  • thanks for the vid man it did help me

  • Thanks bud. useful Vid - Will be adding it to my website. Rich.

  • Good video. Just got my ace 250 today and had no idea how to pinpoint. Thanks

  • @markditz You've got no excuses to get out there and find treasure! Good luck!

  • It's still a great machine for the money after many years of production. There are a ton of reviews already on the web. The only downside is that the arm cuff is too short for many users. But my Gizmo fixes that problem. Check out my Gizmo video. It can be bought through ebay.

  • from anyone who has this detector.

  • Would you say this is worth buying then?

Can you do do a short review?

    Good and bad points?

I research like anything before i buy anything and this seems a pretty decent machine.,

    Any info is really welcome.

  • This is JUST what I was looking for...Thank you SO much...You are a GOD!!!

I could not pinpoint a barn until now...

  • muito bom

    see my video

joao130669 prospecting ace 250 gold nugget

  • So you could put a toothpick in where the pinpoint hits maximum in each direction and you should have the spot?

  • Thank You. I'm New, just got my First. An Ace 250. I think I'm hooked. Very good info, good luck.

  • It was totally useful, I'd imagine this is almost the same technique for a double d coil? Thanks for the video!

  • @Dagrehn Yes. almost exactly like a DD coil. But the DD coil will pinpoint right off the very top of the coil. Take care!

  • doesnt it all depend on your sensitivity though?

  • @k8ehud1981 Not really. It's usually around the same spot.

  • Had no luck until I watched this. Thanks.

  • يااة وحشنى الصوت دة ههههة

  • I will stick to sweeping with my old 30 odd year old C-Scope VLF 770, which marks targets as small as a 5 pence with no problems at all.

  • Nice one :0) Garrett At Pro is Nr 1. See my Amazing Finding of Bronzeage, its a Tutulus but i got 5 :0)

  • I think they call it the firefly? Or fire fly? I have seen it and did a little search with no success.

  • im trying for find the accessories with the led that lights up when you find metal.

  • @100silverpizza Go get em!!!!!!

  • salted site

  • Thanks for the video, that was a huge help! Well done oncise and to te point. 10 out of 10

  • @pixotica Thank you. Now go dig some silver up.....

  • Thanks it help 100% without this video i would still be taking forever and digging pointless holes

  • @offroadjeepers Thanks! I would say that 80% of your targets will be right under the 12 o'clock position of the inner coil. The more targets recovered per hour the better the finds...

  • Good to know thank you very much

  • How deep can it detect a matal?? thanks

  • @RQuintero624 That depends on your soil. But in average soil up to 9 plus inches on a coin sized target with the stock coil. Using the 9x12 coil will get you another inch or two. The small 4.5 inch Sniper coil will hit to about 7 inches. Of course it will pick up larger targets much deeper.

  • I will try this with my 350. Thanks for sharing.

  • Your 350 has a DD coil. You can do the same thing except your target will be right at the top of your coil for shallow targets. Deeper target will be back toward you an inch or so.

  • Thanks for the info, that is great.

To get rid of that wind noise on your microphone, you could put a sock on it or something to cover the mic like foam to prevent the wind from sweeping across your mic and causing the noise.

  • Thanks for the info, that is great.

To get rid of that wind noise on your microphone, you could put a sock on it or something to cover the mic like foam to prevent the wind from sweeping across your mic and cause the noise.

  • Good advice. Thanks!

  • went out today and getting used to the garrett found a few coins not old ones, ring pulls and cans are a pain?but im speaking to a local farm and maybe get permission from him as no ware to really go, but going to the beach monday and have a play cheers

  • cool vid ,the ace is jittery, but new to me im just learnig, but good fun will keep on useing it untill i find the big one lol

  • If you don't like the jitters just reduce the sensitivity. Make sure your coil cable is not loose because the coil will pick up the movement and can cause the jitters too.

