  • Thank you very much for posting this video! We drove this route on July 10th, 2010 and it was WONDERFUL!!! We had a GREAT time driving this route. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WANTING A GREAT ADVENTURE!!! By the way - I just love this guy's commentary and accent - he sounds like a true Southerner!

  • Is that Early Cuyler narrating the video?

  • No, that is the World Famous TruckerTwotimes meself

  • LOL - I've been over that road in Winter, in a W900.

The memorial stones for the snow plough & schoolbus that went off the edge were really encouraging hehe.

First & last time I went over that highway thankfully..

  • What brand boats were you hauling, truckertwotimes?

  • them were Bayliner made in Mexico

  • Where were they headed? I use to work at a Bayliner dealer in Illinois.

  • Great scenery and love the drive up the 550 but damn we can do with out the yuk yuk commentary. M-u-s-i-c

  • I make a trip to Colorado every Summer and love this stretch of road in between Durango and Ouray.

  • Great footage....The San Juans are beautiful. No place like it. Gods Country.

  • Beautiful !I live 45 minutes from this lovely place.

  • I know everywhere this guy has been, wanna know how? Because I live in bayfield, a small town 10 miles west of Durango, I go up to Silverton all the time. I love it up there.

  • I'm planning a 3 month road trip, Summer '08, from Montana to Arizona with a major stop-off in Colorado for some Rocky Mountain highs. Ouray, and the area around there, has become a sort of "mecca" because of the scenic mind-blows and also the ghost towns in the area. All I've "seen" so far is from GoogleEarth.

This drive you've posted is like heaven on a stick to me!!! Many thanks....I'm gonna drive it a few more times before next year!

  • In 1991...A truck loaded with Potatos became a Runaway on I think 550...14 miles with NO AIR....ended up Carening into the Steam Train in Downtown Durango...got an artical about that in Railfan and Railroad Magazine

  • be-ute-iful...cant wait to get over there..***** rated..thnx TTT 4 the ride.."S"(onto part 2)

  • I love it, we stayed at that hotel called Cascade Village at 8:30 and took Jeep trails from Silverton to Telluride, and many others. It was awesome!

  • can't wait for the others to get posted great scenic route

  • White, Puffy, Cottonball lookin clouds: Cumulus Clouds ;)
