  • Well, Klaus was a prick and thief (as almost every member of parliament in our country till today), when he was part of the goverment for quite long time till 98 or so. Then he went into "low profile" mode and his ideas became more mature. And even more after he became president.

So I have quite mixed feelings about him due to his history, but I am very glad, that he deputize our country at these times and that he's not afraid of speaking out loud about these topics, ty Mr. Klaus.

  • That our representatives DARE to leave the chamber when listening to someone with another point of view. It is not their right neither do they have my permission as their elector to act thus. Shame is not enough for these deniers of freedom of speech and expression. They should be brought before the courts for failing in their duty to represent those who elected them.

  • Klaus is right, but he is an extreme populist...

  • Funny that these idiots can't take the advice of a man who understands. I admire this president.

  • THE EU hate the truth

  • I am Polish and I envy Czechs to have such a GREAT PRESIDENT!!!

  • @kz888888 I regret the loss of your president in a plane crash. I Know They Were Allies against this Beast named EU

  • Je to dosť skúsený politik, na to aby nevedel, že to ako oni odídu nič nezmení, kamery bežia

  • After two years passed, he is more right like then ! Vašek vie...

  • music from WOW, lol

  • Klaus is right

  • Looking at the events since Klaus made this speech we can all see that he was right. The EU is siimply not interested in hearing what its citizens have to say or what they want. These debauched politicians simply want us to pay the bill to fund their ego trips.

  • The EU has failed!!! Bring back the EEC and send these clowns, not Klaus, he is a hero!! back to their countries! The communist/socialist dream/nightmare is over: The EU/EURO has failed!!!!

  • Klaus is a hero!

  • I pray for the day, when all those EU parasites are tied to the lanterns of our streets.

  • @koprolalist I will second that.

  • fucking EU commies, centralization of power is a commie idea. keep everything local so your voice can be heard.

  • Czechs should be proud of such president. In today politics he's a true gem.

  • @krokeman mass media made many Czechs to disband and disbelieve in him :((

  • But because he very well know what he were doing himself, and what the system in whole was doing to it's people

You don't have man who is protecting and fighting for democracy, but man, who from first hand experience can give you very wide field of view on 1/10 of what that system were doing to its people.

Yes he is right, yes he stood up and said it, no he don't deserves uplifting and idealizing of people from true free and democratic nations

Don't let your guard down, even when hes true, now

  • Don't idealize him, he was during deep totality ( communism ) allowed to study and travel into London. This was only allowed to the best and very proven ( by stress tests, psychology and complex and various tasks ) citizens and followers of the most ruthless system humanity ever encountered.

If you think that is long past, you are truly a victim of Communist propaganda and deceived by it.

Although he is right, and his points are proven, its not because he is democratic and free open minded

  • @flashbeaster Is there any evidence for your claims about his non democratic roots? Klaus is in politics for 20 years. Does he behave nondemocraticly anytime?

  • That German guy at the end represented what Germany really wants? ...work for Europe, unity, peace and democracy? ...In light of recent global matters I think he lied. Peace looks different. Moreover he used some nasty methods of propaganda. Putting nice terms together to make European integration nicer. Is this what I (as tax payer) expect from such high level and expensive politician? Definitely not...

  • @HandbuchHuelle Some of the strongest anti EU opinions I hear come from German friends.

  • "each side of this house, filling our corridors, aggressively and competitively pursuing their points of view"

Yes, democracy is what they call it.

  • @GreatMan275 You had great politicians: Karel IV, Jiriho z Podebrad, Masaryk. And even Benes was much more better than Klaus. If he would love the czech nation, he would´t try to split the society. It is easy to by a populist politician. To use the fears and doubts of the people - every better promotion assistent can force his clients in this way.

A chtěla bych slyšet od něho alespoň jednou jeden vtip. Nerozumím, jak tolik Čechů může tak nehumorného člověka obdívovat.

  • @GreatMan275 Yes, I should. Because my kids are half czech. And I´m afraid about their future, if we will live still here in the next years. And European union: you know somebody who´s work there. Or your informations are only from media like youtube? Try it a little bit more your own way. You will see more a not black and white. When Klaus is such a great politician, why he cannot not critic the European union in a more acceptual way? So he is not more than a populist.