  • @175yam1 thanks

  • very good I love detectors garrett see my video showing the ace 250 type in youtube: Ace 250 detector joao130669 a hug to everyone joaonovaesn@hotmail.com

  • I would like to thank you for posting this video! I have dug about 100 targets since I watched this and they are all dead on. I used to dig like a 12 inch flap and still wouldn't get the target! Thank you so much!

  • @iDigCoins I'm glad it's working for you! Now you can recover more targets per hour. This means more good finds for you. Take care.

  • Very nice bud, I added this tutorial to my site and subscribed to my YouTube account...

  • Mowerdog has the BEST TIPS I have found in 3months Research!!! Thanks for Sharin the Knowlege!!!KeY !!!!iil tHANKS

  • Yes i mean jewelry, You can find so many Treasure in my mother country and i try to find it also it's my best hobby, i use a Whites Spectrum XLT metal detector but after 4 months search i realize this metal detector can show the metal just at the 20cm maximum deep under the ground. For find Treasure we need a metal detector that can be show minimum 1/5m and maximum 7 m under the ground.

Thanks a lot for reply :)

  • The XLT is still a great machine. It is very capable to find deep targets. There are so many settings that some get the machine messed up. Go to the Whites electronics web site. Then go to the Whites forums. There you will see a section for the XLT. Post your concerns and you will be helped as to tweaking your XLT.

  • @mowerdog Can you recommend a 'gold only' metal detector? Thanks!!!

  • Hi, can you tell me please this Metal Detector can show the gold at just maximum 20 cm deep ?

    Thanks

  • Are you talking about nuggets or jewelry? It would have to be a sizable nugget for most coin machines to find at 20cm or 8 inches. However a large piece of gold jewelry like a class ring can be found at those depths. If your looking only for nuggets it's best to buy a gold only machine.

  • very good tutorial

  • i found lots of nails with mine so i built a dog kennel al have to buy a dog now

  • I guess that's one plus of digging the iron signal. Good luck with the dog.

  • @hanghoodiescum Keep trying to find coins so you can buy the dog.

  • thank you, from Tampa!

  • thank you i did learn from ur video.

  • Lol first day i both my detector ...Lol i was testing it ...And When i was digging.2 Police car parked next to me ...It was damn funny. The guy was sure my shovel was a knife. And when he saw i add a metal detector he was like ..All impressed and started playing with it :P.The poliice wommen told me i should get a pink shovel ..Like that people that dont know wont be scared >.>!What a world we live in .What a World!

  • @Agremen what a world indeed, recently a young boy was playing with his toy gun in the back seat of his mother,s car, someone saw the kid and the gun called the police, next thing you know the car was stopped in a shopping centre full car park by at least 6 to 12 police?? the woman nearly died as did the kid, what the hell is wrong with this world today ??>i thought it was a multi murderer being caught,Gee Whiz!!!

  • @barnfresh60 Its a world full of fear. And fear leads to many bad things...Like taking the freedom away from people who are passionate..Caus e we know who made the world as its today...Hacker made internet Hackers made the first computers...And know what is hacking vue as ....U tell me.:)But i know one thing no one is gonna stop me from being passionate and wanting to lurn by my self...Sorry for my typo i am not english :P.

  • Guitarplayer4real, Iv found alot of stuff check out my vids, Research the area look on google maps to get an over head perspective and pinpoint areas of interest then go and find whats out there, lots of stuff is still around its just knowing where and what to look for.

  • There are a lot of die hard Compass users. But technology has marched on. If the Compass is working for you then keep using it. Or try something like the Ace 250 and see how you like it. You can always sell the 250 for about 90% of what you paid for it. So your really not loosing anything to try it. Of course the eTrac is a lot more money. But it would appear to me it's a great machine. Your call?

  • I have an old compass magnum 420 that is in mint condition, that I am using. Is a machine such as the e-trac that much better than the old vrf/tr machines? I wonder if I should upgrade. Looking at youtube, the e-trac seems to give accurate identification and depth of a target. With my magnum, I run it in discriminate mode and prob and dig until I find the target.

