  • Epic generic.

Danny Elfman's theme beats the crap out of this one.

  • Batman's rogues gallery is one of the if not the best in comics. Joker tops em all though, because he represents irrationality, something that makes humans dangerous.

  • This is a good theme but nothing compared to Danny Elfmans

  • This isn't THE Batman theme. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have stated that there is no singular Batman theme. This is Molossus off of the Batman Begins soundtrack. Bad ass to be sure but not THE theme. Nolan's Batman is a little nuanced than that.

  • I really like this one better than the Burton version. It has the kick-butt feel of the 1989 Batman, but it also has an element of tragedy which is essential to Batman's character that the old theme lacks. This one fits Batman better IMO for that reason.

  • referring to Mr Batman Of Course

  • The Best Part if the Movie is when He says where does he get all these Toys from?

  • 1989 Batman Theme Song > The Dark Knight Theme

The Dark Knight Movie > 1989 Batman Movie

However both themes and and both movies are fantastic.

  • @bconxept For me it's the other way around

  • The Joker: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. We are tonight's entertainment! I only have one question. Where is Harvey Dent? [nobody responds; The Joker walks around the room pointing with his shotgun at everyone] The Joker: You know where Harvey is? You know who he is?

    [grabs a man's face]

The Joker: You know where I can find Harvey? I need to talk to him about something. Just something, a little. [turns the man's face away]

    The Joker: No...

  • i am SO seeing batman forever

  • @thesupersoldier1234 it was a joke because 4 people had disliked the video

  • not as kick-ass as the 1989 Tim Burton's Batman

  • This was the first time he used detective mode but fox told him where they were

  • All it takes is a little push

  • "I'm not wearing hockey pants."

  • @brmillgr me too

  • i want this song to play everytime i walk into a room

  • This is from Batman Begins. The track is from the original soundtrack called "Molussus"

  • batman 1 is better

  • SWEAR TO ME!!!!!!

  • Great song to the greatest movie ever made.

  • @Jackosmack You need to see more movies. Alot more.

  • @DareYouNotToClick1 Lol hey I've seen literally thousands of movies. It's my favorite one. Best movie to come out within the past 5 years in my opinion.

  • @Jackosmack Alright, I'll give you that. In an age of mediocracy and obnoxious films, this one does stand out. Still it is pretty far from being the greatest film ever. It's better than the terribly overreated Avatar, that's for sure.

  • Henri Ducard, Ra's Al Ghul, Dr. Jonathan Crane A.K.A. Scarecrow, and Carmen Falcone hit the dislike button.

  • Heath Ledger+Hans Zimmer+ Morgan Freeman+ Michael Caine = EPIC FILM!!

  • @Animalcrossing95 except Heath Ledger's dead :(

  • @dissentrix i know :,(

  • @Animalcrossing95 Still, you're right about the others

  • whys everyone hating this i think its epic!

  • If your gonna post a song, cant you at least use a good track?

  • i dont remember batman only having 4 enemies...

  • @YouHaveBeenZurpixed joker, bane, ra's al ghul, catwoman

  • @YouHaveBeenZurpixed Rest of them are in jail or asylum...

  • @YouHaveBeenZurpixed If they made all of them that would be just stupid we had the Joker already (He's the best) there is no one else good villains

  • @TheSupersoldier1234 Bane. You cant get any better

  • Too be honest I like all versions of joker, batman and batman movies both the comedic and dark versions I mean both heath ledgers and nicholsons and george romero are great actors :)

  • @irelandcool1 It's Cesar Romero, not George Romero. But yeah, they are all great, each one fits so well in each version of Batman

  • I am reminded of Batman: Arkham City.

  • I love that song

  • I'd rather have MSG2 main theme song as my mobile ring tone than this shit.

  • @sacreed1 Harsh, but I agree.

  • @sacreed1 What the hell is MSG2

  • @Curseco MGS2, woopsy.

  • Ha ha, I have this theme on my phone. This always play when i wake up ^_^

  • i play batman arkham city to this theme! :)

  • @fireblade1993ify whenever i jump off a building and start gliding through the city i imagine this playing in my head =D

  • Awesone! ThanX! Check out my vids! The latest 'Avengers versus J.League' who will win? You help decide!

  • Joel Schumacher disliked this video 4 times.

  • I just hate how everybody compares the two batman movies themes, the movies are already so different that a different theme is of course expected. The theme reflects the mood of both of the movies, if you would've switched theme for both of them, it would just ruin it. The Hans zimmer version is more epic, and reflects the chaos, that the joker creates. whereas the Danny elfman version is more classic orchestral, it feels dark and depressing, but also has a bit of epicness to it.

