  • u ppl are just plain dumb -.- trail class involves jumping in a western saddle..trail riding involves riding and juping in a western saddle at some points she did juts fine and why would she need better jumps? So a small pvc pipe that bends is diffrent from a large one? get a life and worry about yyour self

  • HOLY CRAP WHATS WRONG WITH YOUU!

  • Wear a helmet? Are you people that terrible at riding horses that you actually NEED a helmet? All the negative comments about helmets and "hurting" the horse are ridiculous. Because it's not like she's going to listen to you. Read her bio, she's been riding for 17 years and hasn't needed a helmet in that time. Why start now? This has become political.

  • 1.GET A FUCKING HELMET

    2.GET AN ENGLISH SADDLE

    3.GET SOME PROPER JUMPS

4.STOP GALLOPING YOUR HORSE ON THE ROAD

you should be ashamed of your self

and your yard should have it lisence taken

away for letting you do that

  • put your helmet on love...

  • 1 wear a helmet i dont care if you dont like the way it looks its safer 2 dont jump with a western saddle its not meant for that 3 you clearly dont know how to properly jump and neither does your horse so you shouldnt be jumping 4 get real jumps that are meant for orses so they dont get hurt 5 you just shouldnt be jumping preiod

  • YOU should never ever jump in a western saddle!!!!. As you can see in the video the saddle is restricting his scope so no wonder he's knocking the poles down. If you want a horse tht has to be put down because of a damaged spine then get on with it.

  • Guys its her horse, she'll do what she wants too, i mean yes a western saddle isnt good to jump in, i know that, but i mean i dont think she put this video up just for people to leave her rude comments!

  • I hate how people say the horse doesn't know how to jump. Do you think a horse will pop out of the womb already knowing how to jump properly? theres something called "teaching" and thats exactly what shes doing.

  • Guys.. She abviously DOESNT give a crap about what you all say. Its HER horse, she can do what she wants with him. In the western day EVERYone jumped in western saddles.

we didnt have many english saddles then, and you didnt see the horses die cause of it. calm your beans

  • @SandbackRider PLUS Horses can buck higher than she's jumping. How do you think people used to break horses? They'd cinch 'em up and hop on until they stopped bucking. If a horse can buck 4ft and still be able to be used until the cowboys ran them into the ground, then her teaching her horse to jump using a western saddle is nothing. Chill out. It's like mounting on the right side to you guys. You all are so used to seeing horses jumping english that you freak out when someone jumps in western.

  • helmet????! and get an english saddle. western saddles are not for jumping. english saddles are for jumping :)

  • You guys western saddles aren't "bad" for your horse to jump in. It's just not recommended because the horn could seriously injure you if something were to not go right. My friend jumped 3 1/2 feet in a western saddle. The horse jumped it too late, and my friend fell on the horn. Not pretty >.<

    Soo..I'm just saying...

  • There IS jumping in gymkhana, guys- it's called a hurry-scurry jump. However, it's pretty low. 2 1/2 ft is nuts.

  • your gonna kill ur horse

  • Western saddles do not provide enough room for a horse's shoulders to jump fences like this.

If you want to jump, invest in a used english saddle. That is of course if you want to be able to ride and jump your horse for years to come, and not months to come.

  • :(

  • dumbass

  • or future reference, if your jumping over chairs, turn them the other way arpund, so if thehorse trips, the bar just falls, it doesnt slide and get stuck, because thats what happens when you see horses bail and then so a face plant.

  • He is really cute jumping! You should compete on him!

  • DO NOT JUMP IN A WESTERN SADDLE IF U EVER WANT TO RIDE HIM AGAIN!!!! If what u want is jumping , don't be an idiot : RIDE ENGLISH! Your horse moves wayyyy too english for that saddle . AND are u TRYING to purposely give him arthritis ??!!! U ARE NUTS!!!

