  • runescape music?

  • hey, my newest video is about Roman playwright Seneca! check it out!

  • Rome must have been sooooo impressive.

I think that even if we, modern tech man, would travel to that ancient city, our jaw would simply drop open.

I can imagine it must have been very overwhelming to stand there in the heart of Rome, surrounded by shiny marble buildings of huge proportions. When looking at what these folks accomplished, it's not at all surprising that they ruled half the world for 500 years. That empire housed a bunch of geniuses man...

  • i can climb the pantheon like Ezio Auditore di Firenze

  • its funny, my social studies teacher's name is Mrs. Roman and we just started learning about ancient rome. lol

  • @freak777power You're right, it was the code of Hammurabi. However, Roman law is still the most influencial code of laws to this day.

  • @Bendigo6000

    >Roman law is still the most influencial

    > code of laws to this day

actually, that's the Justinian code of laws, prepared in, um, in Eastern Roman empire, usually reffered as Byzantium.

    -.

  • yeah no shit,,anglo-saxons copied rome and greece.

  • That's to a guy supastar that really annoyed me. First time I've ever posted on youtube!

  • You're most likely from the USA.So you know no history, especially ancient history cause you're spawned from Europeans but forget where you came from! Who's Empire? When you say "I find their empire a lot like ours today" what you mean?Idiot. USA?Or are you just a retard from somewhere else?Actually if you're USA don't answer because it'll be a retarded reply! 2 families in the UK are out of 5 that own the U.S federal reserve so I suppose there is still an Empire today!not the usa though!

  • @Vimto99

Ah, you ok, there? Interesting to see an old colonialist giving advice to a newer colonialist.

As for us all, the rest of humanity..., well, you know the rules: colonialism is for the dustbin of history.

  • @EricMetalGuitarist Dude, the Romans prided themselves on their albility to adapt and aquire new arts and technologies. (just look at their gods) You're not downplaying them at all.

  • @123DROCK Not to downplay the achievements of the Romans, who invented many great things such as the aqueduct and concrete, but the Romans were certainly keen on borrowing technologies from the ancient Greeks, who they admired, and even the Celts, who they considered barbaric. For example, the use of chain mail armor for legionaries was adopted from the Celts, mechanical cranes for building were borrowed from the Greeks, and even the standard Roman sword came from Iberia (gladius hispaniensis).

  • lau

  • can you please tell me where you got this music from?

  • @iamhass The music was produced in our company ,is not for sale.

  • Comment removed

  • @123DROCK look at the human achievements sword and a shield how's that any better than a Celt, how are Germanic, Celtics Barberous in comparison to some small family who ruled Rome. Imagine the human achievement if Rome didn't whipe everyone out? would we care about Jesus. You ever wonder why the world revolves around a desert landscape in the middle east?

  • Comment removed

  • @123DROCK How can Rome invent roads when Celts were their before Rome were even republic? I tell you how ancient rome became so great they coppied everyone so unique they coppied the Chariot, lance the Roads and Calandar solar year, from the Celts, didn't perfect till the 16th CE upon every other known civilisation they conquered all Great Known Civilisations Dacia, Etruscans, Carthage, Persia. Destroyed and Built on top of all, Who's fault is it since the Aztecs? Italy was useless in WWII hah

  • @123DROCK The French are the Franks, they are Germanic like lombards. Saxons, Goths, Vandals, Normans, Vikings, they are Germanic. French may be a latin language but they are Germanic people from Germania, like Slavs is Russia, Poland, Ukrain etc. Same as Celts are Scots, Ireland, Welsh etc understand the term Germanic?

  • @jaidalta Shut up troll

  • Rome had filter water wow Rome you did a number on the earth

  • if rome used more cavalry in their army instead of infantry like legionaries and centurions, according to how strong their battle effectiveness was, they would have conquered the whole eurasia continent.

  • i love italia

  • The most beautiful city the planet Earth has ever had.

  • buon video. E 'davvero un peccato che l'impero romano è stato perso. Perché era una civiliation molto bello, e alcune bellissime creazioni hanno fatto. :) Grandine Romani impero :D

  • Wonderful! My students will love this! Thank you for sharing your passion!

  • @MrMysticus1 Ave romans ... :))

  • funny you put all the spledid and beauty into it but ancient rome wasnt great, maybe for Emperors themselves but not for you plebians. Women had no rights, Women were aloud to be raped. I can't believe you can appreciate such savage barbaric ways. Filthiest of all Civilisations that Catholicism still stands today. Makes me want to puke.;) God help you!

