This I like the puma has a very large chain on it for protection. Even its bitting that girls arms and legs but with the chain there is a CHANCE to get away from it. I really hate to see large cats setup to hurt someone STUPID>
I've never commented on this video yet the Quirqui videos are the first I ever put into my favorites! I will never forget that 99.9% of people could not adequately care for an exotic animal, but seeing that people are dedicated to giving abandoned such animals loving homes where they can be happy like this is incredible. Quirqui may not be an abandoned former pet but the sentiment still stands. The mutual affection is amazing and the leg hug in the other Quirqui video is absolutely adorable.
Most people do not have the training, knowledge, time, veterinary care, or money to raise such an animal. If he/she does not turn out to be safe around people, it's the animal that suffers the consequences. Though the animal may love the owner, he/she may be dangerous to others. Like you said they must be taught young and they grow up fast. Even then there is no guarantee direct human contact is safe. He's playing. Even with dull teeth if he wanted to hurt her she would be missing a hand.
but... do all tamed pumas nibble like that? i would think it would be best to let them know not to bite starting froma young age. or.... is it just something you cant train them not to do?
just thinking from my experience of raising a kitten. i never told it to stop nibbling, and it always did. but most people i know let their kitten know its wrong, and the most they do is scratch
Oh, no you don't! Cougars are not like house cats, they are vicious, dangerous animals that would kill you the minute they'd look at you. Wild or tamed, take my word for it. "They're deadly."
that's clearly a stay here and pet me request. so cool.

Despite being a potentially dangerous carnivore, I find that to be the most adorable thing I've seen all day. He's like a big kitty cat. :)

Hey I worked with Quirqui last year....
He was really sick and could barely walk. But apparently he's making a good recovery.
