Neil Diamond was part of the sound track to an incredible time in music. I tell my kids that I feel sorry for them that they missed alot of great music. Just think when all of this music was being recorded, the Beatles were still recording, along with so many other great bands. It don't compare to anything today.

When I was 12 years old, I received Hot August Night in 1972. Sent to me by one of those record deals like BMG, no bill, never figured it out. Bought it on cd for my mother a few years ago and she listened to it at least once a week. She passed away last year but is was really nice to not only hear the music from this era, but to see the man performing from back then. She would have loved it. And you've made my day. Better enjoy this folks! If you are Diamond fan, you are no doubt in love with Hot August Night. When he did this concert, he did not want to front up the cash to have it filmed, so it is lost to history, sadly. This was filmed about 11 months before the legendary performance at the Greek Theater in LA in 1972, so it's as close as any of us who could not go to the concert will ever get to experiencing him at this age. Thanks for posting!

@halphaguy I found another link that has parts that they seemed to have cut out of this concert. It is about four minutes of Neil talking in between about some of the songs he sings here. My guess, they cut it to make it fit the time frame. If you watch both then kind of mush them together in your brain you can get a better jist of the concert. It seemed unlinke Neil to not talk AT ALL. He did, but they cut it. Oh well...still a great little piece of greatness!
