This is the saddest episode ever. Its so quite, but it explodes with sadness. It was so real, it made me cry. I was hoping it was just a bad dream. Also with Tara, Willow was so sad. :( Anyway, good video.
Whoever disliked this has absolutely no heart. Must have been some emotionless, immortal robot that doesn't cry. I'm a grown man and I shed a tear for Buffy and Joyce. Heart-breaking episode that should have gotten Buffy a 2nd Emmy. Their 1st was for the episode "Hush"
The thing I love about this episode is that Buffy isnt just bursting out in tears when she first see's her mum lying on the couch, shes got her eyes wide open just hoping its a dream, such great acting!!!!
I almost couldn't watch this episode. I was crying so hard and imagined the same thing happening to me. This video is amazing amazing amazing! It brings out all the feelings.
This is a really good video. But I'm never watching it again because it makes me sad. This is probably one of the best vids I've ever seen, you edited it so beautifully and seamlessly, it was like we were getting a look into what Buffy was thinking of when she found the body (the reassurances, the hope, etc,) and then a look at what was going on with her when she suddenly realised all that hope was for nothing and her mother was dead. Very well done.
the body is critically acclaimed. it is regarded as one of the best episodes of any series, on tv. it's just so full of real emotion. the lack of music just shows what an amazing series this was, and the realistic acting shows a level of control that most actors/actresses could never hope to achieve.
@Zakith21 You are totally right, this was the first and last time I felt like I was there and it still (although not sure if its a good thing) haunts me to this day.
Their immediate reaction to the death was very realistic and well done but the fact that Buffy and Dawn were just fine about it after a couple of episodes... well wasn't. Those of us who've lost a parent know that months and years can go by and it's never the same. I get that Joyce wasn't a main character and this show was more about the supernatural than their family life but the fact is that TV never portraits the aftermath of death realistically because that'd be way too depressing.
This whole story just breaks my heart... I wish I could say I cried, but I just... didn't. I didn't really do anything. I couldn't figure out an emotional response, I couldn't wrap my head around it. There was just no way I would understand what they were all feeling.
I think my favorite bit in this episode was when Buffy first says "the body," then just loses it... And Giles runs up and hugs her and she doesn't even register it. So sad. </3
to describe my feelings when i first watched this epsiode it felt like someone ripped my heart out and stomped on it. i still cry when i think about it. awsome vid thank you.

@rushontherun shes dies in season 5 episode 16 The Body. The saddest episode ever made. I always, always cry on this episode and i have seen it a LOT of times :)
i havent watched this ep yet but i have to say its a great video had me in tears and i say SMG did a GREAT job of acting it as ive lost sevral close people in my life already and im only 12 and i love watching buffy cuz u can really conect with thw charicters
This was a brilliantly acted episode and what i like about this episode is that it captured so well what its like when you lose a loved one ,the surrealism of it all the limbo state you go through and the loss and sadness.
Oh bloody hell this is terrific! As terrible and beautiful as the episode itself, u really kept the essence of reality. I don't know how i managed to watch it as a younger girl, it's such a punch-to-the-guts episode geez..
@brunettespacecadet99 OMG thank you so much for ur comment it means a lot. sorry it has taken me so ling to respind to ur comment, but thank you for watching :)

This video is so good! Congrats!
I love how you added an echo effect when Buffy says "Mommy?", it made it even more haunting.

This video is well done but it ruins the point of the first scene. Raw emotion no music, just Buffy and this terrible event