  • sounds like a poorly veiled, coked up, anemic facsimile of Blade Runner - End Theme.

  • i hate nolan dick riders. I hate ledger fantards, and I hate overall dark knight geeks (those greesy zit faced snotty nerds) but I like this movie.

  • this i so so batman 1989 was bettter sry just sayin

  • this theme is actually better than 1989 and this is hard for me to say

  • @geymer7979

Nah. The Danny Elfman 1989 music had a tune.

This has no tune. It's just percussive noise.

I'm not saying it's bad. But the Danny Elfman Batman theme was more interesting to listen to on its own.

This stuff really needs a film behind it if it's going to be in any way listenable.

  • You and I are destined to do this forever....you wont kill me because of some self justice and I wont kill you because you are just too fun ...Nhahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa! ihi hi heheheheh

  • theme not as good as '89 but still loved it :)

  • Why so serious?

  • @branie99 Because I dance with the devil in the pale moonlight. ;)

  • since it is a series of movies, there is one main theme, though hanz zimmer does not simply create a track no the album called main theme. Molossus is the music played in batman begins during the tumbler chase scene, and includes most of the main segments of music that occur throughout the soundtrack. I don't really think people should consider batman begins and the dark knight as two different soundtracks... there are no new themes. it's all the same THEME, but not the exact same track.

  • 122 people STILL think Molossus from Batman Begins is the theme from The Dark Knight.

    Fucking morons.

  • Definitely Danny taught the world how to make driving themes like this. I can still his value system influencing this composition, pulsing, layered, horns, strings, cymbals, dynamics. But Danny's instinctual sound is much more interesting, for my tastes.

  • Is it just me... or is this theme better than the original 1989 Batman theme?

  • @BlaineC1972 It's not you, but the 1989 theme is awesome too.

  • @legendarycupcake Agreed

  • Don't worry, it's just you... :P

  • @JednookiStarzec ha ha

  • i guess for a more realistic society the dark knight was i guess this music fits more than the old movies...

still think the old ones are superior...

  • Frankly, this sounds remarkably like music from the Mechwarrior 2 series (anyone else remember those?). It's not that it's bad, but compared to Elfman's iconic theme (which was translated and distilled for the 90's cartoon), I don't think this will ever be widely and easily recognizable on the spot. Also, you can jump to just about any point in this 5 minute song, and it pretty much sounds the same the whole way through.

  • Danny Elfman's theme is more recognizable

  • Hanz Zimmer, you ARE DA MAN! But, Elfman's theme is better..

  • Heath Ledger redeemed himself in this movie from Brokeback gay ass mountain.

  • @neo942007 Brokeback Mountain was pretty good actually. It's one of his better performances.

  • Hans Zimmer, Danny Elfman and James Newton Howard all together to make a soundtrack, I can only imagine hearing something like that as I walk into heaven.

  • @mnms1717 You forgot John Williams.

  • @mnms1717 don't forget john williams!

  • @mnms1717 You have forgotten John Williams

  • I like Nolan's films because they actually take time to explain Batman origins, they have a healthy amount of characters that were in the comics, even the small ones such as Falconie. Burton's films I like because of the styles and the general OTT nature of them, but how he dealt with the characters such as Gordon annoyed me, since him and Batman are meant to be friends to a certain degree. That's why I'm a sucker for Nolans, he shows the relationship between them. In my eyes, Oldman is Gordon!

  • BATMAN 4-LIVE!!!!!

BOB KANE R.I.P. I HAD HOPED THAT YOU CAN SEE ALL THE NEW BATMAN SERIES AND MOVIES YOU WOULD BE PROUD!!!! YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME ALOT MAN !!!! THANKS FOR ALL!!!

  • This batman theme and batman movie is kick ass!

  • Comment removed

  • the one danny elfman did is so much better i like hans zimmer do

  • Zimmer's music captures and replays all the emotions from the film, the struggles Batman endures, both with criminals like the Joker in general, but also his fight to make a world that doesn't need a Batman yet may never realise.

Elfman's theme is just a rallying cry, an athem to fight scenes, and nothing else.

  • the soundtrack is good, but in my opinion the soundtrack made by danny elfman in 1989 is far better.........you only hear the first track: "batman theme". and you know its batman ! and batman (1989) is one of my favourites movies of all time......

