  • Those first ever racing GTR's were developed right here in Australia by gibson motorsport, the Nissan bosses used to fly out to watch it almost every meeting. Good japanese car yes but improved by an Australian racing development program. Credit where credits due its a great sportscar and doesn't try to hide the fact thats what it is, Aussie cars are not really sports cars.

  • thats it hectic458 bring back the big bangers and mix it up rice burners turbos 1600 the whole deal cutem loose and lets all have fun again viewing them not this garbage two sided joke no chase also man how good were group c

  • I love the races at Bathurst. which make wins the race....really doesn't matter.

  • Imagine if they brought the GTR R35 back into the V8 supercar race, I bet it would do well even being stock.

  • @RealGhostVision actually there was an event a while ago at sandown. Standard R35 GTR was a couple of seconds slower than even the Group-A R32 GTR, which was slower than a modern day V8 supercar.

  • i loved the real touring car champs when it was open to all comers. it was always cool to see the big bangers fighting it out with BMW's, Porsche's, even Volvos... loved it. I remember seeing a toyota corolla (1600) working its ways up through the pack with crashes and fuel stops etc... it was exciting.

  • kool i like dat

  • Nissan has since moved to racing Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo etc

Holden has since moved to racing only Fords lol

The Holden has gone backwards while the GTR has gone on to rivaling the Veyron, GT2 and ZR! around the Nurburgring.

  • @RealGhostVision Nissan has being doing this since the AWD GT-R skylines have been out actually. They've actually have been banned from most series after winning one race upon their first entries (Macua Grandprix, Bathurst, hell, the R34 was even banned from JGTC) which why they haven't shone as they should have. Best result? I'd say 5th in class/10th overall at 24hours of Le Mans. It doesn't sound great until you considers the only cars in front of it were McLaren F1 GTRs hehe

  • In nowadays the Aussie V8s still can't beat "23!" (2-3, Nii-San) :D

Wonder what would've been like if number 23 (instead of 1 or 2) was used on those godzillas? ........................

  • "if u cant beat um ban um" not my quote

  • @offitcock So true but so sad... FIA GT-Rs have to be converted into 2wd V8's, wtf is that?

  • @fgalaxie...or should i say captain america ,get over yourself...the GTR is payback for hiroshima and nagasaki....if you think they are ugly as sin,dam i would hate to see your wife!

  • One of my favorite tracks in the world. But yeah those Skylines can haul ass. I kind of have a soft spot for those Aussie v8's though.

  • This is the real reason nissans were banned :)

  • shame the holden won the race then?

  • poor old VL

  • Go the GTR! Love my Nissans and Fords!

  • not to close pricey the GTR costs alot of money

  • Comparing or arguing the case for a V8 Falcodore vs any GTR vs any Evo/STi vs something fast and Euro is like trying to compare Ice Cream to Chicken Nuggets to Pasta to Thai. It all a matter of opinion. An R35 is crazy quick but a Type R Integra reving it's head of while mid corner actually "FEELs" faster and is a more rewarding drive but a HSV/FPV is excellent at the freeway haul and effortless overtaking in a comfy environment. Horses for courses guys. Grow up and just respect everyones choice

  • I have owned V8 Falcodores, R32 and 33 GTR, WRX STI, EVO's), rotaries, BMW's, Mercs. One is not better than the other. Yes there is something about an Aussie V8 and there isnt much better for carting the kids around in fast comfort for such a small out lay but a C63/M3 leaves them for dead.So they should for twice the coin. But the amazing ability of any GTR,Evo,STi cannot be ignored. Look at Targa Tasmania and any road rally results. Not many V8's up the order in a more realistic comparison.

  • ....it could of meant that the ford and holden vehicles of today would of been alot better.

  • 20 yrs since this model was released to the current r35, its gone from destroying fords n holdens to competing with porsches and ferraris. Banning the r32 from atcc is a loss to the aussie car industry in my opinion, there was so much to learn from these toys,

  • That's what strapping a massive turbocharger to an engine will do..

  • @FGalaxie Sounds like someone's bitter.

  • @babyduck1 LONG LIVE THE SKYLINE !

  • @babyduck1 yeha haha what a fag

  • @babyduck1 Sounds like someone is also abit of a racist of you ask me.

ATCC & V8s were alot more entertaining/exciting for me (and many others) when there was actually some variation in the field of cars.

