I've seen special olympic kids compete and they love it, because when they do something right they get so happy right int he middle of their program or if they don't do something right they get mad!! If they didn't love the sport they wouldn't do it, they are amazing talented kids and nothings stopping them! <3

This goes to show that there are people who cannot accept others because they are different; but what we can do is to try and educate them that being different is not necessarily a bad thing. Hopefully they will change their views on a lot of things and this world would be that much better. Keep up the good work!

what is time4change64 talking about, im an ice skater and i no how hard skating is and how much effort you need to put in to win a competition, just face it this little girl a very good ice skater and you can't take that away from her, and i have been to hundreds of competitions and they don't place bets on children

these kids do put effort and there is nothing bad about watching these videos! i agree with HabboDJScarlet! this little girl didn't do anything bad! She just went on ice and put all her effort in her skating and i bet you time4change64 you don't even skate!!!!!!!!!!! because if you had to put skates on and start to skate better than her that would probably be impossible! so just think about it and never write a comment again unless you are going to be nice! It is just terrible that these retarded kids are forced to compete in these things for the enjoyment of normal people. I even understand that there is gambling on these events. Its not much different then dog fighting events. You people involved in this should be ashamed of yourselfs

I suspect you are just being antagonistic intentionally, but just in case you are being serious...no one has forced Lauren to compete. She loves skating which is apparent and she is a Global Messenger for Special Olympics. My guess is she'd blow you away in a competition if you ever had to put on skates.

oh wow!! This video was so good for me to watch. I have a disabiliy of my own; & so do a few of my friends as well. I thought i would never make it in life cause i was always being made fun of. But i just graduated high skool and now i'm moving onto work. it just goes to show that just because u have a disability, doesn't mean u won't make it in life. Thx for posting this video.

my brother has down syndrome. he's 13.

we're actually considering getting him and his friend (who happens to be a girl) pair skating lessons. since i skate and we practically live at the rink anyways :D
