  • i'm not sure that this trap with string will work, but the other videos that you posted, like the OLD ENGLISH CRIBBETT TRAP will definitely work,so ... thanks for posting it. I'l try to catch a pheasant with the cribbett trap this winter, cause i have a lot of them in my back yard, i'l also try to catch some wild ducks, cause i have a lot of them as well but i'm not sure i will. But thanks for posting

  • I remember reading about this method in Roald Dahl's book called Boy. They also used a method for pheasants where paper cones lined with double sided tape are pushed into the ground and corn dropped into the cones. They stick to the pheasants head and blind it when it eats the corn.

  • Wow ..... is a pheasant really that .....ermmmm dumb ??? Lov ur traps though ....aint goin to go hungry with u around in the forest

  • @ahsew pheasants are so stupid its unbelievable.

  • That is so fucking crul

  • I may be wrong and I don't mean to criticise but I vaguely remember this ethod as being illegal. Is it? Again. I may be wrong.

  • How long did you say to make the string? It sounded like you said 40 feet long, but it lookes to be about 8 feet long. It's a genius of a trick! You must have a working knowledge of these birds! Wonderful Video!

  • cheers Fella,

  • trap dident work

  • nice

  • does this work better than arapuca? it must work with partridge aswell then...what if the bird starts eating from the middle? dont think its likely it will continue to swallow.

  • everyone keeps yapping on about humanity ,,maybe we should start looking after each other a little bit better ,,animals get eaten alive every second of everyday this is no more that bad tooth ache then they get killed outright ,why do people think we need to stroke a chicken before we pull its head off ,,animals insects fish they all get swallowed whole and die by drowning in stomach acids and you complain about a bit of fucking string

  • what time of year is beast for catching pheasants like this ,,love you vids and fuck anyone who slates you ,,there are 6 billion people on this planet thats six billion opinions ,,do your own thing and fuck everyone else

  • nice one.

    -edu-

    philippines

  • Great video.

  • your all bitches i once caught chuck norris in a cage trap a baited it with nun chucks

  • U see we get all these ass holes complaining about animal cruelty and shot when they get meat through slaughter houses where say I shot a rabbit in the head atleast it doesn't bleed out to death and stop searching animal traps if you don't like them

  • If indeed the "Great Electric Experiment" ever does end I daresay all the naysayers would like to be sitting around your fire waiting for a bit of roast pheasant. Good video. Excellent trap. This is a "real" survival tool.

  • great i will try this same :P:) 5* \m/ like it

  • i get the idea of the trap but how does the pheasant stay attached to the line after he has swollowed the bait

  • I saw a domestic rat trap in the shops. its just a big heavy duty mouse trap. could you bait it with corn and snap a pheasents neck and catch one like that

  • Fuck ads.

  • by the way if u dont mind me asking but, what do you do for a living to be able to afford such cool stuff?

  • awesome man

  • this is the best trap ever invented it works perfectly and i personally have never seen it fail! F**K anyone who says otherwise this trap is GUARANTEED to work every military in the world uses this same technique to teach there troops how to catch game

  • lol so many ppl saying its a cruel trap but its know different then fishing really

  • not a very humane trap :p

  • good to have you back buddy, awsomes trap as aways i got some perfect traps made to nail.................

  • I hope you point out to your 'students of survival' that pheasants are farmed game birds, they only exist in the UK because hunting pays to breed and protect them. On the flip side they are game birds, so if you hunt them without permission the law calls that poaching and you can lose everything the law deems to be part of your poaching gear, which can include your car. I hope you have the landowners permission and advise your 'students' likewise?

  • right listen @Iwillkilleverything2 you sound like a proper wanker no one wants your comments go suk your nan

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 plenty of true wild pheasants around and who gves a shit what the landowner thinks?bunch of corporate parasites any way

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 look at your fucking name dweeb and he has a job your just jealous he has more down time than u and if u were stranded u would probably starve u fucking trolling moron and dont respond your blocked

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 i do have a job and who ever said i use these traps ,what you seem to forget is that in a true life or death survival situation you will NOT be arrested for eating a pheasant after i finsh the videos i dismantle all traps ok

  • @johnjayrambo11111 i dont know why you should take the traps away they probebly work perfekt but well this one maby was a little to broutal

  • @johnjayrambo11111 Thats true mate, and at the end of the day, even if you happen to 'Find' a pheasant, you wont get arrested for taking it. once a pheasant, deer or other wild animal is dead its finders keepers. nobody can touch you for it. even if the gamekeeper sees you walking around with it.

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 your a fucking idiot ,,if more people lived this way the world would be a better place ,,but i suppose you shop at fucking waitrose ,,and dipose of 2 tonnes of packaging every year ,,,get out of your bubble and learn about real life ,,,oh by the way did i remember to tell you to fuck off ,,oh i didnt ,,well here goes FUCK YOU

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 You are a dick.

