@eah2119 if you think about how little time it took us to acually get into space, the idea of traveling to new planets seems very like in the next 40-100 years.
I know it's for the greater good, but somehow I resent that we have to use pop junk like Avatar in order to get people interested in science. It's like we're trying to convince a bunch of preschoolers that they need to eat their vegetables.
@Illkiron It's a guess, the discovered sun and planets are light years away, millions of light years if not thousands... if it takes light 150 million years to get here, then we are seeing a 150 million year old image. If it's that far away then the planet probably no longer exists.
@tcpnet I think it could exist, Earth has 4.54 billion years, the question is: could there be life? and if it is possible to have life, are they still there, or were they there?
wow.. new planet? can human live there??

Just push the light speed button and off you go. But stay away from Europa, do not try to land there.
BergenCafe 1 year ago
The first thing NASA should do is try to break the speed of light and see what happens. Then, we can worry about traveling to new worlds.

giddygiddy85 1 year ago
@giddygiddy85 lmao. Just saying, looking at the stars and discovering planets that may have life is one thing. Going there is the next step.

Yea, Guess what? Its 150,000,000 Light-years away.. So far that we are seeing a old image of the planet, it no longer exists.

@tcpnet Kepler 9 is only 2000 light years away. NASA is only searching for Planets inside of our galaxy.

@allTRIPLE1 Alright, we are seeing a 2000 year old image, not like we can ever get there... thats probably half a million years in a space shuttle...