  • @jaifalta wow.. all i can say is wow. you must really hate any kind of other culture...andBTW none of that is true so check your facts before you make a retarded post about one of the greatest civilizations of ALL TIME!!!

  • @ididnotsignin, fuck mate there's many movies on Rome, your best mate Caligula and haliogalabus (dressed as a woman) all them other deranged emperors like Nero, a small ruling family your inspired by? Only three come to mind giving Rome its greatness, "Julius Anthony and Octavian", but all that expansion they did until Germanic conquered Europe Bring back Germanic Europe anytime and I'm not talking about Nazi Germany... That was Rome all the WAY

  • @ididnotsignin I'm talking about Empire of the West who were Germanic and before that it was Celts. What culture didn't rome destroy? If you think outside rome you might learn something new, watch "Terry Jones" he'll tell you different story to Rome. Your either Italian, or preach something they taught you in school because It wasn't one of the greatest civilisation, Catholics religion is Judaic anyway. You belong to the 's middle east. Haha, Byzantine Empire, that's as Roman as you'll get it

  • Maybe one day in the future, super computers will be able to develop simulated realities that we can visit and will allow us to walk through and experience Ancient Rome.

  • @supastar117 someday we might, when the time machine comes true.

  • @supastar117 u never know

  • @supastar117 Maybe not physically but there are other ways

  • What a beautiful, advanced civilization.

  • @darklord4878,

There only showing a small part of Rome. For just about everybody, Rome sucked. Have you ever seen any Mad Max movies or other post-apocalyptic films? In ancient Rome, people actually lived that way! Bartertown on Mad Max 3 was more civilized than most of Ancient Roman territory.

  • @Drregaleagle,

I'm sorry for the typo. I used the wrong word. I should have said "They're[not there] only showing a small part of Rome".

  • You just got to love the constant infightings between silly people these days about who's ancestors did this, did that, mostly resolving around who's better and so on, trying to embarrase or belittle your hated rivals. This mostly happens, I have found, between people trying to compensate for a lack of current status that they look into the past, as if it matters now.

  • Roma Caput Mundi.

01 ) Roman Law was the first legal system of the History.

Roman Law is to the basis of Western Law.

02 ) Roman Roads ? The basis of modern Roads.

    03 ) State Roman ? 2.214 Years

    Roma Caput Mundi.

  • @xTribunusMilitumx,

Hammurabi and Moses have Rome beat by miles in terms of both age and morality. At least Moses demanded witnesses to trivial infractions before execution.

Roman Law is not the basis of Western Law. English common law is the basis of Western Law from King Alfred. The Semetic Bible also had a major impact on Western Law.

  • @xTribunusMilitumx

Roman Law was not the first legal system of the History.

  • come to caesarus in rome, viminale street, near termini station, come to ancient rome disco pub

  • italian culture is one big and bad copy from greek culture...

  • @GreeceCombination are you sure of this???? the ancient rome, the medieval italy and the reneissance italy ( reneissance born in italy, you know that?) are more more more more important than greek history..... greece is famous just for the ancient history, italy for all its history.... ;)

  • @stefanologan2008 yeaa honey i am sure if we didn't exist your country would have nothing the ancient romes paid ancient greeks to bild this...almost all rome was build by ancient greeks the ancient romes copyed us...

  • @GreeceCombination yes.... rome has copyed some things from greece..... but just some things....;)

  • @stefanologan2008 honey you must learn that this is greek act

and the 12 gods was 100% greek religion...

but the ancient romans had good relashion with greeks but the greek art and cultrure was first greek..

  • @GreeceCombination yes, but don't forgot that before rome become an empire was habited to etruschi and sabini.... they had created so many cities in italy..... but, I don't said that greece is bad ( i love greek history) but, Rome ( and italy generally) has much more history than greece.... but, is true that rome is similar at greece ( architecture, gods) ..... this is true ;)

  • @stefanologan2008 Rome was very similar to greece because they adopted greek architercutre and mixed Roman architecture into it.

  • Rome...caput mundi.

Consider the Universe like a great Man....Rome is the head, the mind of that man, thats why is said "caput mundi" which means head of the Universe.

  • Ah, you haughty Rome...

  • Oh my God

  • When one looks at this video and understands the history, it is obvious that Rome was the foundation for the modern world.

We do owe homage to Rome for that.

  • Magnificent.

  • which Roma thee were a few Romas and the one that could be called caput mundi is not the one you are thinking about

  • Amazing! Bravo for you guys! You guys should also write up a guide book showcasing all of Romes' ancient monuments in 3D! A similiar project for Constantinople was made by a Turkish company. If you guys ever publish one I'll definitely buy it!

