I just did this now and it worked thanks man, I usually have to keep a disk in the tray to get it to open but one of my family members forgot to put the disk in so it could open

just use a paper clip and poke around the bottom of the disc drive after pushing eject and it should pop open. look up a Perminant Fix, which is actually cleaning the gears and such on the inside of the disc drive. slammin your box could damage it especially if you know how delicate the inside of the system could be in the older models
