There is a book on anti-estrogenic diets that I have read and followed. It's title is "The Antiestrogenic Diet"- basically it amounts to eating your cruciferous veggies like broccoli in large amounts. There are some supplements as well, one called DIM. It is not easy to follow but you can also limit your exposure by using glass containers, drinking distilled water, etc. I do all this and I still need replacement therapy.

Lowering testosterone and DHT doesn't necessarily feminize. I intentionally take anti-androgens that lower male hormones drastically. I'm using them to treat male-pattern baldness (Spironolactone and Finasteride). I haven't noticed any feminization of my personality: I'm still a warrior, ready to fight when someone offends me. I haven't really noticed any feminization of my body either, other than loss of body and facial hair. So estrogens may be very negative, but low male hormones, not so.

This is very interesting. Personally, being a cancer surviver and also having recently lost a parent to cancer I am far more concerned about the carcinogenic affects of chemicals than what to me seems a negligable hormonal effect. I had thought and perhaps I should revist this, that it was shown decades ago that xenoestrogens had far less affect than the naturally occurring plant estrogens that we all eat, for example, those found in wheat flour.

As the good dr. should have told you, there are many things that will affect the male to female ratio of any population besides hormone levels, for example, water temperature will change that ratio in reptiles. Another point I wanted to make is that the ratio of male to female births in the US and around the world has not changed significantly in hundreds of years. It is typically 105 boys for every 100 girls. Being a heterosexual male, I for one do not have any objection to seein that change

Other than male to female ratio, which obviously has not been affected in the human population, the only other measurable change would be hormone levels in the population. For this to be accurate, one would need to randomly test a large sample of both males and females several times over the course of several decades to obtain this data. I think that would be worthwile though I have found no such study done except on a meaninglessly small scale.

I have read some anecdotal information that is worth pursuing that sugests that birth control pills affect how feminine a woman looks, suposedly they make women look and act more femine, again, I see no problem with this providing there are no other or negative affects.

As for the feminization of males, I have seen no measurable data that sugests that the population of males in the US or any other country has become les masculine or more feminine than it has always been. There has always been a number of men who were a bit more feminine that typical and there always has been a number of women who have been a bit more masculine than typical.

I believe this is due to the fact that people who were atypical for their gender tended to make a concerted effort to hide that fact and generally the media tended not to show that. However in recent decades as the public has become more accepting, such atypical people have been comming out of the proverbial closset.
