NVIDIA doesn't lie when they say they have the best graphics cards, for my graphics card I wouldn't even know where to start for checking the core clock seeing its a integrated motherboard/graphics card and almost custom but, then again its practically strictly a OEM type.

On the GTX 285 it's up to 51,8 billion TFR per second right? The GTX 285 is the next best card okay. But then the GTX 295 has up to 92.2 billion TFR per second!! Thats almost the double! And The memory size goes from 1024 to 1792.

The number of mHZ don't tell you how fast a card is. A lot of considerations need to be taken such as the number of stream processors and so on. It's not that simple.

Pentium D and Core 2 processors are based on this socket 775 technology. The PCI Bus however, is what tells someone what Video Display Adapters are compatible.