  • Great field video! Just one question.. When using the de-tuning method, your best target still remains in the center of the coil correct? I was thrown off a bit by the target distance measurements you quoted towards the end and also your final position of the coil over the target area. Thanks!

  • Detune the target. Center the tone left to right. Then pull the coil strait back. When the tone fades away your target will be under the center winding at the 12 o'clock position. If you center the target left to right then up and down then the target will be in the center.

  • thanks for posting!

  • Nice job on the vid, thanks. I just bought this Garrett Ace 250 so I've been looking around. Almost bought the Tesoro Silver Umax but I think I'll like this better...

  • Nothing wrong with a Silver uMax. But I consider it a "beep dig" machine. With the Ace 250 you have a lot more features. Plus you can also run it as a "beep dig" machine if you want. Good luck out there!

  • @mowerdog Oh no not at all.. In fact I bought it based purely on the reviews alone. The store I made my purchase from informed me that the Tesoro was on back order for another week or two and offered what he thought was a slightly better deal on the Garrett Ace. I'm glad it went this way now that it happened and I've looked around, this is a nice machine for the cash:-) Thanks and GL with your hunting Mowerdog!!

  • very helpful mowerdog, thanks a lot.

now about the depth meter on the 250's..... :)

  • Mowerdog, nice to know you people out there have a sence of humour....you need one for this hobby.Hats off to all the guys for their endevours in attempting to educate and inform us. Ive just got my 250 and any input is appreciated...keep it coming, thanks again, and good luck !!

  • Lets give it the old sweeperoo !!! Classic phrasing.

  • I think I was just lost for words. LOL. There was a guy on a forum that couldn't get the pinpointing down. He was frustrated. So I went and made this video on the first take unrehearsed. No editing or anything. After watching it there were a couple of things I would have changed but it was cold and windy that day. So I chose to run with what I had!

  • awesome thanks!

  • Will it detect deeper, i found a field full of roman coins found 54 of them, theres alot more out there but they too deep for my searchman fieldmaster to detect.

The garrat ace 250 sounds great thoe im sure it would do the job an recover what else is there to find.

  • Remember the Ace 250 only cost $212 US dollars. Is the Ace 250 a great machine? - Yes. Is it the best you can use?- Maybe in some areas. If I want the best depth on a known producing site should I buy an Ace 250? - Probably not. Here is the "only" thing that the 250 lacks - Adjustable ground balance. Can you go deeper by setting a machine up to balance out the ground? - You bet. I suggest looking at a Minelab 305. Until the Ace 250 has adjustable ground balance this 305 is a great performer.

  • Thanks mowerdog will deffo look into it.

  • @DiggingEngland I really envy your chances at finding something truly old being in Europe and all. I live in central Oregon and while its beautiful country with loads of gems minerals and gold, there just isnt any history here past the 1850's or so, gold rush and Oregon Trail sites is about all. Even though, its still a fun hobby but I'll have to go to the coast for even a slim chance at something old from a shipwreck:-) One guy here found a roman coin in the sand, there must be more.

  • Good video and instruction. HH JackinAustin

  • Hi mowerdog, new to this hobby and just got the ace 250. When you say "detune It" is that turning down the sensitivity?

    Cheers

  • Detuning a target simply shrinks the target size. This makes it more accurate to zero in on a target for pinpointing.

  • Thanks for that, got the hang of it now (nearly)

  • Thanx for that info. I was a little off in pinpointing to where I had to open my hole up even more. My goal is to be able to get my finds out of the smallest hole possible. Great info.

  • That method is good too. Whatever works good for the user.

  • Thanks mowerdog. This video was, and is very helpful to Ace users for sure. Not only for your accurate presentation for pinpointing, but also as a helpful open thread for future ideas. You must have saved me at least 100 hrs. on pinpoint alone.