  • NEVER jump western it isn't good for the horses back and your horse kinda jumps like a deer not trying to be mean or anything but it is kinda true

  • not only are the jumps u are using un safe.. But u are putting too much weight on that horse by using a western saddle. Look, If you want to jump but dont have a fancy english saddle, Jump bareback. and Make shure that both sides of the bar can come down when you jump, of your horse can trip and fall.

  • you need to make it closer to the other jump to long for his lil legs (:

  • Shut up!

she's just having a bit of fun, the jumps aren't big enough to do a lot of damage, and most of the time she looks great.

  • @Bubble734 I agree that people should stop bitching about each other!! But she is teaching him to jump so it's really important she gets it right . . which she isn't doing a lot of the time sorry :-\

  • I think considering you were riding in a western saddle on a horse that looked like he wasn't too sure you did a good job:) i'd just lay off jumping in a western, they really aren't built for it, you and your horse would probably come on loads if you managed to get an english.

  • 1. You should NEVER jump in a western saddle. It isn't good for the horses back, and it doesn't help you to help him jump by getting in a two point. 2. You shouldn't be jumping a horse that clearly, hardly knows how to jump because you both can get hurt. Plus if you don't know how to jump properly, you aren't going to be teaching him well at all. And lastly, get some real jumps before you hurt your poor horse.

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou naaahh , the saddle deosnt hurt the horses bacck , it when your ass slams down into the saddle , and this jumps like 2 feet ssoo calm the fuck doowwn .. and you caann get into the 2 point as long as the stirrups are short enoughhh .. shes just havving fun , if yeaa dont like it . DONT LOOK UP WESTERN JUMPING ! duuuuh .

  • @MehKodyLove I didn't look it up, it came up in recommended videos from just watching jumping. And yes, it does hurt the horse's back. Western saddles aren't shaped for a horse to move that way, that's why they invented JUMPING saddles. And two feet is a lot for a horse that isn't sure of what they're doing. And it's gonna suck when the horse jumps wrong and the saddle horn goes straight into her stomach. Having fun is one thing as long as you're doing it smart. Then there's being reckless.

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou the western saddle is not bad to be jumped in. The point of a western saddle was to evenly distribute weight out... please get educated before you bash on a video.

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou Also, if anything hear english is and has been proven to be more of an inhumane sport and more abusive sport. I do both so dont yell at me saying that I dont know what im talking about, I live right next to WEF (beezie maden and all them jump there all the time) like I said before, please educate yourself

  • @KatiexKIRA the western saddle is designed to distribute weight evenly on the flat. it still isnt designed to move the way a horse has to when they jump. I never said you didn't know what you were doing, I was just saying it isn't good for a horse. And if you look at any equestrian sport you can find something that is considered "inhumane" or "abusive." And that's cool, just because you live near them doesnt mean jumping in a western saddle is correct.

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou of course not, just like barrel racing in an english saddle isnt correct, same same. but in this case she is jumping a small jump.... so why should it matter? chances are shes jumping for shits and giggles.. Just like you english riders barrel race for shits and giggles. so leave the girl alone about her position, what saddle shes jumping in and so on.. because she probably doesnt plan on going to actually english shows in a western saddle

  • @KatiexKIRA exactly. but 2 1/2 feet can be quite big for a horse that doesnt really know how to jump which doesnt look like he knows how to do. maybe he can but it just doesnt look like it. and i know people do, but i've hardly ever seen someone barrel race in an english saddle just because its so much harder. and i dont mean to be technical, but she couldnt go to an english show in a western saddle..

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou I know you cant go to an english show in a western saddle, 1 I live right next to WEF/wellington..... and sorry to burst your bubble but im pretty sure every horse knows how to jump...its pretty much a known instinct that isnt taught. reining barrel racing dressage and such are taught sports, but every horse knows how to jump

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou you also dont have much to say about jumping and what not considering 3 months ago you were only doing ground poles, and a month ago are now only doing tiny cross rails

  • @KatiexKIRA but you also dont know ive been riding for 8 years. ive jumped up to 3'6 but i had stopped riding for 6 months for personal reasons and was just getting back into it plus i'm at a new stable now so i know a lot more than you think. i dont record everything i do.

