@dodico20 And you know this how? You do realize that a bigger plate would also have weighed more, been more awkward to handle, required a larger stove to heat it up, and cooled off faster?

However that tool is still in use.I have made one to do a small project. I just so happen to be a welder/fabricator among other things by trade. Weight would not be an issue as you could even out the weight by making a smaller diameter bar. They just built in wrong. More surface area seen right here 5:27 and to me that looks right

A larger plate, even with compensation for increased weight, would still cool off faster and require a larger stove to heat. And a smaller diameter bar would provide less area to grip and be more prone to warping and breakage.

I'm not saying you might not be correct - I'm just saying that before you accuse historical experts of "BS", you'd better have more than some unsupported, ill-thought-out fancy as "evidence".

The stove size would not be an issue either. they made the bar right? not to mention they had swords, etc. Just manually move the video to 5:27 if you not gonna click it. Then look at the image. You will see how the historical records depict it. If that doesn't settle it for you then your just being stubborn/ignorant. Your making me repeat myself and this is just silly. Debate over/settled.

@dodico20 You are right, that tool indeed is still in use, I am asphalt worker and I have used that tool many times. But the plate in our tool is much bigger, about size of 25 cm X 20 cm.

If you go to 5:27 and look at the tool, you can clearly see how it should look and how it also has more surface area. When they did the reenactment they messed it up is all. I rest my case.
