  • I know Dudley Dorival and his family, I grew up with them. Rooted for him when he ran in the Olympics for Haiti.

  • @oRuTRa45 Thank you now the research starts. This is not only for myself but also for my mixed son. He will know more about his European side more then my side and I want him to embrace everything that he is.

  • To add the list, Jason Derulo :)

  • Dudley Dorival is not a soccer player but an Olympic Hurdler.

  • I don't care about a lot of these Haitians because they do nothing for the beautiful country of Haiti. Bump all of them !

  • Does anyone know what part of Africa Haitians are from? Because I really want to know many Africans have told me Nigeria and the Congo is that true? I am Haitian I was adopted as young child.

  • @MsTomas086 HISTORY SAID WE WERE Moors.

  • @deleoa471 we are

  • @MsTomas086 Ues that is true akso Benin Africa.. Were you adopted by Haitian?

  • @MsTomas086

Most Haitians come from Dahomey, now called Benin. It's near Nigeria.

  • @MsTomas086 Benin and what are now Guinea

  • @MsTomas086

it depends, there is evidence in the language and songs that many o fthe slaves were from Dahomey modern day Benin ( the ewe especially) also Yoruba (nago) and Igbo influences as well as Senegambian ( wolof and mandingo/mandinka) different peoples from the Congo are represented as well. I hope you can find out more about your roots , its a great thing, you should do African Ancestry test.

  • @MsTomas086 yep most haitians are descendants of west africa

  • WATCH "EXPLIZIT FEAT. E-MONEY LIFE IN THE FASTLANE"

  • @Zisin2day Vanessa williams is 100% HAITIAN and she speak creole..

  • @Zisin2day I AGREE THAT NAME IS NOT HAITIAN AT ALL THAT A AFRO AMERICAN NAME WHO TOLD YOU THAT SHE HAITIAN ?

  • @deleoa471 My father last name is Bernard now is that a everyday Haitian name NO, Vanessa Williams (dark skin) is a 100% Haitian Spoken Creole in many of her interview. Has won many Haitian actor awards. Do your research before you think someone is Haitian or not because of there last name, skin color, or the way they look or sound period. Google is a finger away

  • @oolibrice YEA BERNARD IS A HAITIAN LAST NAME WILLIAMS IS A BLACK AMERICAN LAST NAME TRUST ME SHE IS NOT HAITIAN SHE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE NICE BODY LIKE THEM SEXY HAITIAN WOMAN LOL

  • Alot of these ppl u showed are Haitian American. In Maxell's case I read he's Haitian/Puerto Rican American. The thing you can never overlook when talkin about anybody in America is the fact that, In Most Cases, the biggest influence on them isn't their ancestry;it's AMERICA!! Their more of a product of America than anything else. Attributing most of who they are to their ancestry is unrealistic! Our culture's the biggest influence on 'em, especially when u talkin music artist (Maxell/Tony YaYo)

  • why eactly should i care about some Haitians in the public eye not doing shit for Haiti...i really dont care

  • YO 4:16!

  • Blake Griffin Los Angeles Clippers , jeff luc florida state university football , Cliff Avril Detroit lions, Pierre Garçon Indianapolis Colts

  • Blake Griffin Los Angeles Clippers , jeff luc florida state university football , Cliff Avril Detroit lions

  • @chikaduraka I didn't have to Google anyone to know that they are Haitian. Most of these people I've worked with as stated in this video. Or I know them personally and 2 of them I went to school with. Just cause you don't know them don't mean other don't. The only ones that I never worked with was Wyclef but no need for that.

  • @chikaduraka I would think that u would do some research before talking. Googling the people names or going to their personal website n read there bio would tell you alot. Just cause someone doesn't go out every day like Wycelf and run around with the flag doesn't mean that he or she is less Haitian. Everyone in this video is Haitian Mother and Father or mother or father. People don't know that V. Williams and Maxwell doesn't alot for Haiti but they don't make it a media show. Which I RESPECT

  • Thank you for this vid it was amazing. I hope ppl will realize that Haitians come in all different colors and talents. We are a nation that will keep growing

  • Thanks so much for creating this video. Most of the videos that I see about Haitian celebrities want to simply focus on putting the mulattoes or to be frank the lighter skinned Haitians out there only proving that there are lighter skinned Haitians out there. In this video you showed wonderful Haitian celebrities of all skin color hues. And for that I applaud you and I love this video. Excellent job.