I wish theyd mix it up again and allow inline6, turbos, rotaries and 4s into the big race, it'd liven it up in my oppinion.

  • @babyduck1 Also doesn't realise that the derogatory term gook is a reference to Vietnamese boat people who came here in the 80's, and is not related to Japanese, unless he is only sterotyping all Asians. Which is disgusting to start with. Who also argued that the GTR has no history or and only started production in 1989 not knowing the history of the GTR actually started in 1970. Of which its history began back in the 1960's.

  • @babyduck1 Yes I am bitter.

Bitter at how Aussies could turn into such sell outs.

    Remember Changi, Remember Pearl Harbor,

Our car culture is under threat and the youth of today is poluted by these rice buckets that are as ugly as sin.

  • @FGalaxie WW2 ended in 1945, you were not born in the war, you were not part of any of the conflicts, you did not experience it, the people that caused/ were involved in the incidents are not alive today (or are going to die very soon)

do us all a favour and kill yourself - you were clearly born stupid for relating WW2 to Nissan Skylines.

  • @innie721 those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.

  • @FGalaxie lol what car culture? you mean sitting parked at maccas with your hood up on your bog stock stato talking shit, or do you mean events like summernats? because i still see no shortage of young bogans there.

being a sell out isnt just limited to Japanese vehicles. how about proud Holden owners still feeling the need to put a Chevy badge on their SV6. Sense of shame is it?

I own and trackrace an R32 GTR. I pay respect to any car that can beat mine. which so far hasnt been much.

  • @tanoAE86 What car companies have classic cars worth big money?

The Japanese or the Americans/Aussie and Euros.

    Def is not the Japs.

Chev and Holden are owned by GM anyway, same company.

Why dont you put Renault badges on your gookline? Thats who owns and runs Nizzan now.

  • @FGalaxie is that all you can brag about? antique cars? How many "classic" cars does Pegani have? none, but im sure the Zonda is damn better than anything Australia's ever produced.

What achievements have ever come from Holden. Nothing. The R32 GTR is a 20year old car and in standard trim, runs 12.9 seconds down the quarter mile, have Holden produced anything like that yet? Nope. Because everything they make is big, fat, ugly and cumbersome. just like it's fans.

  • @tanoAE86 What else matters?

Car companies are remembered for the classics they make and what they brong to the market. What have the Japs ever brought? copied tech and ugly pastiche styling badly copied from the Americans and Europeans.

If you are such an automotive expert (debatable since you like that gook pack) look up General motors, see all the classic cars they have and all the things they have brought to the consumer.

  • @FGalaxie im not disputing the fact that GM dont have a range of classic vehicles. I'm merely projecting that the Skylines, despite being from Japan. are a very formidable racecar in the motorsport industry. And anybody with any automotive appreciation would at least acknoweledge that. The whole car is a winning forumla for the race track. Dont discount a vehicle because of heritage, and definately not because of your own personal ignorant, bigotry views about a country.

  • @FGalaxie you're a nostalgic fool spouting emotionally-driven arguments. it's time to press 'sign out.'

  • @gripracer youre a typical yanks tosser, happy to drive rice and sell out your countrymen.

  • @FGalaxie enjoy living in the past, old man.

  • @gripracer Enjoy driving a glorified Renault and being a sell out.

We need another 9/11 to clear the yank gene pool

  • Comment removed

  • @FGalaxie enjoy being inferior to me.

  • @gripracer How is that possible when I am pure blooded European.

You are an American, A genetic morass of Euro Dna.

Maybe with some native American thrown in.

And judging by your car taste, some Asian tasteless DNA

  • @FGalaxie The skyline one fair and square, while i am a commodore man and always will be parked next to my vz ss ute is an r32 gtr, i would rather drive the gtr everyday because its a nice to car to drive but the ss is the work beast

  • @FGalaxie lol get fucked, jappers have always meant quality and performance, not overweight gutless pieces of shit.

  • @FGalaxie I've driven V8's and I love them! but by the sounds of your comment you haven't driven a nissan skyline gtr, until you do or shall I say when you do come back and see if you would like to re-write that comment

thumbs up if you think he will haha!

  • @bentleybentley Why would i degrade myself? Id drive Euro, American or Aus.

theres more to being a car aficonado than being a stat geek..

History, culture, marque, the number of classics, The Japs have none.

    Simply copy, copy and copy.

In a few years time you see Skylines all faded and with broken tail lights driving around wesyrern suburbs or parked outside centrelink offices.