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou awesome, im glade you have been riding for 8 years. I have been riding for a round 14 years haha

  • @KatiexKIRA thats cool. i wasnt trying to say ive been riding longer, i was just telling you because you seem to think that i had only been riding for a short amount of time

  • @KatiexKIRA and the one horse i was doing ground poles with, if you had read, was recovering from an injury and couldnt jump and the horse i was doing tiny cross rails with is still learning how to jump. so dont point fingers

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou Honestly, I think it is her horse and she can do what she wants with it. I know I don't like hearing people telling me what to do with my horse. If she injures her horse, it is on her

  • @KenzieDoesntLikeYou its fine to jump in a western saddle in trail compitions you HAVE to! and her position looks ok you and that was really rude of you to say get a real jump MANY people dont have real jumps because they r very expensive!!!!! and it doesnt look like you ride western uhh!!

  • @jessicalove2246 yes you do, but the jumps are much lower than this. her position is fine, i was saying that if she were to get off balanced, it could hurt a bit. and i know that it's expensive, but makeshift jumps are expensive, if you can't afford a real one, you shouldn't jump for the sake of yourself and your horse. and my few videos don't show my whole riding career, sorry to say. i've ridden for 8 years, i've ridden western, i've shown western, i just prefer english over western.

  • @jessicalove2246 makeshift jumps are dangerous*

  • =\ maybe an endurance saddle would do you best =] it has the almost comfort of a western saddle but it is lighter more english saddle like i think its a perfect mix of both saddles =p

  • Western saddles for jumping can hurt a horses back over a long time.

If you do it very rarely, it'd be ok.

  • It's not that western saddles are 'too heavy' for horses to jump in, I mean, horses can hold a lot of weight. It's that western saddles are dangerous to jump in, not for the horse necessarily, but for the rider. You can't use your legs properly, you can't get into a two-point, and when you land your tail bone smashes into the saddle, hurting your back and the horse's.

  • @LizzsLizards If you can actually ride well enough to be jumping, all of that WON'T happen.

  • you should really get an english saddle for monty. he doesnt look very big to be able to support your weight plus the saddle over a jump. and it would be best for you and him in an englsih saddle

  • why are you jumping in a western saddle?

  • @outlaw12cowboy probably because she dosent have an english. i dont have an english so i only jump like half a foot to a foot in western the rest is bareback

  • @BreyerGirl25 ohh okay well thats cool... to me its way harder to jump in a western saddle i jump bareback lol

  • That isn't 2'6".

  • @cinch920 im wit tucker72100 if u knew ppl wuld critizciz u on this dont put it up 2nd its bad to jump a horse with a western saddle, its wayy to heavy for da poor horse,

and yd u jump without knowing how to??

  • Um why are you jumping with a western saddle on they are to heavy for the horse to jump in?

  • your such a stupid asshole...u cant jump in a western saddle...how would you like it if you were a horse and you had a dumbass rider on you who jumped you 2 foot in a heavy western saddle......i dont think you would like it so dont do it...poor horse

  • Don't jump in a Western saddle! They are not made for that

  • Don't look behind you after you jump. Even if it is for fun, atleast do it right,

  • I have no idea how to jump but I do it all the time on my horse, its for fun so why does it matter.

  • I think you did really good! I ride a TB in a western saddle, and I jump her. I don't have english tack. I don't have jumps. I jsut use a 5-gallon buckets. Works for what we do!~

  • One time, my friend was jumping REALLY high in a western saddles (I didn't want to haha), & the horn snapped her bra.. hhaha

  • Need to raise your stirrups, your getting left behind...But cool

  • No offence, but if your trying to learn how to jump and teach a horse how to jump, its not going to turn out well.