  • Amazing!

  • I miss Roma I went 2 months ago

  • Rome is amazing, I find their empire a lot like ours today. I mean look at their buildings, they had schools, money, an army all sorts I would laugh so hard if the collisuim arena was just a foot ball stadium. But no I'm serious Rome is very interesting to look into.

  • @sum41fanTC football stadiums are modeled after arenas :D football players are modern gladiators, except with way more percs obviously, they're not slaves, but gladiators were as much a business as football players are

  • @sum41fanTC Well of course, we are the descendants of the roman empire. Everything from how we build our homes, where we gather to socialize, what are our moral valors , our interest in medicine and science is all in direct relation with the roman civilization. That being said i am proud to have Romans as my ancestors, and going to Rome and seeing The Pantheon basically unchanged even after all the violent history since it has been built, stands proud and proof of the roman empire legacy.

  • @sum41fanTC

I think Rome really built the world it is today. They were so advanced in every way possible.

  • @sum41fanTC

Thats a joke I hope...I mean we are living in Roman civilization today. Roads, construction techniques, actually life in general is what it is today because of the roman empire. They even invented concrete, pioneered firing bricks and invented plumbing and plumbed toilets! It is no coincidence that you see a similarity, its similar because its the same. If the Romans had invented football, i'm sure they would have played that in the Coloseum too! lol

  • Wonderful

  • Fascinating how such a sophisticated and advanced society could also be so savage, violent and brutal. They invented the rule of law as we know it, yet they were the first to use industrial manslaughter for fun in the form of the most violent and bloody "games" ever known.

  • Very interesting.

  • Cool stuff! It's nice to see what Rome looked like in COLOR! Though some of the roof beams look like they were copied from Persian palace roofs.

  • I've bought your DVD on ancient Rome. It's great, yet I hope to see some improvement in the future, like more interactivity. It would be fine if you could not only decide where to walk, but also where to look, like in some modern videogames. Anyohow, compliments. Your work seems spectacular and scientific.

  • THANK YOU :-) GRAZIE

  • Magnific!

Ancient Rome was the greatest civilization of the History.

See my video ,it´s about Ancient Rome too...

  • belli........ SPQR

  • SPQR

  • wouldn't it have been fascinating to live in the time of the Roman Empire during the Pax Romona?

  • It's spelled Pax Romana :)

  • ignorant nero rebuilt rome using marmor but it was only the temples copied from the greeks, but you better continue thinking thast romans lived in marmor and attended veery day gladiators shows like holliwood taught you

  • who are you talking to????

  • What song was used?

  • who would live in a marble house? it's freezing in rome in winter, and it was also 2000 years ago

  • As I understand, Octavian was envious of Alexandria and was determined to rebuild Rome with marble whenever possible.

But my reading has only got me to him being renamed Augustus thus far. Not at Nero yet.

It is truly a fascinating study, eh?

  • Actually, central Italy is rather temperate. In January the average low is 37 degrees F with the average high well into the 50's.

  • rome was made of wood so this is bullshit

  • do you even know one TRUE thing about Rome??? No?? that's what i thought...

  • REBUILD REBUILD REBUILD

  • could you do this with Pompeii?

  • thats why rome has been the capital of europe untill 1900s . but id hate to say it rome copy's buildings and religions. the etruscans taught then everything you see in rome. eventualy rome copy's and kick all the tribes out

  • The greatest nation ever to live. I cannot imagine how proud Romans of today must be of their beautiful city, rightfuly so.

  • Rome was the best empire ever.

  • city of marble toppled by barbarians = /

  • we were a great civilization when the british lived into the caverns ad eated with the hands...

  • @blostier My father is roman. :) and i hate all the people who conquered the roman empire. italy could be the most technological advanced country today.....

  • @sweetrottweiler

    > italy could be the most technological

    > advanced country today...

It was, for a time. That is what the Renaisceance was about. This became possible after Venice established a colonial relation with, um, with the eastern Roman empire, i.e. Byzantium. Thus, Byzantium lost cultural and political hegemony in favor of the West.

    -.

  • PEDICABO EGO VOS ET IRRUMABO.

    CATULLI

  • yeah fucking barbarian gaylords

  • Fantastic

  • Great video. Really informative. Thanks.

  • Amazing!

  • Wonderful, and very scientific. It's the first time I saw in such details Nero's Domus Aurea. Thank you.
