this is my car in april(?) 2005 on the A31 in germany from Bottrop heading to Borken. The engines consumes 37l / 100km at full speed. The car was produced end 2002 and I still own the car with now more than 220.000km.
how much did u pay for it? im looking for a new ride next couple of months stis are just overpriced garbage i want one but im not paying 20k for a 6 year old car
nice drive, definetly a powerful car, i would say that your car is better than the R, even with less hp, but less weight too.
What do you think about the steering, ive read in a lot of reviews that the steering feel is light, but for what i can see in your video is very precise and has no play at all, how would you describe it please..
@yamahaevo it's got 50 hp less, but weights around 350 pounds less also... no angle gear , or AWD issues, uses less gas, better turning circle, cheaper to mantain, ( each shock absorber of the s60r is 400 dollars) and you could get a nice set of springs and shocks for about 1000 dollars, and the t5 would handle almost as good as the R.
@aaronciviris I have a 06 S60R and it is a great car and a blast to drive. Dont have to worry about angle gear issues as much since they beefed it up in the 05+ models.
Was going to go out and do a high speed run on the autobahn today and record it myself but decided not to since it is a saturday and there would be too much traffic. Car has a good bit of mods done to it both in the engine compartment and suspension and in comparison to my 420 whp LS1 swapped E36 BMW its no slouch.
The top speed is actually 260 km/h; it's a bit difficult to ascertain from the graphic in the lower right corner. Regarding the speed: take notice of how fast he overtakes other cars, or how quickly landmark objects pass. I've driven on the autobahn a couple of times, and just like the french highways, the average speed is about 150-160 km/h. 260 km/h will feel just like portrayed in this video. How anyone can fake this is beyond my understanding.
I wish I couyld drive my Volvo like that our our North and South Malaysian expressway! Bloody speedtrap all over the deng place..I respect the German autobahn road system- we need that kind of road system in Malaysia!
How is the gas mileage on the s60 its a large factor in whether I buy it or not... and I'm getting conflicting reports on rating sites... Im looking at the 2005 or 2006 S60 2.5T. Also if anyone could tell me how the repair costs are that would be great... Thanks!
I have a 200HP S60 and I reached also that speed of 260km/h and even a bit over on Autobahn. I think the real speed must be about 250 kmh, but this is definitely more than the 230 kmh mentioned by Volvo for this model (with manual gear obviously, I hate automatics). :)
I have a S60 T5 model 2003 also with 247hp, it's really nice to drive. Very quiet, also very fast if u want to. I was thinking of turning it to gas LPG. Do know anybody who has done this to the car? Nice video...Volvo are very nice car to drive...
its older then 2004 look at the sidemirrors and the speedomater or whats ever it's called there are no silver rings around it.. in 2004 they changed the model a bit then agein in 2005 sence then they have been allmost the same and the T5 has 260hp sence 2004 models and a 2.4l engine 00-04 has 2.3l with 247hp
It's not my video, so can't provide you with any info regardings mods. But I reckon it's a stock car, perhaps the 2.3L T5 with 247hp. The 2008 T5 is a 2.4L with 260 hp.
Reportedly, with very active driving, it will be 1,00~1,49 liter per 10km. It's thirsty, no doubt about that! On the other hand, the turbo per se provides a fuel efficient engine in correlation with the 5 cylinder power output of 250hp. Get a stage 1 chip upgrade to lessen the consumption.

the S60T5 is restricted to 250km/h. the engine consumes 37l/100km at full speed.
But not yet, the engine must be replaced after 180.000km

I got to 220 and beyond no problem with the 2.4 ltr 185hp engine. Prolly sucks fuel like crazy though. Standard mileage is around 10l/100km.

Acceleration seems to be better than the 850 t5 we have.
