Metallica should record an album with Dave while kirk takes a break for a bit. Dave has said in many interviews that he would want to play with them again, and James has hinted towards "big things to come in 2012" so I'm really hoping that the new Metallica album being worked on is recorded like the old days and has Dave on lead. They're on the list, yes. As are Neil Peart, Gar Samuelson and Mike Portnoy. There are also some Jazz drummers on there, but I'll spare you that much.
I like this song because it really serves as a precursor for the thrash metal epic. Metallica perfected it with Master of Puppets, and you can trace its roots back to bands like Thin Lizzy and Black Sabbath, but this is the first song where it really takes shape in its structure.
The Megadeth/Metallica is so fuckin childish and nonsense. Just because Mustaine was kicked out of Metallica, that doesn't mean you have to hate any of the bands. Mustaine left an influence on Metallica, and Metallica left an influence on Mustaine. So fuckin stop it and just enjoy the music, they're all over it and there's no point in taking sides (never was). The Four Horsemen is wayy better namely because of the addition of Kirk's solo at the slower tempo part, and the changes to Dave's solo. Either way the solos are freaking epic. The Four Horsemen is wayy better namely because of the addition of Kirk's solo at the slower tempo part, and the changes to Dave's solo. Either way the solos are freaking epic. Mustaine made this album what it was with his sound and song ideas, without it metallica would be nowhere and to be fair if he stayed with metallica they'd be so much better but then we'd never have megadeth who are so superior and have stayed true to their thrash roots bar the awful risk album.
Shame I like both bands, but I dislike anything by metallica post RTL.
