nice version i love the foo fighters and its crazy when people tell me i look like dave grohl im like yeah ok and they are like no serious dude you realy do man lol ahh well
great great great version! this is probably my second favorite on colour and shpe and this version is awesome, but! ill have to go with the album version just cuz the chorus just comes in so hard and it makes your hair stand up sometimes. good version nonetheless. cudos.
There's another slow version recorded for the BBC in 1995 at the evening session, when A+ET, slow Floaty, Gas Chabmer, and How I Miss You were recorded. The tempo is sort of midway between this version and the fast version and Dave's vocals are nicer.
Winnebago and Wattershed were recorded at the time, but they were true "live" performances, as in the band just played live for BBC radio as they would in front of an audience. The other five songs were studio recordings with instrumental and vocal tracks being recorded seperately.
Friend of a Friend wasn't recorded at that session. That was done at the '97 session with Requiem, Drive Me Wild, and Baker Street.
This version was recorded at Bear Creek studios before the fast version that ended up on the album (a piece of this song is still used as the intro). Throughout '95 and '96, the guys played both versions live and were never really sure which version to put on TCATS. Pat was the one who suggested they stick 'em together.

You should write a book about foo fighters 1995 - 2008 you seem to know everything about them
JordanDowie14 4 years ago 3
Make that 1995-1997. After that I'm not quite so knowledgeable. :)