  • @FGalaxie you would rather drive a car that has history then the actual driving performance?

its funny cause at the minute were talking about a car which started production back in 1989

to me that has history, seriously do NOT bother replying to this comment as you HAVEN'T tried the car and until you do. you cant say that you dont enjoy what it has to offer so stop mother fucking hating on what Jeremy clarkson himself described as one of the best cars he has ever driven/ the rest of the world

  • @bentleybentley Quoting Clarkson now? he has his bias like everyone else.

If its an Aston Martin or Jaguar he automatically says its the greatest thing on wheels, even the Poms dont own any of their car industry anymore. ha.

He also lavished heaps of praise on the Monaro too, take that as you will.

  • did i not say i love v8s?

not here to argue just saying man you should seriously try it before you diss it

  • @FGalaxie Yeah cheating is obliterating the competition with a good car abiding by all the rules in '91, and then in 92 after packing 100kg on and limiting the turbo still winning again...

You know what is real cheating? Changing the rules so that the skyline can't compete anymore. jackass

  • @FGalaxie fuck you you racist cunt go get fucked

  • @FGalaxie lmfao jealous racist and stupid.u 4got to add

could not beat a nissan skyline gtr to the list

go back to the cave you just crawled out of

    WHATA DOUCHE!!

  • @FGalaxie lmfao jealous racist and stupid.u 4got to add

could not beat a nissan skyline gtr to the list

go back to the cave you just crawled out of RACIST IDIOT

    WHATA DOUCHE!!

  • @FGalaxie You sound like the type of bogan who got pissed about a little 6 cyl car beating your precious V8...

Perhaps you should go crack another VB and leave the internet.

  • Bye buy V8 DICKHEAD

  • i still cant find a better car to drive.

  • to many ppl give these skylines a bad name! the true enthusiasts are the only decent ppl, not the cock smokers who think these cars were the be all end all cause they werent! bathurst needs to be this way once again all different classes of car!!!!!!!!!

  • and this is why they kicked the skyline outta the bathurst hahaha tooooo faaaasssst!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • godzilla...

  • godzilla..

  • P.S the 1991 R32 GTR did the track in 6hr's and 19min and it still holds that record today.

Pretty good to be beating the technology of 2010

  • @iamwoodyr33 rather amazing given 10 years of tyre technology, what you have to remember is that the r32 was always handicapped in bathurst, with fixed torque split (ala no attessa), 150kg of lead in the boot, boost restrictions etc, so it was never racing to full potential anyway, signed R32 gtr owner,

  • @Jolinator exactly...... the gibson team owner and manager said " if we were allowed to run the settings we wanted it would of been us and daylight" even with heavy ristrictions they still won

  • @iamwoodyr33 didn't Nissan tell you about Murph's lap in 2003 some 6 sec faster than the skyline?!!!

  • @kerosenejunkie i was talking about the overall race not a lap time

  • @iamwoodyr33 Yeah i know that .....but its a 'red hearing' isnt it. You compared 2010 technology to the skyline, the cars today are alot faster and have been for many years. What effects overall race time? crashes, safety car, weather......BUT dont get me wrong the skyline was awesome and a great piece of bathurst winning history. Even though im a V8 fan.

  • Thats why i own a skyline and work for Nissan :)

  • the technology in the 32gtr was way before its time, ford and holden arent even close to being on the same wave length as the nissan technology, you could even call it space age if u must lol, truly phenomenal for its time hands down !!!!

  • Nissan GT-R = Puts every Euro junk into shame.

    Period.

  • @NakedSnakeBlGBOSS not true, different tool for a different job i have a b5 s4 and an r32, both have big advantages and disadvantages, plus a true enthusiast will respect any real car for what it is. muscle, euro, jap,

  • @Jolinator

You could say I am a biased enthusiast.

But hey, there is nothing wrong with it. Supporting the cars I choose to support, how can anyone say that's wrong.

  • The gtr is the ony thing that will make me watch supercars, i cant stand the crap cars they drive now

  • @teeroynz Lol do you want a badge, or a chest to pin it on? :)

  • man i just loves how the gtr reving up sounds so good hope they have skyline rally in new zealand..

  • A VT Calais over a GTR. Someone's insane...

  • V8 muscle!! mmmmmm

  • I just got my 308 powered gemini van from the panel shop, and im gonna start looking around for some vl turbos & r32 & 33s to destroy at the lights.