  • that looks so funn ahahaaha u do welll with him i have to say two comments tho heels down girl and tighten up ur rens so its easy to keep ur hands steady sorry one more :) slide up ur hand when u jump but as u said no 1 taught u so for some one who never learned or learned great job!

  • hey have fun good luck

  • Ummm... I think she's doing good. Its for fun!! Good lord people, I'm never took lessons in jumping yet I set up jumps and jump them just for fun. My horse enjoys the variety and I do as well. I will say I switch to english on the higher jumps though, hehe watch out for that saddle horn!

  • Wow. I like how many people just want to critique. If you're going to complain, get the balls to do your own video and do it "right" or whatever ya'll are saying. I haven't jumped my horse but I think i'm gonna try soon :) but i only have a western saddle sooo.... haha but good job girl, keep riding!

  • Freaking OUCH.

  • you're really talented for jumping western 2 1/2 ft! quick tip: don't look back after you jump a jump to see if you knocked it down :)

  • This hurts just watching it.

  • get a helmet for gods sake

  • its just for fun guys gezzz

  • OMG! how do you get your name icon thinggy like that!!!!!!!! it looks soo good! and iyour name "cinch" is kick ass!!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE IT! i always get the horn in my ribs. i do english and westren. and i way perfer jumping english. i always end up hurt after jumping westren hahaha. ill be sure to post my jumping westren and i gess we will see... haha

  • i have a pony and i ride western and he can jump over 5 feet.

  • @laurenblake1998

    whats your point ???

shes just learning , same with her horse !

  • You Shouldnt be jumping your horse in a western saddle. Western saddles limit your horses range of motion and cuase preasure points on her back when she does something the saddles not made to do.This is why they make speacial saddles for jumping horses. If you contiue to jump your horse in this saddle even just for fu it could cuase damage to her back ad muscle formation.

  • I can't believe that your jumping him with a western saddle....that could cause serious damage to the horses back- not smart and not good horsemanship. Also (not trying to be mean) but your not riding him right at all- please take my advice and properly train that horse!

  • haha... you might want a english saddle

  • wow...jeash guys...wetsern riders jump to we have a class called scury and its were you jump like 1 1/2 to like 2ft so stop thinking you know everything about jumping..and we know about horses and how there made its not like wed do anything to hurt our horses..and my grandpas paint jumped 4ft in western saddle..and the jump was 4ft high and 3ft cross..on rock terrian from the water...so its important that our horses know how to jump..jeash ha

  • Hahaha thats great haha your horse is like a natalral

  • mabye you should try that in an english saddle instead....

  • Haha! Thats pretty cool!!

  • Ignore The Haters :) (not Hating) But Western Saddles Are 2 heavy to jump in over a foot That may be why hes struggling and for no teaching Your doing A Great friggin Job! :)

  • hey cool video and well done but just space out your jumps a little so he can take a proper stride not a bounce then he might not knock it :) xx

  • I thought people in western saddles cant jump :l

  • You are going to kill a horse doing that. That WILL RUIN THEIR BACKS! HAVE COMMON SENSE IF YOUR GOING TO BE HANDLING HORSES!

  • You can see the horse isnt comfortable with jumping the jumps as it is rushing over the jumps as quick as it can and dont even try and say thats enthusiasm!!!

  • good job for never having a lesson!! i think u should buy an english saddle and really start getting into jumping! that horse is a natural jumper!

  • Kay first things first, why are you jumping your horse out of control, both your upper body before and after the jump (falling forward or going ahead of the horse or being left behind), your legs flying around like chikcen legs... has anyone taught you to keep your leg on over the jump??? Not off in the wind???

Third thing, when "teaching" your horse to jump dont use lawn chair to hold up the jumps, if your horse gets caught up in the jump (because you dont know how to jump) you both will fall

  • @tucker72100 its called jumping for fun. way to take the fun outta it. geezzz u un-fun person. u sound boooooring.

