Ophiuchus is one of the 48 constellations listed in Ptolmey's charts in the second century, thus it is not new. Granted many astronomers had not account for its 19 day period because they believed the sun moved over it to Sagittarius in its revolutions. Trust me I work for hubble, I know my stars.

Though it was listed, it was never acknowledged... for good reason. The constellation in question was considered false due to the plane of orbit of the Earth. Good try though. Yes I work for a telescope. I work for one of the most prestigious telescopes in the world and I don't see how my salary matters.