  • @Beauty2Beauty man yall crazy arguing over the internet.. leave her alone she wanna be spanish, i hope she not from Jersey cause i know this crazy haitian hoe named tasha that i went to school.. shr said the same thing in my class one time and they made her look lame in the period..lols i hope this not natasha

  • @MegaDre19 I just wanted to point out that just because haiti is located in latin america our culture is quite different from most latinos. Haitians are more conservative. I think it would be sad for a haitian to stand in public and claim to be a latina because we are not listed as such, and most of haitians wouldn't want to be latinas after how the dominicans treated them for years. It's like how most African Americans claim to be mix with white or indian all nonsense

  • @Beauty2Beauty haitians are latino.... yes we are very conservative people but our culture is very much the same as the dominicans no matter what we went through with one another. Crazy I have to get some dominicans together to do an interview

  • @oolibrice Dear... I'm haitian and I AM NOT latino : Spanish is not my mother tongue. Most dominicans are black or mixed... Latino would mean as it is widely used to have spanish (and even protuguese) as our mother tongue or be from European latin countries : Italy, Spain, Romania... and so on... Haitians do NOT correspond to those criterias, I really DO NOT see how you can call me latina. My husband is to some extent, French with Spanish heritage... but I'm not !

  • @VyNaturally sweet heart if you are Haitian you are Latino if you are from Haiti you are from a Latin American country if you speak Creole or French you speak a Latin language spanish isnt the only latin language out there. I will hope you will take the time and watch my latino in america video.

  • Comment removed

  • @VyNaturally The ? 4 u is, ARE YOU SMARTER than a 5 grader. Every1 dat has graduated Elementary school should know that Haiti is a Latin American Country. Latin America isn't a Continent nor a country. Latin America countries our the countries of the Americas dat were developed from Spain, Portugal, and France. Countries that speak romantic languages IN DA AMERICAS. U can be part of the Caribbean and be part of Latin America. Now I hope dat u will not say anything else dumb and google the facts.

  • @oolibrice Oh my... nothing funnier when a ghetto ass stupid girl calls people dumb, I am not even mad but laughing at the irony here. I did mention that geographically we are in Latin America, but commonly speaking, because of the meaning widely given to the term ''latino'', we are not. And you know that darn well. But if it makes you feel special that you are latina... sweetie go ahead with your so called Spanish heritage...

  • @VyNaturally Ghetto! Don’t think dat u can offend me. NOW THAT’S THE IRONY! da fact that u didn’t know dat Haiti is a Latin American nation means dat u R NOT on my level. I never called u dumb. that is title that u just gave 2 yourself. FYI! DA USA started using da word Latino in da 1970 2 include n exclude who they want. da REAL meaning of Latino doesn’t mean solely Spanish speaking people.

  • @VyNaturally Don’t think dat u can offend me. da fact that u didn’t know dat Haiti is a Latin American nation means dat u R NOT on my level. I never called u dumb. that is title that u just gave yourself. FYI! DA USA started using da word Latino in da 1970 2 include n exclude who they want. da REAL meaning of Latino doesn’t mean solely Spanish speaking people. A Latin American nation isn’t solely a nation dat is Spanish speaking. Some1 dat is 4m Spain isn’t a Latino, Latino R Latin Americans.

  • @VyNaturally Now do you even know what the Caribbean is or mean . The word Caribbean comes from the word Carib. Caribs are people! The indigenous people that comes from a large surrounding of water which is now called the Caribbean. The Caribbean is nothing but a large chain of islands which are under water mountains. The island of Hispaniola Haiti and DR is the 2nd biggest of the chain of islands in the Caribbean. You can find Caribs living 2day on almost ever single Caribbean island even Haiti

  • You can say that geographically we are from latin america, and thus geographically can be considered as latinos, but ethnically and linguistically speaking, which is the common and largely accepted definition of latino, WE ARE NOT ! And I'll stick to that ! Besides, Dominicans just so reject Haitians, I don't see why I should prey on being what they are, latinos, or black latinos.

  • @VyNaturally Haitians R African people but at the end of the day just cause we dont looked as mixed as the dominican doesnt mean that we arent. Haitians culture is the same like Cubans PR DR and Africans and we eat the same stuff we are nothing like the USA African Americans. Who says dominicans reject haitians you are talking to a female that has dominicans in her family . Because of slavery we are now many things spend time with a PR african dominican cuban and see what is true or false.

