LoL I had a 300 moment today with my Space Marine army against an ork army in the tabletop game. I had about maybe 40 something models on the field. He had something like close to 100 orks at least (no trucks) and I only lost 4 guys. It was grand victory for me today =D!

spartans DID wear armour, not in the movie, but in the real life they did it, in fact thact and others factors were determinant to stand ground on termopilas because of their heavy armor and heavy weapons in contrast with the armors and weapons of the persian light infantry (they need to be ligth because of their vast numbers it wouldnt be possible to equip all of them even the persian army werent a million i think they were 250 k o 300k tops)

Space marines dont really have incredible number. I doubt theres more theres a lot more than 25.000 space marines in the Imperial army. But Chaos space marines on the other hand, have a lot more. Alone Iron Warriors have over 10.000 Chaos marines, i would guess about 10.000-15.000 for them alone.

Dude, the current strenght of the Ultramarines is 1000 marines, thats the standard with many of the chapters. With the exception of the Black templars which have the highest 6000-7000 marines currently, in the Imperium at least. And the grey knights, which have about 3000 marines.

Theres many chapters, but many of em is small, and contains about 200-300 marines only or so. The few that contains over 1000, is nothing compared the Chaos space marines which have much higher standards, and have about 10.000 in each of their horus heresy legions, they though, also have a lot of small renegade chapters, some are larger though, with +1000

True,true. Chaos steal from the Imperium for troops. Basically people are angry at the Inquisition, Ecclesiarchy, Administratum, etc. and then you have the Legions of Horus offering money, glory, and defence against perecution by the Imperium. Honestly, I understand why they choose to go to Chaos.

wow that was a good vid, really entertaining. and correction, 300 the movie was based on the graphic novel, thats why there are stupid monsters and stuff and the battle scenes super impose the red of blood, and yes the graphic novel was based on the battle of thermopolye, so in my opinion, the should have tried to make it look real and not absoluly ridiculous, yes the battle scense are immense but i would have rather see the factual battle :P