  • Today I get my first metal-detector, the Garrett Ace 250. I had bought it used on ebay for 170 Euros.

The weather over here in Germany is not that good for metal-detecting because the ground is frozzen and snow is everywhere. But anyway, I could´nt wait to test it and my first find after 10 minutes of searching was a 50 Cent coin at a depth of 2 inches. Okay, that´s not a big fish, but anyway I´m glad that I found something.

btw: Your Pinpointing advice works great...thanks a lot ;)

  • That is great! Keep up the good work.

  • @ganimed1976 IS THAT MEATAL DETECTER ANY GOOD MATE

  • @LiMiTEDzV4 Hi mate, Yes...the Garrett ACE 250 is a great detector. I found lots of coins with it.....many very old coins. For example, I found some roman coins with it and some medieval coins. I also found some roman artifacts like a roman key, a duck head, musket balls, a bronze medal from the frensh/german war in 1870-1871 and other fancy stuff like that. If there is something in the soil, the Garrett will find it. I can recommend the Garrett Ace 250, it´s a good detector. ;o)

  • @ganimed1976 thanks for the help

  • @ganimed1976 I took the Garret Ace 250 to Bleiburg Austria where the Croatian Army surrendered to the British and then got massacred by the Serbs. I could not walk two feet without digging up shells. We were there for ten minutes and I got about 30.

  • this machine is crap for serious hunters.

  • How long did you try the Ace 250? I know a lot of 25 year plus hunters that do quite well with them. Tell us about your machine.

  • You know, it kept finding metalic grass, and couldnt even find a button sitting on the top of soil.

I understand in the states its a good machine, but cant see how.

Even the oldest, and biggest detectorist shop in the uk wont sell it.

  • Regton is the largest detector shop in the UK and he sells the Ace 250. If your were getting falsing on the grass then your sensitivity was too high. Most of the time running 4 bars is plenty of power. A fixed ground balance machine does have it's limitations in hotter soil. We have to remember that this machine costs $200. It works great in most soils. What machine are you using now?

  • Joan Allen is the biggest detectorist buisness, then regton i believe.

Sensitivity levels were no more than 4.

    Try around $300

Mate is waiting for a garrett gti1500.

    Lets hope its better.

  • Regton claims he's the biggest. Well it don't matter. But Nigel of Rigton has a video here doing a field test with the Ace 250. But the 1500 has ground tracking so it will be better. The Ace 250 over here is around $200. Good luck with finding a detector that works for you!

  • Cheers.

All the best with future finds.

  • what do you think of tesoro lobo supertraq?

  • Dunno mate, never used one.

But at nearly £650, it should be ok.

    ( US $1081.60)

  • hm i bought mine for $400 in excellent condition. it arrives today - cant wait.

  • well, this is 'rip off britain' i spose.

everyone wants to make money by hoicking up

    the prices.

  • you got riped. $250.00here in us.

    .

  • I didnt buy a tesero though?

like i say, rip off britain.

$158 of that price is VAT (Value Added Tax)

  • i always wanted a good one of these but dont want to look like the broke bum on the beach looking for lost goods... any ideas?

  • Detect in the evening and through the night. Use a headlamp and long handled scoop. There are a lot less people out at that time. Try to find a hunting partner. I do not hunt in and around people. By 6 pm people are leaving to go eat. This is the time to start hunting. Good luck.

  • thanks for this!

  • price of it?

  • The Ace 250 can be bought for $212 US dollars.

  • I must say that after watching your video I went out and this video made all the difference in finding my targets. Thanks for the great video

  • You will find that most of your targets will be directly under the inner coil in the 12 o'clock position.

  • Tin is a metal so I don't see why not?

  • can this detector detect tin?

  • can this metal detector detect tin?

  • Most coins are from the surface to 6 inches. The Ace hit's those easily. From 6 to 8 inches the ID may be off but it will still hit them both ways. Deeper than that is possible depending on your soil type and how you run your sensitivity. I dug a civil war Sharps bullet at 10 inches with the Ace.