  • This is a GREAT EUROPEAN LEADER!!!!

  • This is a GREAT EUROPEAN LEADER!!!!

  • Great man, Czechs, be proud.

  • Czech President: Unrest must end, state must intervene with force

  • @iEatBoneDust lol... CHECK the correct information. You know why he said that?

  • If he;s so great than why is he trying to censor DSSS?

  • the eu parliament are like the new world order or illumanti fucking wankers they will be crushed one way or another. Walking out because you cant listen to an anti eu and its not very anti eu anyway what klaus says, i would tell them all to shut the fuck up when they heckle fucking money bitches

  • 70% of Czechs support Vaclav Klaus....he is the best politician in our country

  • It is the mandate of "power systems" to seek MORE power...a NON Democratic system will only seek to solidify its control and power, and has no consideration for the democratic process and will seek only self protection....yet we all stand by while the world slides into less freedom and more and more control by partisan political monkeys...

  • World of Warcraft Ashenvale music in the background? :D

  • Sorry, but Klaus is asshole (this is the only good deed he has ever done) :/

BTW Im citizen of the Czech Republic, I was born here and my family is living here for centuries...

  • From an American and a student of history, the EU truly does scare me.It seems like someone has simply convinced national leaders to merely accept the very thing that made Napoleon a historical villain.

I do take comfort in the fact that no one knows who the President of the EU is, while Cameron, Merkel, Sarkozy, etc. are all still in the news. It's proof that national governments still have real power.

  • @UmbraFracta What do you know about us Europeans? Not much I guess, if you think that the present European Union is comparable with Napoleon's empire. Allthough Klaus is absolutely right about the bureacrats in Europe, the idea of the European Union is a good one, something that we can't do without in these times. So many small countries stand much stronger when united.

However, care must indeed be taken to preserve democracy within the european union.

  • @radeczek555 Hitler wanted to create a 1 Europian Union for himselve and tought he was a God.

Now we have the same thing in a parlement of +500 people.

The only problem is, is that almost al the people in that parlement have the same opinion, so its practicly the same.

So watch who you call a small Hitler.

I can bet you cant name the EU president, just like +80% of the citizense of Europe.

No EUcitizen has been able to vote on him, he is just selected by this same group.

  • @radeczek555 wake up,,look whats happen in EU,,idiot...

  • funny thing that he himself forced his opinion on a whole country more than just once

  • @radeczek555

    blablabla

  • The Czech President Vaclav Klaus is a world hero for making his stand against the openly fascist and criminal led EU project. Shame on the corrupt and anti democratic EU loving scumbags that continually interupted President Vaclav Klaus' brilliant speech.

  • The sooner the EUSSR dies the better.

  • What a powerful and absolutely spot on speech from Klaus. The EU has become the new USSR.

  • @george385 More like Venezuela, vote as many referendums as possible and eventually they will get what they want. Look at Ireland, forced to vote twice the failed Lisbon Treaty

  • Szacunek!!!

  • Real Man !

    Respect !!

  • That's my president, it's a good man and speaks the truth always. Multiculturalism is destroying European civilization, it is a tool of dictators to destroy Europe. The EU is headed by dictators want to destroy Europe. Fucking tolerance, fairness, Multikulturalismus.Evropa Europe is not Eurabia.

  • Um Himmel's Willen und, im INNIGST empfundenen Sinne der Worte, in GOTTES Namen, BEFREIT UNS BITTE JEMAND VOM WÜRGEGRIFF DER GEWALTHERRSCHAFT DIESES BLINDWÜTIGEN MOLOCHS "EU". ER IST VOLLKOMMEN DEMOKRATIELOS UND VÖLLIG FREI VON DEMOKRATISCHEN ABSICHTEN! WIR, DIE IN DER BUNDESREPUBLIK DEUTSCHLAND LEBEN, WISSEN NUR ALLZU GUT, WIE ES SICH IN EINER GESELLSCHAFT LEBT, IN DER TAGTÄGLICH, DIESES UNRECHTSREGIME "BRÜSSEL" ÄMTLICH, OHNE WIDERREDERECHT ANGEBETET WIRD!