  • @oolibrice I don't consider them latino ethnically, they're black. I will however accept to refer to them as latinos, because of the language they speak solely. And no, our culture is not the same as theirs, there are many resemblances, and similarities. I'm not going to call myself Brazilian just because they share those same similarities... And there are similiraties with USA African Americans, and differences as well...When latinos call themselves latino, they know what they refer to, not us!

  • @VyNaturally Dominicans are not all black Dominicans they are a mixed race of people. The one drop rule which was created in the USA doesn’t apply all over the world. Again just cause you speak Spanish doesn’t mean that you are a Latino. There is over 150 Latin languages and Haitian Creole and French are one. Learn the history of the country your greats died in.who told you to call yourself brazilian. What do we have in common with African American other than slavery?

  • @oolibrice We're both speaking to walls apparently, so there is no point in continuing this conversation.

  • @oolibrice

    i sooo agree with you...

the one drop rule, only applies to america.. other nations doesn't see that...

for example, in brazil.. many people are mixed race, it was encouraged so to make different races into one..

in europe, there isn't a one drop rule.. and many mixed people embraces most their races . people can not compare the american experience to other nations experiences because its different! their history is different, from black america!!

  • @VyNaturally ya but you are from a latin country u speak a latin languagee yu don consider urself as latino but you are latinooooo

  • @JAmaicaHAitiShawty Haitian Creole is French based, English Based, Spanish based, even American Indian and African languages based... So I'm what French, English, Spanish, American Indian, and African... ? Thank you for the confusion ? loll. Our creole is partly latin based, not totally. So to those who want to sweat their latin heritage go ahead and be latino... but don't sweat that in front or the REAL ones Shawty... ;)

  • @VyNaturally Haitian Creole is based on many langs. but mostly French and African langs. When they talk about Haiti on the new they acknowledge Haiti as a Latino county. The real one you are not if you don’t know what titles Haitian people falls into. Which is many! I'm working on getting Haitians artist on the Latin Grammy. the reason we haven’t been yet is because Haitian artist dont license there music you have to be license to nominated but they dont want to pay for that.

  • @oolibrice Everyone is mixed and is many things. In France for instance, the vast majority of the Whites have diverse ethnic origins. They only call themselves French however, they don't sweat anything else. Why is it that some Haitians just suddenly (or always have) want to be many things ? Is it because it is ''cooler' ?

  • @VyNaturally Since the begining of time people were mixed b/c all man comes from the african man. . It has nothing to do with being cool. Its about taking the titles that really belong to you duh. We arent really haitians we are africans. the true haitians were the native people. The title Haitians now belong to us cause we live on that island just like the title latino because we speak a latin langs. When we become haitians we became latinos. DUH you cant take one with out taking the other

  • @oolibrice Yes you can. The identity you relate yourself to is a choice.

  • @VyNaturally You fight it because you really didnt know that haitians fall under the latino title it self. yeah you choice what you want to call yourself but its even crazy to me when I see a bi racial children only call her self black but let that bi raical child call herself only white I know people are going to have a problem with it. at the end of the every piece of you is what makes you, you

  • @oolibrice I knew all along that Haitian Creole, being partly Spanish and French based can be considered to be a latin based language. And I still what the 'term ''latino'' in North and South America (where I live) still refers to for most people : specific ethnic features and Spanish speaking, so no, in that sense, which is the commonly used, I stick to my point, feeling, and belief : we're not latinos. I don't feel latin. And I am what I chose to be. Don't think you are teaching me anything.

  • @VyNaturally sweet heart im not trying to have call urself anything u dont want 2 call urself. but at the end of the day Haitians are latino. Haitian dont only speak creole we also speak french I SPEAK FRENCH. Creole is hardly spanish base its mostly latin based and due to the fact that its latin base all latin langs are based around each other. The true meaning of the world include haitian. Time 4 a new video. The international press includes Haiti.

  • @oolibrice Haitians speak French... tell me something I don't know ! Unlike what you think, most Haitians DO NOT speak French. Unly the educated ones do so. And education is not what the Haitian government spend most money on. Education is accessible only to a few ! Therefore, so is French. The basic meaning of the word ''latino'' is not the common meaning of it. That you know. So regarding the common meaning, Haitians are no latinos. But if you want to stretch it to the basis, yes, in a way.

  • @VyNaturally Creole is not modern day French but more so 17 and 18 century French all langs change w/ time. USA don’t speak da old English nor do we speak the ENGLAND English. We speak the American English. Even da way dat we spell is not da right way. The real way to spell Favorite is Favourite. The real way to speak Labor is Labour. Education use to be free in Haiti most chose not to live port au price so they didnt get that free education. da basic mean has change when we became mixed people.

