For those who may want to know, Wicca typically has 2 deities, the God and Goddess. However, because Wicca is a very individualized religion, there are some witches who believe in a god, a goddess, both, more than 2, or neither. I'm an Atheist Warlock (or whatever a male witch is called, I'm still new to this), and in rituals I see the God and Goddess as forms of power one's mind can access. Blessed be )O(

I echo some of what Jeffrey has said here.  From my understanding of it, Wiccans usually follow the sabbats and call upon and even worship (?) the Goddess. Witches when spell casting for e.g. may call on other deities or none and might not follow the sabbats. Obviously some people are both a Wiccan and a witch.

@AthenaMarina2 Yes, we worship the Goddess and God. As Goddess167989 said, we don't believe one can exist without the other. We just hold the Goddess in higher respect and love because she gave birth to all creation. Also, you're right. Wiccans are Witches. It's just that some of us choose not to practice Magick, and that's perfectly OK! Also, in case you're wondering, Wiccans also celebrate Easter, Halloween, and Christmas with their families. No religious barriers during these joyous times.

I'm not really religious, I would say, but my parents and family are big Christians, and they don't like this sort of stuff, but this does catch my curiosity quite a bit, so I was just curious if a lot of people look down on this kind of stuff?

well Christianity is a religion that many people live by. some mite consider being witch or wiccan a religious thing or another way of life. my mom and my mom's side of the family are catholics. and they dont like this stuff.BUT they do not understand it. i am also 13 and am learning about this too ^-^ trust being a witch or wiccan is not a bad thing as long as you mean to do it in a pure way. and do good. :]

yea, my family is agnostic, so i didnt have much of a battle against religion, but some of my family thinks its weird, but i think of it as a enlightment to see the true meaning and purpose of mother earth. it is a good religion/way of life. and for a heads up i have a friend whos mom is wiccan and her dad christian. she is christan wiccan. there are people out there who are. so its fine. i am 13 also. i am also wiccan. good luck with your parents. somtime they jsut dont understand. ^w^

@gothgirl1330 Parents usually feel much better about Wicca when you explain to them what it truly is...if they're reasonable, at least. I'm turning 23 in 8 days. I secretly practiced Wicca for 10 years. I recently came out of the "broom closet" to my Dad. Once I explained to him what it was, he felt much better and found a common ground with my beliefs. He doesn't fully understand how Witchcraft works yet, but he knows I'm smart enough not to get myself mixed up in the wrong stuff.

Wicca is an earth religion that celebrates life and the earth. We follow the first known religion in the world before all others. It is an amazing path filled with magical experiences and feelings. If you were a wiccan you would know all these wonderful and enchanting things. I just have a question. I'm a Christian and I'm wondering if wiccans believe in the existence of God and Angels and such. I know that non-Wiccan magical traditions like Ars Goetia, etc. actually invoke angels and demons and that most kabbalist magic is merely power from angels or an aspect of God. What do you guys think of that? Does that work as oppose to your calling on pagan deities? I'm simply curious.

I do believe that they do believe in God, but also a Goddess. They believe there cannot be one without the other, which makes sense (that's how a Wiccan explained it to me). They also do believe in angels and work angel magic. They do not believe in satan, that was created by the christian church and they do not acknowledge the devil at all.

Actually, angels are not part of Wicca. Angels are a Judeo-Christian concept, not a Pagan one. There are a few Wiccans who incorporate angels into their rituals, but it isn't a traditional core belief.

I can't speak for all Wiccans, but I know a lot of us, including myself, also have a deep respect for Jesus and regard him as a great prophet, healer and teacher. I believe if Jesus came back today and looked at Christianity today, he would be disgusted. Wicca doesn't have a huge set of rules we are required to follow, except for the Wiccan rede (An' ye harm none, do what ye will.) and the Threefold Law which is basically the law of Karma.

You will find that all Goddesses come from other places. Look some of them up. They are Greek, Roman, etc. Also, Kali might seem a little strange to you if you don't understand what she does and what she represents. Balance is everything.