  • what is the maximum depth, that the garrett 250 can reach ?

  • kewl video

  • by de tuning,do you mean de,sensitize,,,turn sensitivity down?

  • By placing the coil just off to the side or just above the target and re-pushing the pinpoint button shrinks the target response. After you re=push the pinpoint button keep holding it on. Then come back over the target and locate the target. Leave your sensitivity where it is.

  • Nice Video and useful. Thank you!

  • Nice Video! Thanks [from Finland] !

  • Wish I saw this earlier. I have been beach-combing because it is easy to dig. I can easily identify foil, bottle tops and other junk without ever digging, but my biggest problem is pinpointing. Wish I saw this before I went out today! This was a huge help, thanks for taking the time. Videos beat reading the manual and trial and error every time.

  • Thanks for the tip just got a Garrett Treasure Ace 200 today that is like new and needed the help..

  • Where is the cheapest site that I can buy this at? I'm really interested in getting one? So far the cheapest I've found was like $200. Help? :D

  • Another quest I have is do I need a permit of any sort to detect at the beach? or any where "Public" for that matter like a playground or whatever? Thanks! rated 5 stars!

  • Most department of natural resources (state parks) require you to get a free permit. Don't get caught without it. Some Corp of engineer lakes require you to have a free permit issued by them. Also before I detect any park or property I get permission. Keep the names and phone numbers of whoever gave you permission with you at all times. Before I hunt any city parks I send an email asking for a permit. Usually they say none is required. Print and save the email. Best to have it in writing

  • Is it worth saving the extra cash and going with the 2500 instead of the 250?

  • Will this be your first pro machine? If so then start with the 250. They hold 95% of their value used. This way if you sell it or upgrade you won't loose any money. Plus it's a great detector. If you have some good detecting hours under your belt then the Garrett 1350 is a good upper end machine. But it weighs about 1.5 pounds more.

  • Great, thanks for the advice! I am ordering a 250. It got alot of good reviews. I did some hunting out in Ft lauderdale and Miami last year, it was also a garrett, I found a couple coins, Im in New York near some old wagon trail country, going to search the area, thanks again, Ill prob make some vids in the future.

  • my advice is save the extra cash and get a

    xp Goldmaxx power

believe me you will regret getting a garret

the goldmaxx cannot be beaten in my mind

  • Any detector in the hands of a professional can be deadly. Even the 250. I'm glad your successful with the XP.

  • true my friend true:) i think sometimes actually it all boils down to a little bit of luck at times lol.

But for bang for buck the garret 250 is a lot of machine ofr the cash mate,in fact it beats quite a few machines that are three times the cost!(mr minelab im talking to you lol)what i was trying to say was if anyone is fortunate to have enough cash to buy the garret just carry on saving and get a gmaxx power.i was in no way saying the garret is a bad machine-on the contrary the garret is ace.

  • I have only seen some videos on the GM machine. It looks like a good one. Personally I like a notch detector for coins and jewelry. Really all machines beep on metal. It's really up to us to know when to dig or not. Good hunting to you!

  • true mate true-you can get a £1000 machine in the wrong hands and its just as good as one of them £20 you see on ebay lol.

dont get me wrong im not slating the garret250 infact i own one! in field tests we have done the garret has out performed machines for times the price, this little machine for bang for buck is the dogs bollocks-but after using the GMP i have not looked back.I dont know how garret have done it for the price lol.and the re-sale value of these 250 is better than gold lol

  • ps/excellent video by the way buddy:)

you have managed to fit into a 1 minute video what garret try to explain in a four page essay lol:)

  • That's true thanxx. While some people are fiddling with all those controls on high priced machine we are digging! The key is to pinpoint anr recover your target quickly. The more good targets recovered in an hour will net you the best treasure. If I'm limited in hunting time I will cherry pick the high conductors. This certainly reduces my odds of a gold ring or jewelry. If I have the time or unlimited access to the property I dig everything above iron. Lately I haven't been successful.