  • @cinch920 hmm... kay if you say so... I jump professionaly, for a living there kid, so I kinda know what Im talking about. I also know how to have fun while doing it, with out harming my horse...

  • @tucker72100 okeydokey ms.trainer i know where to come for advice!NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ALYnAPACHE whatever, your choice... you are a western rider afterall... have fun doing ammm i gues what you cant really do!?! oh sorry i mean best... CHOW!!!

  • @tucker72100 no im not im english....but i also ride western!and i can jump thankyou!

  • @ALYnAPACHE ya I can tell you dontride english... and that your are a western rider, why else would you be riding in western tack???? and the jumping concept... keep trying maybe you'll get it ... thankyou!!!!

  • @tucker72100 ummm im not the person in the video!

  • @ALYnAPACHE ...sure...

  • @tucker72100 im not watch my videos im blonde not brunette!totally different

  • @tucker72100 For One You Cant Say That A Person Riding In A Western Saddle Doesnt Ride English!! I Ride Both English And Western But I Mainly Use a Western Saddle That Right There Is called Judging and In Your case Bullshit!!

  • @FreekyDragon96 for training or teaching a young horse you dont use a western... calm down... there's a reason why serious jumpers DONT jump in western tack... thats what im getting at, not that you cant ride both...

  • @cinch920 its not called being borring, its called being safe and practicing good hormanship. sure have fun! i love jumping no stirrups, hands, eyes, but you have to make sure there is someone who knows about jumping horse and a horse who knows what hes doing to, and using proper standards and poles. you could be hard on your horses back bouncing around like that when he is trying to jump. (which it doesnt look like he does often)

  • @cinch920 lol

  • @tucker72100 i'm also pretty sure noone has ever taught me how to jump. so that would explain my so called "chicken legs"

  • @cinch920 haha yes it would, yes it would for sure...

  • @tucker72100 she was just doing that for fun...i know that when i jump in a western saddle i tend to do it worse then when im in an english saddle...give her a break and lighten up

  • @Saph58 ya i know she's doing it for fun... but she still should be careful of how she sets up her jumps... just in case!!

  • @tucker72100 I use grain buckets and watch my vids if you want to see out of control riding. and second she is an amazing jumper so do not say that ifu cant even ride like her.. k?

  • @TheHunterxJumper and how do you know if i cant ride like her or better?

  • @tucker72100 gigggle... oh.. just thinking.

  • @TheHunterxJumper haha :) about what... how english and western riders are ALWAYS bashing each other?

  • @tucker72100 Lol im more ENGLISH<33 HUNTER CHICK! lol. Idk.. I see that alot! Do u do english or Western? Cud u check out my vids? and comment! Im Clara.BTW. .... AND YA!!! haha

  • @TheHunterxJumper Ya English... Jumper and Dressage.... once upon a time ago hunter... LONG time ago... yes of course!!!

  • @tucker72100 I dont have that much patients for dressage.. I have no rythm

  • @tucker72100

i have something to tell you "tucker" from what it sounds like you are a fancy snobby English jumper/hunter

and us western riders have something to say to you !!! WE DONT FUCKING CARE !!!! you no nothing about ridding western , you cant lean forward as much as you do in a english saddle ! and when you guys are jumping your fancy jumping horses over 4/5 foot jumps it is ruining there legs , so by the age of 14 they are not going to be able to be rode anymore !

    so screw you !!!

  • @MehKodyLove and what about your barrel racers and reins... no different... their hocks and stifles are shot by the time they are in their ealry teens... and we dont start jumping them hard until they are 5 and old (most grand prix horses in the jumpers rings are usually in their mid to later teens... so how can their legs be shot?)... and one last point we dont start competing and show our horses under saddle when they are TWO!!!!!! what about that??? Just pointing out the obvious...