  • Don't talk like you're one of them! You're not... even if you'd like to be. To them you're just a freak, like me. They need you right now, but when they don't, they'll cast you out. Like a leper. See, their morals, their "code"... it's a bad joke, dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these uh, these "civilized people", they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve.

  • the best batman evar!

  • *listens to 1989 Batman theme*

*clicks on The Dark Knight theme"

*goes back to the 1989 Batman theme*

  • @RDarth absolutely, man. This is in essence a pretty unoriginal score. Ooh, dramatic, but it could belong to any comic based movie. This coulda' been Thor, Blade, Hulk, etc. with no difference. It's epic-generic. I agree that the 1989 Batman music is far better.

  • @Rihia2k

    Haha, epic-generic. That's a perfect description.

  • @RDarth Totally.

    Generic Theme,

    just like random movie music.

  • i like how the drums are mimicing the orginal theme.....with the sixteenth notes...nice!.

  • @metachozoite woah, who'd have even noticed? You muso, you.

  • @Rihia2k

Thanks man...I am verry good at things like that musically etc.....kind of makes the music better to listen to now huh?

  • @Rihia2k and actually if you listen to the orginal 60's batman theme then listen to this...the score is realllly alike...so cool!

  • @metachozoite - yeah, and also, if you listen very carefully, you can hear the wings of bats in the background.. very clever.. just like the Spider-Man theme, where you can hear a spider crawling up his web in the beginning

  • I Prefer The Old Batman Theme, Sorry.

  • this is molosus.

  • @7cormac I have to say, I much prefer Burton's batman movies, but they hardly put Nolan's movies to shame. nothing can put Christopher Nolan's Batman movies to shame! Both directors got mostly great music, actors, and fells. and none can be put to shame.

  • this song is so fucking better than dadadada fucking batman

  • This movie is vastly overrated. Why does "darker, edgier, and more realistic" have to be better? Batman is a comic book character. This was a fine film, but I'll always prefer Tim Burton's renditions better. Christian Bale is a terrible actor. Heath Ledger's performance was also overrated, which isn't to say that Jack Nicholson was any better. The only person to nail the Joker down is Mark Hamill.

  • @ninjast4r Different source material made for different movies. I wouldn't say one is better than the other as they have different moods and I would even say messages. I will agree that Hamill voices a fantastic sadistic, maniacal Joker.

  • @dash2k3 Perhaps we can agree that both directors blow Joel Shumacher's disasters out of the water.

  • @ninjast4r Wow, I thought I was the only one who thought those exact things about this film. Stale Bale is definitely one of the worst action movie stars in Hollywood today. I liked TDK, but it really was overhyped and overrated in the wake of Heath's death. If alterations could be made to this movie, I'd re-dub Bale's Batman dialogue with Kevin Conroy's voice and try and make the costume look more like Michael Keaton's.

  • @airguitardemon It appears we're pilgrims in an unholy land, friend. It was okay, but not the best Batman film ever. I get sick of people acting like it was. The Animated Series and the New Batman Adventures were really the best representation of the Dark Knight I've ever seen.

  • @airguitardemon Funny you say that since Bale just won an academy award. Over-hyped because of Heath's death? Sorry but this film had huge buzz before his death. The viral was amazing and got a lot of attention. There was Oscar talk for Heath before his death, and this wasn't even his last film. That film didn't do well at box office. Now run along...

  • @clovie101 Note I wrote that I felt Bale sucked in action movies, and he won the Oscar for something that wasn't an action film. He's great in things like American Psycho, but when it comes to the likes of Reign of Fire, Terminator 4 or wearing what looks like a bootleg Batman costume while doing the worst impersonation of Corey Taylor ever, then he needs more lessons. I know it wasn't Heath's last film either but I just felt TDK was good at best.

  • @7cormac

They're both awesome, Batman 89 goes for a Comic book feel (very Burton :D) but Dark Knight and Begins are trying to be realistic, by showing how he transformed into Batman,

And Heath Ledgers Joker beats Nicholsons already fucking amazing performance by a longshot

  • @JuniorProducer1996 True, but Mark Hamil beats both of them. :p

  • @Seargent363 Factually accurate.

  • @JuniorProducer1996 now then, would Mark Hamil as the joker be better than them all?

  • @jromanr01 Only Mark Hamill's voice suits the joker

  • @RingwormFTW I hope that he's really suit Joker mann.

    RIP Heath Ledger btw :(

  • @JuniorProducer1996 I think they are both equally great.

  • @7cormac You're kidding. right?