  • thats why i got em both vl turbo and gtr :) cult cars :P

  • Thats not the point mate. The point is, if the gtr races again, then say bye bye to all the holden & ford fans. None of 'em will want to watch it. i've been going to sandown, phillip island, winton, bathurst & the gp to watch the v8s for the last 12 year but if the gtr returns i'll never go to another race again.

  • @2GoRightGoHolden shows how truly rediculous holden and ford fans are then doesnt it,

  • Holden & ford fans (including myself) like motorsport to be simple. Bringing the gtr back will only complicate the sport.

  • @2GoRightGoHolden

simple is too easy, racing is all about the challenge!! not he simplicity!!

  • Lets see how many nissan fans will show up at the races if the gtr ever does return, i want to see how big nissans fanbase is here in australia. Sorry, i forgot, they don't have have one!!!

  • If the gtr returns, say bye bye to atcc. No one will want to show up & watch it. AVESCO will go bankrupt due to lack of funds that come from spectators paying to get into the track, and it will fold. Simple as that buddy. Its called the Australian Touring Car Championship for a reason. Get it through your head.

  • 2go... the gtr was limited to 480hp in these races. and lets see what happens now the r35 gtr and toyota (which i dont know what car they are entering?)return back to v8 supercars in the upcoming years. word is the 35 has to retain factory power out put of 450awhp. byebye holden n ford...

  • By the way, the painters has just finished painting my car black with a candy apple surface finish (it was originally red). Its gonna kill the RB30-powered VL turbos & all the r32s and 33s. On weekends, that is.

  • If you want something better then start saving buddy.. Im guessing you want a skyline and you want to modify it?

  • @2GoRightGoHolden Eventually id like one but at the moment I would prefer a supercharged V6 VT Calais.

  • @babyduck1

    /vomits

  • @BigBurnouts Its more the fact that I couldn't afford a GTR at the moment...Second year apprentice wages suck.

  • @babyduck1 you better have a big disposable income if you wanna buy a gtr, most rb's are getting near rebuild time and rebuilding a 26 is not cheap!, buying the car is the cheap part!

  • @Jolinator

Especially if you just import a complete low km car from Japan.

  • @babyduck1 bull shit. i own an r32 gt-r and i'm a first year apprentice mechanic. i paid 18,000.i'm not rubbing it in but it's possible. i earn $300 a week and i have to pay $100 a week off the loan but i pay $200 because it will crush the loan.

  • @samuelleonard Whereabouts in Aus are you? P plater laws here in Vic are bullshit. Even if I wanted one I couldn't drive it until im 21 and off my P's.

  • @babyduck1 south austrlia. the laws just came in here for us but only if you got your p's after september 4th 2010. i'm 8 months away from getting my full licence. we can get it from 19 years old.

  • @samuelleonard Wow thats majorly different. We don't get our full licenses till we are 21. We also can't drive V8's, anything with forced induction be it turbo or supercharger, and theres some power to weight ratio thing too. No wonder people call us the nanny state hey.

  • What car do you drive babyduck1?

  • @2GoRightGoHolden 4WD Corolla. It's my first car, and I can't afford anything better at the moment unfortunately.

  • If Group C kept going, the 5ltr commodores would have stomped on the r32s at bathurst

  • And also, the ve v8 supercar has around 620hp, the bathurst-winning skylines of 91/92 with 650hp perhaps? Im not too sure. But the fastest lap times the skyline could do in qualifying was in the 2:12s!! Meanwhile, the VE v8 supercars of today are cruising in the 2:09s in the race!!

  • Sorry babyduck1 but im just having my opinion. I just don't like nissans.

  • @2GoRightGoHolden Fair enough. No need to insult them though.

  • I think they made a typo when they founded 'nissan'. Should be called 'pissan'.

  • @2GoRightGoHolden How old are you? 12?

  • And i don't want the scumbags to know what my car looks like so they can just steal it. Thats why i won't post a video of it.

  • At the moment its at the painters, getting a new lick of paint. When it gets finished, im looking forward to putting the rice-burning pieces of shit in their place at the lights.

  • I have an 81 holden gem panelvan with a 355 stroker making 550rwhp, overdriven twin paxton novi blowers @ 20psi or there-abouts, manualised close ratio t700, 2 piece tailshaft, 9in with full spool, 4.11:1 gears & 35 spliners. Last time i put it on the strip it ran a 9.47 pass @ 132mph.

