Yeah I too think he should have tested for the red and accomodation relex for CN2... but other than that excellent set of series!

for the acomodation reflex and pupilary reflex are responsable CN-III-IV-VI, which are responsable for motor reflexes.
CN-II is a sensorial nerve

why didn't he check for accomodation & pupillary light reflex for CNII?

it´s for CNIII. CNII is exclusively vision as you know.

i´m afraid hungyrybear is right, if CNII is damaged pupilary reflex is gonna be negative and the opposite (the pupilary reflex in the other eye) too. If the CNIII is damaged and the CNII is undamaged the opposite reflex will be positive. It´s amazing how can you get to diagnosis without using just images or lab.

Im nto sure i understand completely. Say if someone cut the nerve at the back of the right eye on the optic nerve. Would this effect the opposite eye (left eye) vision field or no? due to the tract cross over.. or have they yet not crossed over?

crossing over occurs at the optic chiasm. depends where you sever it. PRoximal to the optic chiasm (towards the occipital cortex), the defect would defect would depend if you sever it at optic tract or at the geniculate nucleus. Various color charts on net demonstrate these defects