    Grüße,

    Horatio Nelson.

  • For heaven's sake and, in the GENUINE heartfelt sense of the words, in GOD'S name, PLEASE RID US OF THIS BLINDLY AND DEAFLY TYRANNICAL JUGGERNAUT NAMING ITSELF "EU". IT IS TOTALLY BEREFT OF DEMOCRACY AND DEMOCRATIC MOTIVES!. WE HERE IN GERMANY KNOW TOO WELL THE PRESENT DAY, POLITICAL AND SOCIAL BONDAGE PROMOTED BY CONSTANT OFFICIAL WORSHIP OF THE ANATHEMA KNOWN AS THE "EUROPEAN UNION"!

    Regards,

    Horatio Nelson.

  • What a fucking disgrace that they left while this great man was speaking. Fucking stupid assholes. Cannot stand any criticism. Getting paid for stabbing the European people in the back. This must end, before they enslave the European member states with dept the member states cannot possible repay and leaving behind thousands and thousands of stupid ass, dumb laws, which are only for the rich multinationals and hold nothing good for the people. Look at the criminal supplement law. disgraceful.

  • @alexusdelarge - a real disgrace indeed. They have no shame. They are not even aware of how ridiculous they look because that place and their status has redeemed them of any dignity they may have had.

  • @alexusdelarge Hanz-Gert reminds me that not only communist are there. How similar style of speech this guy have to very pure evil with short moustache. And whole plan appears to me very clearly.

  • there a mason at 0:29 white glove with his chains like a freemason

  • Klaus is always right...

  • Respect for this man. He is a true democrate.

Within years, the only difference with the former USSR will be the color of the flag.

Welcome in the EUSSR with a non-democratic never elected man as president.

It will not remain on long terms; it will fall apart as democracy belonged to the people not by technocrates in Brussels...!!

  • Im proud to be Czech ! I hate EU.

  • I don't like Klaus even though I'm Czech, but damn, those PMs sound like little children in a kindergarden.

  • The European Union = Communism

  • @europarl - What Pottering says is that "if it wasn't for the powers granted to the parliament in the lisbon treaty, bureaucracy would be making the decisions in Europe". The completely erroneous translation runs "If it wasnt for.......,the citizens of Europe would decide themselves directly". That, if anything, he would never say.

  • I am proud of my president, he is a brave man.

  • I love this video. It shows the level of democracy in EU.

It is not there - nowhere!

When you are not agreed to let another opinien come to voice. When you are not ready to discuss issues - then there is no democracy anymore.

This might as well be the Soviet Union. And it is.

One day the democratic powers in Europe will put up a statue of Václav Klaus with the full quote of this speech.

  • agree or disagree with what he says who gave those people the right to BUUu. For a second I though he was preaching kids of elementary school but afterall he wasn`t so far away,.

  • Clearly a trollface situation @ 2:08

  • I am scared from speech in German language even I don't understand it.Go to hell EU .. I am not citizen of EU but only of my country...Hope this stupid federation will finish soon..

  • @pejsiwitr move it to finland?

  • wtf world of warcraft music in background ? :D

  • @demetronix

Hahaha, yeah . Gonna reroll a NE now.

  • Wow... This video proves how easily people can be manipulated by slight changes in intranslation, using the language barrier. Pöttering does NOT say "under the Lisbon Treaty, the citizens of Europe would decised themselves directly, ..."

Pöttering sais: "...under the Lisbon Treaty, bureaucrecy would decide, ..." Bürokratie and Demokratie sound similar but are not the same.

Shame on you if you claim to be democratic and then try to manipulate people in such a profane way!

  • BOSS ... this is boss :D

  • Vaclav Klaus is evidently the most sensible leader in Europe. More respect from America.

  • @BartBrown78 sure, he can steal a pen with smile.

  • 5:50 WoW music lol... thumbs up

  • @FasTFooD123456789 lold.. but its true..

  • Where is my pen ?