  • Now the R35 GTRs are way too much for the Aussie V8s, both in straights and corners. XD

Not even today's HSV GTS can keep up, maybe souped up versions like CSVs or a supercharged V8s like the Corvette ZR1. However I'm for the new Godzilla.

  • i remember hearing that without the turbo the skylines and the rest of the Japanese crap are gutless pieces of shit

  • @madreader222 In some cases thats true.

  • @madreader222 all bogans say that to make up for the fact the v8 are slow pieces of shit that drive like a boat

  • nothing compensates for cubic inch capacity

  • Turbo does it - but in limited range of rpm.

  • That's strange..... because i'm sure that the 158ci skyline is eating the 304ci holden

  • I love skylines but too many dickheads drive them, most of the people who drive skylines arent true skyline enthusiasts... they just drive a skyline because their hero Paul Walker drives them!

  • couldn't of said it better

  • There are a fair number of those types of owners, yes. They are an ongoing source of shame and embarrassment for the rest of us. Thankfully, most of them only own a Skyline for a year or two and then get turned off by the amount of maintenance they require and buy something else.

But not all of us are that way. Many of us actually pour a ton of wrench time and money into our rides and love them more than we care to admit. True Skyline enthusiasts don't own their cars, their cars own them.

  • i drive my skyline with pride not because paul drives one i love hearing my turbo spool up and off i go but its the idiots in their v8s that make it stupid for everyone that say nothing can beat a v8 but in the end there is cars with less cylinders that do and v8 owners are scared to admit it

  • @freekaleek876

    I agree.

Also in F1s turbos have been banned as well.

For GTR's case, it's been banned cause it was too advanced for the Aussie V8s. Now a R35 even frightens Ferraris 430s , Porsches 911s and Lambos. This means a best HSV doesn't stand a chance against the new mighty Godzilla!!

  • @CorruptWhiteKid

    LMAO

    good comment!!!

  • @CorruptWhiteKid couldnt have said it better

  • Thats just my opinion.

  • good shout

  • try driving a 300rwkw Skyline then see how much of a man you are

  • i had one mate and it easy but once i tried my friends 450hp hsv well that was hard i mean very hard, skyline is easy to drive anybody who knows how to change the gears can drive AWD but if you want to drive RWD with some power that is very hard mate

  • if you'll note i said RWKW not AWKW or AWD

  • sorry mate but gtrs are 4wd

  • yeah i know , your original comment was something about rwd or something cant remember

  • Skylines are a good car, but what pisses me off is the wannabe wogs that drive 'em. They brag and brag when they beat a v8 in a drag race but when they get assraped by the v8 the crying and bitching and moaning starts and never stops.

  • where'd that skyline go ha ha ha

  • you all say how good the skyline is....and i know they are good but did you know that in 1990 the holden vl walkinshaw that the pictures are taken from actually won this 1000km race! the turbos couldn't handle the caning all day then stopping to refuel then going flat out again....true story. i am unbiased and this is what happened! the na cars won the day with 450bhp

  • so remind us all why the r32 GTR to this day still holds the fastest bathurst lap time...?

  • actually greg murphy hold the lap record at bathurst in a 5ltr v8 commodore! it was a 2minute 6second and some change lap. but lets say a skyline did hold the record....which it doesn't you have to do 161 to win. which the vl did. ..... to finish first, first you must finish....... in saying all of this. i like all cars i'm not just a v8 guy. skylines are a good car too!

  • i ment race time, not lap time, my bad :)

  • all good mate!

  • Well the Skyline fastest lap was a 2:14 or so. Now they're doing 2:08's easily. And that's race times not qualy.

  • R23 R33 R34 ARE the best skylines ever. The new one isn't even an "R35", it's a joke.

  • True that

  • i hate how they say;

    neeeee-saaan

  • skyline will kill any HSV car...thats why the guys at bathurst changed the rules to write them off the track!

Nothing can compare to the R35 GT-R

  • R35 is a joke....the R32 and the R34 have the R name....even the R33 was better than the R35...

  • the skyline is boosted with turbos ,,if thay removed them it wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding...

if any of the bent 8s had turbo ?well

  • you might have the power but youl never get it down in rwd car with out serious slicks happening but your right a v8 with a turbo is an awsome combo massive torque and quick boost response, but its the whole package that makes the gtr so fast coz it can use all 600hp efectivly iv seen a race between a 600hp ex v8 super car falcon and a tiny 12a turbo rx7 with just 250...wieght diference aside the rx7 stomped on it because it could get the power down alot faster

  • If I had a dollar for every time ive heard that...

