Did you have control where and when you are born. No. How can you take pride in that. The only reason the Turks got anywhere was b/c of Islam, first and foremost. Sultan Mehmet and the real Janissaries conquered on Constantinople on the day the found the grave of Abu Ayyub al-Ansari, the Sahabi. Remember this, it wasn't b/c of their Turkic background. As ottoman empire began to diverge from turkishness after the 16th century the time of decreae began.Ottoman language used by leaders are divided in 3 parts.Old ottoman:closest to pure turkish,middle ottoman:diverged a bit from pure turkish,new ottoman:included too many foreign elements.Simply you can see that ottoman went after centuries more and more away from turkishness..And after this there were no more legendary successful sultans anymore.Allah filled faith and turkishness with power.