  • Klaus, an infamous "architect of transformation" in the 90s (as Finance Minister), corruption, super swindles in voucher privatization enriching nomenclature is here showing - live - how he is "privatizing" a protocol pen.

In spirit of the uniquely Czech saying which generations of Czechs were raised on: "The one who DOESN'T steal is (actually) robbing his (own) family".

But Glenn Beck (see YouTube), Putin and Czech communist (whose MPs voted him twice, in 2003 + 2008, into office) love him

  • @CzechInterpreter Yep and you show us one of inglorious Czech traditon - to slander your neighbour. Transformation of excomunist ecconomy of Czech republic is an issue for an university course. What you claimed here is just an indecent lie...

  • Are you one of those YouTube echte conservative sites which DO NOT allow comments (or submit them to their ideological censorship, thus no coments negative to Klaus presentation are posted)?

  • HERO

  • This is just centralization what the EU wants to do, just look at 30's in first Czechoslovakia, it was democracy level just like in USA and it was pure freedom, almost the level of USA!

  • Hey Klaus is that a ball point pen in your pocket or are you just happy to see me.

  • That german 2nd speaker reminds me Führer.

  • WHY IS TEHRE WOW SOUNDTRACK? XDD

  • Klaus is moron. My respect from the Czech republic.

  • Pen stealer!

  • Freedom from pens!

  • @otaria123 kdybys uměl číst, blbečku, přečetl by sis, že to pero byl dárek pro Klause, a takhle si ho vzal jen proto, že ho baví dělat z vás větší blbce!!! :-P

  • I think he steal something.

  • Though i'm always skeptical about politicians He's right.

  • he needs a pen

  • pen stealer!! XD

  • Wow Klaus that is great advice, and before i forget it let me just write it down, wait... where'd my pen go???

  • @PigiaMimi no, it is his twin

  • enjoy freedom while it lasts. new world order is closer then you think.

  • @holypaladinpewpew Just about 10 more generations. I won't be here by then.

  • STANDS UP FOR FREEDOM... and steals pen afterwards :P

  • Klaus has always believed when it comes to standing up for freedom, the pen is mightier than the sword.

  • what an arse

  • Vaclav Klaus is so right. And he speaks from his own experience. EU does not like and accept other opinions. It becomes slowly a totalitarian state. Step by step but more and more.

  • Where is my pen?

  • @kissesbloody exactly! what do you expect from a pen-stealing east european politician, surely not respect for the european values.

  • lol

  • Comment removed

  • WHAT A BRAVE MAN!

  • In the past, we in America didn't get to vote for Senators, it was the State legislators that did, until the 17th amendment. You know why the Founding Fathers did it this way? Because we were too stupid, and they were actually right then. But now we're less stupid and the EU works under the impression that we're still too stupid to elect our representatives. The Left and NWO love giving power to the State and keeping the People as far from the politicians and legislation as possible.

  • Klaus is awesome, but rest of leaders in my country are fools and pigs, its unbeliveble what our politics are daring to do! I'am proud of my president!

  • Klaus is great. My respect from the USA

  • @frankzakzak Thank you very much from the Czech Republic.:-)

  • @frankzakzak My thanks from CZ ,pp

  • @frankzakzak Ron Paul is so great too :) Respect for RON and Rand Paul's True heros on this time !

  • @chemik87PL Good comment. Greetings to Poland! :-)

  • @frankzakzak thank you, he stands for freedom and democracy

  • ''Where there is no opposition, there is no freedom''.

    Neat one-liner.

  • @SwedxSimon02 It's as much neat as it's wrong. You always have people who are opposed of something and are therefore in opposition.

    The correct one-liner should be:

"Where there is no opposition allowed, there is no freedom."

  • It was pathetic how those people who didn't agree with him walked out while he was still talking.

What's that sci-fi film where the people who have been taken over by aliens all point and scream at anyone who they detect is "not one of us" ? Invasion of the Bodysnatchers...???

Anyway it reminds me of that!!

  • Wow! He is right.

(But who the f...put that cheesy soundtrack into this clip?:-) Makes his speech sound like words of some Messiah:-)

  • That man knows what he is talking about.

He has live throw that nightmare once and should be listened to.

  • LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE!