  • @tucker72100 some people are still learning to jump...not everybody starts out perfectly..i know i didnt

  • @Saph58 ya i know and understand that... but ppl should be a little more safe and careful about learning how to... and not teach themselves... its causes accidence's...

  • Comment removed

  • @tucker72100 REALLY you have no right to do that and her legs aren't flapping in the wind jerk

  • @tucker72100 Hahaha jesus if she wanted to b a pro she would go take lessons!!! but i do agree on the chari thing id play it safe and not use it lol!!

  • @tucker72100 Hahaha jesus if she wanted to b a pro she would go take lessons!!! but i do agree on the chair thing id play it safe and not use it lol!!

  • @tucker72100 uhhhh whhyyyy???? this comment is soooo unnessesary! shes obviously not doing a show, so who cares? its not like shes being judged and the horse doesnt seem to annoyed so i'd just let it go. Grrrr. why do people have to critisize some fun???

  • @Juniorpetpro why is it unnessesary? because I called her out on doing something really dangerous - using a chair as a jump standard, and riding out of control? that could result in a bad riding accident?

and criticizing fun - its only fun and games until someone gets hurt... she has to be more careful and think about what she is doing before an accident happens...

  • @tucker72100 The lawn chair fell down! The horse didnt split the pole so im not to concerned! It doesnt look too bad to me and Ive been riding since I was four, Ive done rdiculous stuff with my horses and she doesnt seem to out of control! Her stides coming in are collected and calm and so are those leaving the jump. the description says shes gonna get proper standards, I think its fine to do. I showed this to my coach and she said that its not great but its do-able

  • @Juniorpetpro .... thats great that you have been riding that long and made it a passion in your life... so have many riders have been riding for that long, and have done unique things with their ponies/horses at one time or another - All of us!!! But there comes a time in your riding career, hobby, sport, etc. that a rider knows how to ride safe and not do odd stuff...

  • @Juniorpetpro and of course your coach is going to say its do-able, any coach would - you do what you can with what you have - but sometimes its not right or safe in any means or ways you look at it... she said she was a barrel racer... put the barrels on their sides and use a blocks of wood to chalk the barrel - to prevent it from rolling away and put a rail on top... its making use of what you have and is safe.

And the standard thing, she didnt mention it until after I posted my 1st comment.

  • @tucker72100 this is true^

The barrels though are standard 3.5 feet high or on its side only 1 foot, and i would think that she'd like inbetween, So I think that this is one of the best things she could've done with what she had. maybe it would be better if she turned the chairs in the other direction. then they would slip off.

  • @tucker72100 i hate people like you.. you like to take the fun out of everything

  • @kristian0gallops that's fantastic!!! And I hate people who use REALLY unsafe objects as jump standards to "teach" their horse to jump... and accident waiting to happen... so sorry taking the fun out of a accident waiting to happen... my fault! Sorry....

  • @tucker72100 oh get over it she was doing it for fun she said she rides western i do western and she did fine because it was FOR FUN

  • @tucker72100 hes in a western saddle you don't need to move your body forwards, your legs swing anyway you cuntface. get a job.

  • @tucker72100 people like you really piss me off criticizing people on youtube trying to show their progress and talent for horses and you come along and try to be all "cool" and acting like you are grandprix material that know everything about riding... i mean its one thing to help someone with flaws but another to question someones horsemanship and making them seem like complete idiot. this person does need more practice but that is all judjment calls for them so... thats all i have to say.

  • @horsescanter tucker72100 might have said it rude, but he's right... Both rider and horse are unexperienced in jumping, witch makes a very dangerous situation. Plus she isn't wearing a helmet, doesn't have the right sadle or jumping material.... she'd better just stick to western

  • Urmm i spose your good but i dont really think you should be jumping in a western saddle you will accive alot more with an english jumping saddle welldone anywayss :L

  • i think this is good:) welldone for trying, but i dont agree with jumping in westen saddles, that might be why your horse struggled, i can hurt there back. im giving constructive critasism:} sorry i tryd to make it nicee :)xx

  • its not the best to jump a horse in a western saddle, it could hurt their back. but pretty good jump in a western saddle!