  • @7cormac No, I don't think so.

  • All batman music is great :)

  • I know what the next concept should be Batman vs Terminator 1 that be freaking epic because Batman would have to defeat a foe that is much stronger then him but he eventually defeats terminator it still will be an epic fight

  • the 1989 theme is bether it is the theme of batman the dark knight this theme sounds licke it is whene he fights bad gays

  • @dcspartan117 ...so batman fights gay people, huh?

  • joker disliked this cuz he smiled too much

  • one word for this epic vote up if u agree

  • This Batman theme fits the environment of the movie... but lets face it, as cool as the new Batman movies are, they are more action films about a dude in a combat suit (a bit too flamboyant, but still a combat suit) fighting mobsters and terrorists than a superhero movie like Tim Burton's. I mean... you could see Michael Keaton and really say "Yeah, this guy is damaged enough to dress up as a bat and go beat up criminals" XD Plus, Danny Elfman's music is just GORGEOUS!!!

  • @Anamchara Yah, but I like how much more realistic this is. If someone was really going to go beat the crap out of criminals they'd do it in some sort of combat armor, even if they are mentally unstable enough to make everything bat shaped.

  • @Anamchara

But Hans Zimmer music is better=p

  • i think this NEW BATMAN THEME is cool but i still love the old BATMAN MOVIE THEME it would be cool in a way to mix the old BATMAN MOVIE THEME with the NEW BATMAN THEME just to make it more DARKER OF A NEW BATMAN THEME

  • The Dark Knight theme? *Insert Mark Hamil Joker Laugh here*. Sounds like "Insert any generic action movie" Theme to me.

  • did not care for this theme or movies(begins was ok but not great). did not follow the true comic plots which are way better for story telling and characters like the ones from the 90s.

  • Maybe include a revision on the original theme next time.. jeez.

  • The Burton theme is for Burton films...it fits.

The Dark Knight is NOT A COMIC BOOK film.

    It's a crime thriller.

  • @superhamzah85 Just one that happens to involve a guy dressed up like a bat battling an evil clown and a guy with half a face.

  • Who's ready for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES!?!

  • @1990SuperGeek I'M READY!

  • @1990SuperGeek I'M READY!!!!!!!!!!

  • As much as I love Hanz as a composer... i have to agree that the 89 theme is the most iconic and best batman theme.

  • @iamlenny89 Not quite; the Danny Elfman theme used in the BTAS intro IS the iconic Batman theme.

Han's Zimmer's work is too repetitive for me. I can hear some parts used in Pirates.

  • I prefer a lot the '89 theme... this one sounds like the same spiderman song...

  • Comment removed

  • say whatever you want about the movie, but regarding the actual soundtrack...

Danny Elfman is Oingo Boingo trash with every soundtrack sounding the same, Hans Zimmer is Lion King, pirates, inception, etc

Not saying that Danny's stuff is bad, it's very atmospheric indeed, but it's starting to sound repetitious with every new movie...

  • Danny Elfman >>>>>>> Hans Zimmer

  • @starwatcherusa That was the worst Batman movie to date. Clooney is a joke.

  • @starwatcherusa so....the one where they had a fight while ice skating? that one, is in fact your favorite?

well, i guess statistically SOMEONE had to like it.

  • This theme is pure perfection.

  • keaton was the best batman,he did the right thing aswell by drop'n the part after the even better sequal,

  • @help77me I agree! I would have hated to see Keaton's batman ruined by joel schumacher's piss poor attempts at making batman movies.

  • Why does nobody like Joel Schumacher's Batman Movie? It was my fav :(

  • @starwatcherusa Because Schumacher's Batman movies are total crap. Even the campy 60s version is more credible.

  • The 1989 theme is better!

  • @NamedBen Better is an understatement. The entire OST blows this movie away. I also liked the original 2 over these 2 new ones.

  • it might be good, but NO WHERE as good as the original. might have a better Joker and battle scenes, but......the actor for Batman, the supporting cast, and the story are still superior.

  • after 21 years batman is back and kicking!

  • i never liked classic music but now i like!

This music is just so good!

  • Didn't Hans Zimmer do the music for Call of Duty and Metal Gears Solid? I thought I saw a similiar name in the credits. Am I right or did I just see a similar name?

  • @InuRyutheDiegron

The music for Metal Gear Solid was done by Harry Gregson-Williams; can't say who did CoD. You might be thinking of Patrick Zimmerman on the credits for Metal Gear Solid who does the voice for Ocelot.
