The comparisons to Joni Mitchell are true but the real similarity comes from their pure atristic freedom, Joni was the catalyst to change the way we approach prose, poerty and songwriting, surely everything decent has at least a smidgeon of Joni Mitchell. Surely :) Laura is beautiful, unique and truly inspiring. Love the Joni Love.
@amendoza1389 surely if you think that then dont you think she'd feel so happy? Its not about the recognition, its about touching at least one person.
Watching the AMAs while my family argues over whether current music is mass produced and uncreative. The whole time I watched I kept thinking how all of them sounded much better in their cds than they do live. Then I thought of laura and how she sounds the same, sometimes better live than she does in her cd. So i preceded to turn up the volume on this song in an effort to try and
block out the rubbish radiating from the TV. Suddenly my family grew really uncomfortable and looked at me. :)
@cocteaua She's not the only Joni inspired songstress. Her instrumentation is original though ( any Mumford boys?). Ane her voice and words are lovely.

Heard this on the radio the other day and thought it was Joni Mitchell! I really like it and I've only just found out she's from my neck of the woods

actually if you play it in open D you need a capo on the 5th. But if you play it in open E its a capo in the 3rd.

@naveen1592 Zane Lowe is a good man. I loved the acoustic "Lover of the Light" (by Mumfords) on his show. Amazing.