    Down with the Socialist EU!

Long live the EEC A Democratic coming together of brothers and sisters for the common good of all!

God Save Our European cultures for the good of our children and grandchildren!

We are a haven for the oppressed of the surrounding w

WE WANT OUR VOTING RIGHTS FULLFILLED!

OUR GOD GIVEN RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH AND OPPOSITION!

We are truly sick and tired of the treasonous European Presidency and its arse licking cronies.

  • Woah, look at the guy at 6:37 apart from that, great speech!

  • 90% ludí čo tam máte su hovada ale na tohto môžete byť pravom hrdý

  • Václave Klausi, jsem na Vás pyšný !!!

  • No matter what side of the voter chooses. For all of those are the same people and their puppets to perform for people interested in those scenes, people who offer a false sense of freedom, prosperity and security. Who do you work for Mr. Klaus?

  • this means that what many now condemns. This group tried to get their people all the important positions and they largely succeeded. This was the end of democracy in the Czech Republic. The following governments were only theater for people whose role is only symbolic.

  • with the dubious "voucher privatization" under the slogan "the return of property of the people "People did not submit a property, but thieves, swindlers and speculators, that in 1997 after the ruling weakened the position of the ODS (Civic Democratic Party) which was also chairman and prime minister allied with the opposition (CSSD - Czech Social Democratic Party) to form political clusters, which resembled today's European Union,...

  • I do not know what I think about my president. In the European Parliament spoke very boldly and I say that with him at all agree. However, I disagree with the fact that after the fall of the socialist system as the first member of the Civic Forum, and later Minister of Finance released money from the pension fund on the market that sold it disadvantageously 54 tons of gold from the Treasury, ...

  • Viewing this from Canada, all I can say is that I am very impressed with the Czech President, and very disappointed in the EU. When those MEPs began to boo and walk out during the speech, I couldn't help but feel sadness at the undemocratic sham that the European Parliament has become. From what I gather, the supposedly angelic left that asserts its own wonderful values has deteriorated into the spawn of a rising fascism. And they are so caught up in being 'progressive' that they are blinded.

  • I understand why the Germans are all for multiculturalism, and, paradoxically, against any sense of national or cultural identity. I understand, but I do not approve, because not all european states have to wash their hands of the blood of a genocide.

  • @ahmedeox

    I understand your point, but

First I do not need to wash my hands, I promise.

Second, we the germans, do generally absolutely not know what is going on in EU or in politics at all.

We were manipulated not to be interested in anything like that.

If any, the politicians want to wash their hands, as they are not really legimitated.

    Doesn' make it better

BRD is owned by USA and UK. Those administration want, what happens around the world and EU.

    Our politicians are powerless actors.

  • @wiedergeradeaus1000 First, no German has to wash his/her hands. Claiming otherwise is equivalent to claiming "The sins of the father are the sins of the son" which is complete nonsense. Just because you happen to share nationality with a Nazi that died long ago, does not mean that you have or should have a guilty conscience. Second, I think no European citizen knows what's going on in the EU parliament. I didn't know the stuff on BRD. Nevertheless, the Brits seem to be divided on the EU(Farage)

  • @ahmedeox Then you also have no right to feel proud of your nation's accomplishments, if you don't share in the shame of it's failures. You're either a nationalist in every sense of the word, or you're not. Pick one.

  • @ahmedeox Just wanted to get something straight here, the political term for nazism is :National socialism.. ofcourse you won't hear those lefties admit the latter part, thought you might've found that interesting to know.

My view on it is that without the socialist part (the part where different identities meet), you couldn't have had any battles etc. Nationalism is about being proud of your country and the will to improve it and aslong as it remains in it's own country, there's no trouble.

  • @diekerel This is a silly statement. Of course there will be no battles if everyone just stays in his country. The problem is, that a lot of nationalists have different opinions about where their countries borders end...

There are countless examples of battles and wars that occured only with nationalism involved... Actually a lot more than "just" with national"socialism" (which in fact was more just added to try to win leftist voters for a fascist party).

  • @meine0wenigkeit Is it? So in a sense you say I'm right?

