What if in 86, the Mets took on the Red Sox curse, I mean think of the HORRIBLE luck the mets have had since then....I don't even want to talk about it
just rented this movie. this movie SUCKS. i thought it was a baseball movie, but its just a bunch of boring jibberish and talking. i was watched about 45 minutes and the story wasnt getting anywhere, so i hit the eject button and now its time to watch "Jacob the Liar"
In 1983 Michael Keaton starred in a movie called "Mr. Mom" where he was the perfect housemom. Now a days they're telling kids born non just before this movie aired but up to ten years after this movie aired. Get a job, get a place to live, do your own housework and get your own life.
Faulting Bill Buckner for his Game 6 failure is not just a twenty year prison sentence given to the Buckner family but racism by proxy, because Mookie Wilson a black man from Montgomery Alabama was never mentioned in these years as the true hero of 1986 WS game 6
Instead of harrassing Buckner realize the REAL game 6 hero, Mets Mookie Wilson. Mookie had the fate of the entire Mets '86 season resting on him & was down to his final strike.Fouled off one nasty pitch after another until exploiting a weakness in Stanley mechanics forcing a wild pitch that saved the Mets season. Then he intentionally grounded the ball to vulnerable fielder who saw Sox season unraveling, had no chance to beat Wilson.&panicked at worst time becoming victim of circumstance.
Absolutely. All the talk about Buckner was stupid. It was Mookie's primal instinctual die-hard at-bat that saved that series. A lot of guys would choke trying to get the big hit. He played it pitch by pitch.
And he beats that play anyway, doesn't he? Buckner was on the line but deep enough behind the bag with the ball moving slowly and Mookie tearin' it up out of the box. Almost like a long drag bunt.
It just looked really bad for Buckner at that point, that's all. He doesn't deserve blame.
wilson did not intentionally hit the ball at buckner, but when he relized it was goin to him he thought he could beat him to first, he was trying to get the ball in play since the game was then tied
Do you agree with me that people are cowards to admit that they spent 20 yrs beating on poor Bill Buckner like a wounded animal while not admitting that a black man from Montgomery Alabama named Mookie Wilson was better and brighter than they were in that he created the tying run and the winning run in the greatest single inning World series comback ever?
ya i do, the red sox just won 2 world series in the past 3 seasons, people just need to put that behind them. Bill Buckner was just shit outta luck, it happens
blueeagles8, i'm telling you this was baseball fans racism against Mookie Wilson, the true hero of game 6 who found a way to personnaly get home the tying run and the winning run, of the Mets most critical win in their 46 year history. It was easy to make fun of Bill Buckner and torture him for twenty years because, he had the courage to put his reputation on the line to save a team that didn't deserve to be champions, and lost, because the good guys won.
Lay off Buckner.Hell,I'm a Tigers fan,if you wanna feel dissapointment jump aboard this train.People put that whole game on his shoulders. did you forget about the past ball by the catcher that tied thhe game. Cripe, how many hits were given up with 2 outs.Even if Buckner would have made the play, the Redsox would have then gone into the 11th with a tie game.Who knows if they would have won the game anyway.Read what stevenv23 wrote (below).Everyone still forgets that the Redsox blew game 7
Thank You! Go Mets! You guys must of been pissed at what happened this year but its ok. I know the Mets are gonna make a strong run these next two season. Hopefully both teams can meet in an upcomming World Series. Go Sox! Go Mets! YANKEES SUCK
redsoxfanforlife04....youre a fuckin dumbass. IT WASNT THE BOTTOM OF THE NINTH. IT was BOTTOM OF THE TENTH. Im only 19 years old and die hard astros fan and i know that! WHAT A BITCH!!
Yes but think this. Buckner didn't do a damn thing to help the team win did he? And that fiasco at first in a World Series game, well, he may have just farted out loud on the microphone.
ATTENTION MET FANS I am currently going have a met poll question every week if you want to vote in it comment ON MY PAGE YOUTUBEDOTCOM/GMANCENA14 OR CLICK MY NAME with your answer and the poll question (copy and paste it.) I will have the results of the previous QUESTION ON MY PAGE VOTE IN EVERY WEEKS QUESTION AND CHECK OUT THE RESULTS
wtf buckner how cud u let that routine grounder go thru ur legs listen to that kid "THE RED SOX WON IT" think of how many kids and parents cryed and were put down that nite i mean to blow a 2 run lead withy no one on 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th the Mets were packin their bags (i mean my dad wuz at his frends house all bouncin makin phone calls to his yankee fan freinds and then wen the error happened he ran out of the house tearing)
u r dumb..u cant blame it all on him...watch the game over again...an isnt that game 6?? so wat happened to game 7?? did he commit that error in that game too? no didnt think so, they still had a chance to win game 7 too and didnt
that really wasnt his fault, calvin schiraldi blew a 2 run lead in the bottom of the ninth and that had nothing to do with buckner. he also started the rally in game 5 of the 86 alcs that began the comeback. Buckner was a great player with one unfortunate moment
ur an idiot, ur so oblivios to wat happened. Buckner had an injury and could not bend all the way down and touch the floor, the manager of the Red Sox saw tht they were up by 2 and believed Buckner could manage the 1 inning since he didnt believe his team could lose.
actually what happened was Buckner looked up to see where Mookie was cause he was so fast, then when he looked back down the ball was through his legs already.
thanx for posting that!
sadly i cant find it on the internet :(

To most Red Sox fans game 6 always meant the great game 6 of the 75 world series vs. the Reds with Fisk's home run. That is until 10-25-86.
jaytf123 2 years ago
The real key was the wild pitch-past ball thrown by Bob Stanley and muffed by Rich Gedman, There's your game right there, not Wilson's hit.

@jaytf123 At last, an astute observation that people forget about.

Michael Keaton is a mercenary. In real life he's as much of a Mets fan as Billy Joel, and Glenn Close.

blueeagles8, you're right. but the mets had great team chemistry that year, and they proved it by putting an inning for the ages together on 10/25/86