  • lol my friend was riding western and she forgot that she had a western saddle on :P and when she jumped she got a bloody nose

  • Oh and by the way if you jump in a western saddle you could break the horses back

  • I totally agree with cassie2332 This isn't a smart choice/thing to do with your horse.

  • haters leave her alone!! geez.... yea im talking to you QHsRpretty,Hope4Heig if monty is in good health he will have no trouble going over....plus its on ly for fun! i jump western as well and my horse has not one problem.

  • sweet!

  • Really, I don't believe that you are ten and already swearing. By the way something that is easy to you is not always easy to others. Wow, people on here are harsh. I am sure that half of you people saying that it is so easy haven't even done it. And you you shouldn't be so rude and quick to comment. She knows her horse, if it is in the right health it will have no problem doing the jump. By the way their are alot higher jumps that are set up as doubles so I dont think you should be name callin

  • @molzymoo1 i'll tell ya this much, i believe that ur 10 years old.

  • @cinch920 just telling u the truth and i have done that on my 13:2hh so there

  • @molzymoo1 actually people...you shouldn't do thin in western saddle...that can be painfull...atleast...i tried once...and it's more comfortable with english style showjumping saddle

  • @molzymoo1 10 And swearing? You shoulden't jump in a western saddle... Im not going to argue with a 10 year old. All I can say. :P

  • @molzymoo1 hmm i thought toddlers couldnt say shit. and if 2 and a half feet on 13.2hh pony is easy, there is something seriously wrong with your saddle or position. trust me, ive done it. and i actually jump...

  • @molzymoo1 if ur 10 dont curse crazy ill tell u im older than you by ......yrs and i think that cursing is gross and noone should do it anyways and are u even aloud to have a utube channel when ur that age??

  • I know there are a lot of haters out there and your just trying to have fun, but if your going anything over 2 ft, you really shouldn't use a western saddle. I'm not trying to ruin the fun or criticize or anything, its just that when your jumping in a western saddle, you can't get in the right 2-point position you need to be in. Also, the stirrups won't be in the right place and the weight and bulk of the saddle is probably giving your horse a hard time. You don't necessarily need an english

  • saddle either. You can go bareback! Much easier to get your horse used to jumping :) Have fun.

  • If you are gonna jump, buy a proper saddle, it will be more comfortable for you and Monty, if you bought a cross-country close contact saddle. Maybe some proper jumps will be easier to jump with too, I dont mean to be rude. I just want to give suggestions and help out a fellow horse rider.

  • look you all.. jumping in a western saddle is just for fun. so if your gonna be hateful buzz off mkay(: & keep your perfect selves out of it :D

  • wow lol your awesome i loved that first jump! jumped like a deer\!

  • that does not look comfortable i prefer english saddle to be honest

  • ok ok ok listen people! people who say jumping ina western saddle is soo bad for the horse, it hurts t he horse, its too heavy! seriously i knwo lots of poeple who jump western just as high as her and guess what their horses are just fine! and as long as ur sure youre not going too high for yourself u probab;y wont fal off and get horned! so once again jumping western does not hurt the horse!!!!

  • Thats too high too be jumping in a western saddle, at least rap his legs if your gonna jump.

  • are you trying to kill your horse???? don't jump that high in a western saddle!! poor horse! p.s. you need to work on your posture. you'll unbalance the horse and you and the horse will fall.

  • your horse doesn't know how to jump. deer jumps are bad. he'll get hurt if you keep letting him jump like that:~/

  • shut up! the horse seems to have fun, and that's the main thing :) if her horse got hurt because of the saddle he wouldn't jump so well and enthusiastic. good job :) i love it :)