How can you have different opinions about where borders end? It's drawn down and that's that, if those borders are passed (a social step between peoples) then the shit happens, you're confusing nationalists with national socialists. A nationalist lving in the "wrong country" is crap agreed. But socialist inviting such people in his country is equal crap see what I mean? while pure nationalism in itself hurts nobody.

  • @meine0wenigkeit The only example I can think of as a nationalistic war is a civil war among one people.

Except for that there always is that social step.

    Peace. ;)

  • He has a set of balls unmatched by the whole EU parliament put together. I like him even more than Farage. He is a lot calmer and talks with a lot more dignity. Those lefty morons booing him have no fucking idea what it's like to live under a dictatorship, they are as far away from the average life of the european citizen as the andromeda galaxy is from earth. They try to impose the same set of rules on all member states, while shouting "celebrate diversity". Fuckin hippies.

  • @ahmedeox Actually, you're completely wrong. Baroso certainly knows what it's like to live under a dictatorship. Portugal was subjected to a fascist-leaning dictatorships from 1926 to 1974, so yeah, he should definitely know better. Perhaps he does and fancies himself a great dictator, the bastard.

  • God bless this man, another NIgel Farage, a real statesman.

    INFOWARS.COM

  • German fucking assholes!

  • @RedSunCZE Well, you should take another attitude these days. I'm not for EU-federation but I'm for cooperation between all european nations.

  • Dictatorships need :

A paramilitary (European Gendarmerie Force) & police with immunity from prosecution (Europol).

A "Politburo" that's not directly elected (the commission) and has the power to introduce legislation against the people's will (see Avaaz .org petition against the commission's support for GM crops 60% of us are against).

A "parliament" to give the system credibility (see last year's German constitutional court's scathing verdict on the EU parliament).

    Everything is in place.

  • vivat European common market

    vivat Europe without borders

    vivat the Europe of motherlands

vivat Nigel Farage and Vaclav Klaus

the last defenders of freedom, justice and the capitalism

fuck bureaucrats from Brussels and directives about bananas

fuck Jose Barroso and Martin Schultz

    fuck socialism

  • That was some tough Soviet shit at the end. It was like watching a documentary in the 1970's USSR Politburo on how we should ignore any dissent and differences of opinion. President Vaclav was right about everything he said.

    Fuck the EU, from Germany.

  • @groam6666...fuck the EUSSR....from britain

  • Nemám Tě rád, ale dobře Vašku :)

  • Whats the sad music for??? Through their bad manners, disrespect and downright arrogance the MEPs that left the hall showed in sharp relief exactly what more and more people have come to realise about the EU. That they do not give a fuck for anything, or anybody but their own agenda. They are corrupt and utterly self serving.

  • I agree with absolutely everything Klaus said in his speech; absolutely everything; he said the EU is a good thing, but that it is straying away from its founding principles, which must not be allowed to happened; glorious

  • He speaks something about proven "parliamentary democracy". Mr. Klaus, I don't want to be rude, but I must say I am surprised to hear of this. In fact, there has NEVER been a functioning parliamentary system in continental Europe! NEVER - except for short post-war periods when the social strain was not that high.

  • @BaumerPaulGefreiter Bullshit.

  • Czechs with their still existing 'Benes decrees' - The shame of Europe.

  • @GK84XIIO Couldn't disagree more. The czechs did the right thing after WWII. Germany disbanded the young Czechoslovak republic during the Thirties. The treatment of President Hacha will go into history as an act of infamy, just like the unspeakable Munich agreement.

On a completely different note, the German-speaking Bohemians were never part of any "Germany" in their history, but always Bohemians, and part of the Austro-Hungarian empire. There is no "Sudetenland".

  • @celloswiss LIE

  • @GK84XIIO I know: The truth always hurts.

  • @GK84XIIO Really ?WHY.Because someone stole our land and we took it back ? And you Hungarians just leave Slovaks alone....you are causing only problems who cares about you ...no one so leave us alone...I think you are another extremist with half brain

  • I'm from Poland, I am proud of our neighbours president :)

  • Like the Czechs, I am proud of this president. He has my admiration and appreciation. He has opinions and spine!
