing is - The next zone is Lava Quartz. Stage 1 and 3 will take place in caves, but stages 2 and 4 show it coming back to day, because your outside the caves. Anyhow... more on that soon ehough. :P

They are temparary characters. If I had the time, they would request you to do something. Assuming you'd say yes, You'd be given a mission. For example, the guy who looks like Sonic would ask you to take him to the next town before sundown to prove he's not Sonic to some ppl. Never had the time for it though. :P
