@e1802 lol ur funny tell me about azeri country yea guess what its a new country...... so and tell me about armenia i guess it was from pharaons time so please chill out Kharapagh is our jajajajajjajaj in ur face
51jek..The name "Kochari" comes from Armenian word qoch, koch, or ghoch which means "ram" in Armenian. Ram was a holy animal in old Armenia and was associated with Gods before Christianity, this Armenian dance is 3000 years old, The moves in the dance look like a fighting ram.
@e1802 There you go, why don't you read up and expand your knowledge a bit before you embarrass yourself with your ignorance and hatred. This music and dance style is very old and is found in many cultures.
@jivanballplaya89 Go to Wikipedia and type in Kochari and see the article there clearly explaining how many different cultures have this in their history and the description of them.
@e1802 Of corse this is Azerbaijanian Mosic- armenian always would like to wear our shoues but they are never can not steps like Azerbaijanian.....Azerbaijanian Great with great rich history and culture . Be sure we will put this in your mind soon.
Rich history? Where were the Azeris when the Assyrians, Armenians and Greeks were dancing and playing this style of dance music? Rich history and culture, come on it's historically known the Azeri people were not in the region of the Caucasus before the second half of the millenium (before around 1000 AD). If you can answer that then I will actually dignify your statement.
@51jek Thanks for the Wikipedia article, I knew all that since I've read the history as well. What was your point? You're just proving my point of how the Azeri people in literal terms were not in that region while the Armenians, Caucausus Albanians, Greeks, etc. were. What are you trying to say I don't understand?

@e1802 Da konechno.... kochari ne azerbaycanskoe slovo, a tyurkskoe, eto vo pervix, a vtoroe- jesli nazvanie tyurkskoe, eto ne znachit , chto muzyka toze. naprimer chajkovskij napisal shelkunchik po motivam jevropejskoj skazki, no nikto nesomnevajetsja, chto Chajkovskij russkij kompozitor i jego muzyka russkaja.
Do you speak any english? If so, then I understand what you're saying through some of my Russian-speaking friends. You are ignorant first of all to think that only Azeris in the whole region have a Kochari-style song/dance. All the people of that region have a version of this song including the Greeks, Kurds, Turks, Armenians, Azeris, Assyrians, etc. You don't know anything and you are just speaking of out of hate and ignorance so I'm not going to play your little game and be childish.
Also, this was taken when the group was very new together and especially to the zurna so of course it doesn't sound perfect but please, I insist you try to play it better. We are better now and don't need your pity thanks but no thanks. Now please stop your ignorance and be a little more mature. Thanks.
It is an Azeri music arkhatych - Kochari means Nomad, Wanderer in Azeri...jivanballplaya89 - what it means in Assyrian (sorry, dunnow how your language calls) ?
Dag is a turkic word meaning "mountain" and stan is a Persian word meaning "land of". That's where the name comes from. 75% of the population is made up of Northeast Caucasians (Avars, Dargins, Lezgins) and 20% are Turkic people (Azeris, Nomaiks, Kumyks), and finally 5% Russians.
there is no meaning in armenian it is turkic word which means languages that are part of the branch of languages called turkic, for example turkish, azeri, kazakh, uzbek, etc. and yes it means nomad.
the fact that kocharee means nomad in turkic is just a coincidence, the armenian kochari comes from the pontic greco-armenian 'kotsari: which refers to movement of the feet...kocharee is a warriors dance, from kars, nothing to do with azeris, or nomads
yes but is it the exact same song? no. we have been living in the same region for centuries don't you think some of the music is going to be similar. it's in the history books man
Why he is saying that he has the same melody is because dance Kachari too, they also claim it is their dance and that we stole it. While those Azeries that live in Iran (their original land) never claim it is there, nor wear Caucasian dressings, nor dance N.Caucasus dance Lezginka)

Yeah right. Also "Dag" is mountain in Turkish language, that's why one Turk was trying to tell me that Dagestan is a Turkic land.

Ervand...it may have some turkic influence...but I'm sure no russian influence at all...why then it's under russian federation control?
