Oh yeah.. square enix is defiantly running out of ideas if they have to brain storm with a history book. But even a WWII like scenario is much more interesting than the typical young people goes save the world from the evil guys who want to control or destroy it and the universe... I am not impressed with any of the new FFs so far. I didn't even bother to buy FF13 for ps3. So hopefully this one wont let me down. I used to be a big fan but now they're just getting really old.

it's really vague to know the connections of all three titles, but right now it's not definite on whether they are on the same world or different worlds, because the use of different worlds may be in terms of metaphor meaning they can take place in the same world at different times

Which is why they have completely different people on the teams for each game, so they make sure there aren't too many similarities between the games...? They take place at totally different worlds. The only similarity is the crystal theme (Versus and Agaito does not have (lcei and falcie) So some people who are disappointing at XIII are expecting goods things from Versus

The first set of final fantasy games revolved around the crystals, but 7-12 ignored the concept (can't remember if 5 and 6 did, too). They're just wanting to stay true to the original idea that created the game to begin with. I do agree that the concept is a bit drawn out, but at least we have had a six game break from it lol.