  • if they had turbos they would have only been faster on the straight's and if nissan build a NA 5l+ V8 it would destroy them, there is no need tho, they can make smaller engines and get the same power by using turbos, so the engine is lighter, front end if lighter and the car drives better

  • My God mate, your words are poetry to my ears, I like the way you put them!

  • for all those holden fans out there yes the gtr still holds the bathurst win record of 6 hours 17 minutes and will probly never be broken ...dammed gtrs !!

  • The are considering letting the r35 race :) cant wait for it to rip those v8 apart

  • BRING ON THE R35....the new supercars are so much more improved over those old v8 Group a cars!!!! They would smash that JAP CRAP!!!!

  • Ok wait n see then come comment again mark my word the r35 if they allow it 2 race is gonna smash everything records fords and holdens, and then just like before they will remove it and race it cant race.

  • it won't happen. from memory (and i lost interest in aussie touring cars at this time) the cars had to be aussie built, 4 door, 5.0l v8 and FR platform. this managed to keep the camrys and magnas out.

it is a nice little monopoly they've built up and all the dipshits over there are loving it cos it's "close".

racing should be about team innovation and refinement, as well as the driver's skill. the rules should allow some freedom. if you want close then why not drive 24 stock commodores?

  • well as they did in europe mate? hell no if you ever would like that set of rules, and the v8 super cars cool better than nascar by far, i live in norway and the races and cars you got i take of my hatt eny time, damed would love to ship a fairmont xd giha esp up here to the north why did they never have that car in the usa or eu is a big Q ...

  • nah mate the r35 is to heavy and restricted with the same power the r34 is actually far more potent as japanese tuning shops have found out the v6 still cant compare to the lighter angryer rb26 powerd cars id bet you anything a moderatly modifed ( same power as a v8 supercar, track tyres, some weight reduction and track suspension) r34 street legal car would lap faster then a full race v8 super car dont belive me? look up the mines r34 gtr or any other prominent r34 gtr street track car

  • Go look it up. Out of the r32 r33 r34. the r32 still has the fastest 1/4 mile time (stock standard). Im a skyline fan and have a uncle with to r32 gtrs so trust me i know what your saying. My comments are stating that it would kill v8s on the race track.

  • As long as you are ignoring Nur spec etc then this is true.

  • hahahahaha, new modified taxi vs new modified sports car? Not a chance! And the sad thing is, by the time the commie has been fully modified it has nothing in common with the show room example, but the gtr woud still resemble the road version. No competition mate, NONE

  • no i read in a recent article its still the record holder the v8s have barly improved over 17 years or so and your right v8 supercars have nothing incommon with the road cars unlike the gtr which was basically a stripped out show room example with power unrestricted infact iv read another atricle that said the r32s are barly 4-6 seconds slower around the track on average then high tech v8 supercars of today which are much lighter much more advanced and have 200 more hp

  • I found it on wiki, fastest completion of 161 laps is still the GTR at 6h 19min. But the new V8's are quicker than the old GTR, but for what ever reason they have not been able to complete the whole even in the same time. Brings shame to the Australian motor industry. Holden and Ford australia are a bunch of wimps. On note of power, the nissan teams claimed their GTR's to be 620bhp, that about the same as the V8 supercars today.

  • The reason the race time still stands is back then there was no safety car so the entire race was done at race speed. The only way that they will beat the record is if they have a race with no safety car periods.

  • Nothing provocative but I thought the Skyline R32 had pretty much the same HP as today's modern FG Falcons and VE Commodores 620 BHP each... the only difference is that the Skyline is effectively an upgraded version of the Road R32 while the V8 Supercars are a complete overhaul.

  • Actually it took just over a million dollars to make the GTR work the way it should when they were first delivered from nissan for racing in Australia.

Once they replaced most of the factory stuff and tuned it they way they wanted, it destroyed the competition so much that it had 2 major limiters placed on them by officials; a 'POP VALVE' to limit boost to a certain level and added weights around the car to make them as heavy as the rest of the competition.....and they still kicked ass.

  • pretty sure you mean heavier than the rest, as they were pretty heavy compared to the likes of a sierra

  • does it really? i thought it was recently beaten?
