Modest Mouse breaks out in the Pacific Northwest what, an hour from the guys who form Death Cab 4 years later, have a wack of songs that sound the same and there's no connection? Yea, right. Champagne From A Paper Cup could literally be a Modest Mouse song and anyone who didn't already know the difference would totally buy it.

@indiefan23 c'mon, i hardly think 'The Moon and Antarctica' and 'Transatlanticism' sound remotely the same, notwithstanding the completely different vocal styles. MM are generally much more eclectic and adventurous, albeit a bit less melodic, than Death Cab.

He has never let me down musically.

Even though plans was my least favorite album of death cab's,this song was clearly the highlight,as commercial as it might be,it's impossible to ignore the lyrical warmth and pure love he put into it.

its kinda hard to explain, but its something like bass note, scrape, 2nd, 3rd (strings), scrape, 2nd string, then next chord same thing.thats for the chorus at least. the verse goes 5th, scrape, 2nd, 6th, scrape, 2nd. etc... see how that works out and let me know.