  • @oolibrice I don't know how it is over there, where you live, but here in Canada, and for most Haitians in Haiti, the basic meaning of the world latin ? They could not care less about it ! Next to them in Haiti is the Dominican Republic, they call them ''panyol'' and do not call themselves that. Haitians in Canada, and for most in Haiti, the common sense of latino does not apply to them. Same here for me. And I stick to that.

  • @VyNaturally Now your talk to a haitian that is very educate about her culture. Now do you know what the world panyol means sweet heart. It means Spanish speaking. A lot of haitians isnt educated enough to know where they fall. They call anyone that speak spanish panyol lol are you freaking kinding me I call my sister and brother panyol cause they speak spanish. They mother is Dominican we call our cousin that are part cuban the same. Haitians are the same where ever you go. Canada to the USA

  • @oolibrice Why are so imbued with yourself to not realize that you are not teaching me anything dear. I don't need your translation of the word ''panyol'' and I, unlike you, assumed you knew the meaning of it. And that is why I pointed it out to you. And yes they call ANYONE that speak spanish that, mostly the (real) latinos because there are not so much REAL Spanish people in North America (mostly when you compare to the american latinos.

  • @VyNaturally I'm not trying to teach you a thing at the end of the day remember you left a comment on my channel not the other way around yt gave me an option to reply and that is what I did. remember you cant teach ignorant people i understand that one of the problems Haiti has today. America isnt just USA its Canada, mexico Haiti cant change true meaning of words. You can close your eyes and mouth but at the end of the day the truth is the truth. You may not include us but we are included.

  • @oolibrice In the end ''panyol'' came to mean ''latino'' to the vast majority of Haitians. And since they don't call themselves that, they don't consider themselves as latino, which is my point. They're okay with the other identities they gave to themselves. While perhaps, they should be knowleadgeable about their ''latin'' (mostly linguistically speaking here) origin, they don't have to identify to it. It's maybe good to point it out. But trust me, they're not gonna feel latino for most !

  • @VyNaturally where did you get your education? Are you even haitian? no disrespect any Haitian knows the word panyol means Spanish speaking not Latino. Espanola= panola =payold common sense isn’t common sense anymore. You should say that you equal latino with panola. Cause as a Haitians you don’t know what the word means. You can not change a true meaning of a word. How do you feel Latino? I'm African and Haitian but I don’t feel like neither. I'm human like everyone else that speak many langs.

  • @oolibrice Wow, are you purposely being dumb ? Or does it come naturally to you ? Either ways it is utterly becoming irritating. Really. Don't you know that words evolve to collectively mean something else decades or centuries after ? Don't you ? Even if ''panyol'' means apanish speaking, basically, since latino-americans speak spanish as well just like people from Spain themselves, and since Spanish citizens are fewer in Haiti (or inexistant) and in other parts of America the continent...

  • @VyNaturally LA are people in the Americas that speak romantic lang. The languages the we speak is just that Kreyòl ayisyen and French and Kreyòl ayisyen is included in that. Looking up romantic langs will make you stop saying dumb stuff. i love doing videos on youtube cause people like you give me reasons to do videos. Words can evolve 2 many things but u can not change the true meaning 2 a word duh. Many people on my video agree one clueless mind stays that way. thats why i make video on yt

  • @oolibrice Correction : words meaning DO change ! Mainly because people change, evolve and misuse words. For instance, the word ''con'' -which in any French dictionary means : stupid, imbecile, dumb- centuries ago meant : a woman's sex/ vagina. Now if that is not a word changing meaning... Many English words and other living languages words had diffrent meaning in another era. Why ? Because of people themselves, their habits and usage of a word. Same thing for the ''latino'' or ''panyol''....

  • @VyNaturally meaning to words can not be changed it can be added to. thats why in the dictionary we see dates and country to say when the word came if its old english or if its new english to say also what country is it from. A word in french doesnt mean the same in english or spanish.

  • @VyNaturally Why does she care we are seen as Latinos? What is so precious about that? They don't even promote their own Black people, look at telemundo , only the whitest looking Latinos up there.

  • @TruthdontneedDefense Do you even understand what your saying. Latino is not a race its a cultrue of people anyone could be latino the fact that haiti is a latin american county already means that we latino. Why I would want us to be latino? Why would I want to be AFRCIAN the truth is BECAUSE WE ARE. You can not change who you really are b/c of history. DUH

  • @VyNaturally Their basic meanings have no
