@giolics I guess you missed my point, Verizon is saying these workers work in the "legacy" part of the business, this is not true. Verizon telecom provides high speed optical carriers to cell sites, which allows Verizon wireless to provide their 4G service. Also, their FIOS service is one of the most advanced networks in the country. This is by far an old legacy service that no one wants anymore. I do agree that both sides spread misinformation, but in this case I know Verizon is not truthful

I am a GTE/VZ going on 33yrs CWA member here in Texas and have to say you two guys did the right thing in making sure those two managers didn't kill themselves! They were forced up there and probably have not worked outside in years.I would have done the same thing. NOW,a scab is a different story! HOWEVER they made one point that I think should be corrected - not trying to get rid of the union workers, VZ is trying to get out of date agreements changed to reflect 2011 America Work Reality - you should pay into your healthcare, you should not want a pension but rather a 401k and being limited to 5 days of sick leave