  • Thanks sir! I'll buy the sniper coil in that case.

  • One other thing ... do you think it's a good idea to buy the larger coil? I want to detect around the Black Rock desert area and hopefully find a nugget somewhere in all that weird sand out there. I'm thinking with the larger coil the machine could look deep in that stuff.

  • The larger coil would be deeper but it sees more ground at a time. This means that black sand will play fits with the Ace. The Ace has a factory set ground balance and that makes it tough to hunt bad soil. I would suggest buying the 4.5 inch Sniper coil to hunt for your nuggets.

  • Thanks mowerdog for your time and the info.:-)

Well, it's not a tear with anything flapping up. It's just more like a small cut in the material and which is in a jagged shape.

If the coil is filled with black epoxy then maybe it won't be a problem. I guess if I stick it in water I'll know for sure, and it'll still be under warrantee.

Interesting that you don't use a cover. I thought for sure that everyone used one. Maybe I'll hold off ordering one and see how it goes.

    Thanks!!

  • I just spoke with someone at KellyCo and was told that the 1/4" tear is normal, that it's part of the molding process. Question: Does anyone else that has an ACE 250 also have this "tear" that I'm talking about? (On mine it looks like water might leak in.)

  • Tell me more about the tear. I'm not sure what you mean.

  • I got my 250 last week and finally had a chance to look at it. To my disappointment, I discovered a 1/4" jagged cut on the shinny bottom rubber area of the coil.

I'm going to call Kellyco and hear what they have to say. Also, I think I was supposed to get some extra goodies in the deal, but never got 'em. So far I'm not off to a great start in this new hobby, but maybe that'll change.

By the way, about how much does a coil protector cost for the coil that comes with the machine?

    Thanks!!

  • The coil cover for the stock coil is about $14.00 The coil is filled with black epoxy. Some chipping doesn't hurt a thing. I never use coil covers because they fill with dirt and add weight to the machine.

  • Hey Mower thanks for the superb tips here. I have a 250 purchased 2 years ago from Kellyco Florida/ Wanda and hardly used it but now the summer is coming I`ll be out there. thanks again from the UK

  • Hey Mower, and tx again for the reply. I have tried the other coil which I got in the packet, and still the same problem.. Also, I am hearing cracking when I pinpoint, like a cracking noise when I pinpoint. Too bad, cause I really love this little machine. Its like my baby lol

  • Its brand new! Surely I wont be as unfortunate that I'll have a faulty one! I'll try to reset it again (I already did so, but to no avail), could it be because battery level is half way? Tx for helping out, I appreciate it!

  • Garrett has sold thousands with very little issues. It's possible that yours needs repair? It's probably the coil? Do you have a dealer close to try a new coil? Then call Garrett with your info. They will get right on your issue. Try to talk to Melinda there. She will get it done.

  • Hi Mower, can you tell me... when I swoop for something, and sensitivity is the fullest, or lowest (doesnt matter). Now, when I am sweeping, no sound goes off, but when I pinpoint, it does give me the full sound... why is that? tx

  • Reset the machine by holding the power button down until you hear 2 beeps when turning it on. It's about 6 seconds. Then without headphones put it in the all metal mode. Then wave a coin over the coil. If still no beep then send it in for repairs.

  • There's a ton of info at findmall. I'm khouse on those forums. But there is a lot of hunters that will give advice for any type or brand of detector. Check it out.

  • Good tip! thanks

  • Great!!!! Thanks alot mower! You're a star!

  • hey mower, question? I have had it a few times, that the detector is like going nuts, it makes all kinds of pings, this when the detector is not moving over the ground... and when I dig and pinpoint, nothing is there???

  • The first thing you do when this happens is reduce the sensitivity. Most of the time that is set at 4 or 5 bars. If your in bad ground that could be 2 or 3 bars of sensitivity. When your detector starts bonging by itself don't move your detector. Simply start reducing the sensitivity until it stops bonging and beeping. Then reduce one more bar. My suggestion is to set it at 4. This will go 6 to 8 inches deep in moderate soil.

  • Hiya! great video! I am also a beginner, and the 250 is very pleasant to work with! Its the prettiest as well! lol... This vid is great and very helpful... I am just sick and tired of finding aluminium foil, like packs of smokes, lol... but this is SUCH a nice hobby! i recommend it to everyone who wants to escape the wife for a few hours, without getting drunk!

  • On any detector the gold rings and jewelry come in at foil all the way through pull tabs. You must dig the trash to find the gold. To up your chances for gold hunt where jewelry is most likely lost. Swimming holes, beaches, sand volleyball courts and tot lots. This will up the percentage. Plus it's quicker and easier to dig or use a scoop. Good luck!

  • i just upgraded my 250, its a good start, but i neded something a little more accurate, dont get me wrong the 250 is a great detector, but my new minelab xterra 70 just leaves it for dead. As i said, im not saying the 250 is bad

  • I too had an Xterra 70. Is the 70 better than the 250? You bet. But it costs over $500 more. The 70 will do better in tough soils where an adjustable ground balance is needed. But for general hunting in most soils the 250 gets the job done very well for a $200 machine. My 70 was acting weird sometimes so I sold it after 6 months of use. I use the 250 for most of my hunts and still do well with it. You just have to become confident with the machine you have. Good hunting to you!

  • I just got mine today, this is a great tip for a beginner like me, thanks man 5*.

  • You'll be an expert in no time!

  • hehe, i tried your technique, and i found lots of coins in the beach!

  • Thanks from Germany ;-)

  • Your welcome.

  • You all just starting out with the 250 reduce your sensitivity. Don't run over 5 bars of power. Your Ace is very sensitive and a lot of users run it too high. Also there are gold rings in the pull tab range. Pull tabs make the ID jump around especially when swept a little off center of the target. A ring or coin will either lock on to one target ID block or only vary one block. A target that jumps from iron to dime is most likely junk. Try running in relic mode and digging only solid hits

  • i used it in my yard today and found all kinds of things like keys, pennys, a matchboxcar, and a neckalace. i guess it just gets better as you go. I really like my ace 250.

  • thanks for the info still working on the pin pointing thing

  • Once you figure it out it's very accurate. Keep practicing and good hunting!

  • The 250 has the most features per dollar than any detector so far. Let me know if you need one?

  • thanks for the tip today , i love my ace 250 it has a great range and the scale of what it can find is great too. i use it everytime i go prospecting, for gold and iron deposits , but it works best in parks and gravel areas...

  • Have you tried the Sniper coil? Try running at high sensitivity for gold prospecting? It's a great coil. Great for trash areas and play grounds too. Set it at 2 bars of sensitivity and you can get right next to steel at the tot lots. Good luck!

  • i have wanted to get the sniper coil , but held off becouse i havent heared anything about it- other then what the garrett site says.. but i am going to really look into it now thanks!

  • I've been using a Sniper for almost 3 years. It's a nice coil. Also the new Propointer from Garrett is tops. Let me know if you need any Garrett or Whites products at the best prices. Good hunting to you.

  • i bought a garrett ace 250 about three months ago and tryed it for the first time yesterday in Cripple Creek Colorado... I found two albums full of pennies from 1901 to 1946. I love this thing and would rather be addicted to crack than this.. I think i could give crack up easier.

  • hey man, thanks for the info on pinpointing.i have had my ace 250 for about 3 weeks now.i can find my targets pretty good by just pinpointing but the detuning will help a bunch.i get frustrated with some targets that are a pain.

  • Your great. Thanks for the advice.

  • I found a wheat penny with mine today..