  • @Iwillkilleverything2

You seem to have an awful lot of spare time on your hands, I guess you don't have a job? So instead you patronize others and string together some pointless words, or prejudge people indiscriminately, some that may even be real people. Some of your words appear totally simpleminded and liable to cause unnecessary annoyance to whatever unfortunate human gets caught in them. Hope I never find you practicing your crap in my neck of the woods.

  • @rockanimal59 nor mine what a trolling wanker eh?

  • @Iwillkilleverything2

How naive of you to think that he's doing more harm to wild animals than you are. Every time you go to work, you contribute to the progress of modern society and probably destroy an entire forest for each day of work you do. What he's doing is actually contributing to our understanding and thus, our will to conserve and protect wildlife. Jobs like yours, totally alienating people from nature, indirectly cause wildlife extinctions.

  • @pkryane6 How naive of you, I walk to work.

Understand this if you like game birds...

Emtryl - the one that escaped an EU-wide ban In 1996, the UK Government managed to avert an outright ban on the drug Emtryl. UKEPRA NEWS, an egg industry publication, reported that the UK's Veterinary Medicines Directorate 'is adamant that a safe administration level can be set for Emtryl and that the ban was never justified'. The EU-wide ban (for all except gamebirds) .........

  • ...came about following concern that no safe maximum residue limit in the meat of animals

treated with Emtryl could be set. The active ingredient of Emtryl is dimetridazole. Now, an absurd situation exists where the potential dangers from dimetridazole residues are recognised except in gamebirds.

  • ...The hazards were indicated in a Veterinary Record report: 'Milk from another dairy was withdrawn from the food chain when dairy cows broke into a pheasant release pen and were exposed to the gamebird ration containing dimetridazole.

Do you really know what you are eating? Of course you do, good, fresh, healthy meat with no nasty chemicals like the stuff you get in supermarkets. Google 'Emtryl pheasant', don't just take my word for it. Why should I tell you?

    Enjoy your cancer retard

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 Pheasants at this stage in their life are un-medicated, they are medicated when they are poults (0 - 6weeks) on the rearing field if they need it, their systems are given time to clear out before they are released, the most they get at this stage is the occaisional Vitamin supplement. I cant speak for all gamekeepers, but i did work on a rearing field for 3 years and I can assure you, you could eat the pheasants the day after we released them and not be harmed.

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 Please! Forgive us! Your highness!

Shall we be hung or beheaded for this despicable crime?? perhaps we shall face 50 lashes of the 'Cat o' nine tail's' for fishing the masters' salmon or shall we have our hands cut off for poaching his lordship's deer?

If you ARE one of the silver spoon society.....take a breath, spit it out, and join the real world rather than sit there and comment from upon your high-horse.

I have no time for that kind of shit.

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 I find it ironic someone commenting about killing wild animals indiscriminately when their own username is very indiscriminate. Whats a matter, woke up this morning with a dick up your ass?

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 Pay your taxes you ..! and follow the draconian right wing orwellian policies. Land ownership what a joke

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 says the one with which name?

  • @Iwillkilleverything2 First, Your name is "I will kill everything"...and you're acting like a member of PETA...REALLY?! Second, The only time I personally would consider using a trap like this one is if my life were on the line. In that situation, I would do whatever it took to survive and while I was eating a freshly killed pheasant, you could waste energy picketing with your PETA signs and starve your ass to death.

  • Nasty dude... but effective.

  • put a hook on the end lol

  • I live right across from the caribo gun club and thats where they release pheasants and than you go find them with a dog.

some times they make there way to my house so this is perfect for me. nice work! does this work in winter?

  • Lovely old poachers skill. Thank you for reminding me of it.

  • Great video, how about fishing line? does that get the job done?

  • um i realy need to now cause on my mates land he has a peacock problem and they eat all the potatos and stuff so would this wurk for them?

  • Very simple and effective trap. Thanks again for sharing the information!!

  • nasty lol

  • good trap but like what a horrible way to die

  • Yea think I'd save this one for an emergancy.

Its brutal but your going to exert very little time and energy doing it. If you had 100 foot of string you could make like 20 spread them over quite a large area.

  • Nice! I'm gonna try this. Have u seen the pheasant trap that is a steel cone with a small hole in the bottom? U fill the cone with corn/maize,the bird eats all the seed & gets it's neck caught in the hole of the cone??

  • they do this too with bears but use an oil drum. Fill the drum with meat bear puts his head in and cant get it out ... pretty harsh tbh but gets the job done

  • i also made a grouse trap with a couple old pipes, about as big around as a cantalope, and put chicken wire at the end and used corn and cought a couple of birds.

  • i did this with small fishin hooks, with montafilament fishing line, up in the UP of michigan and cought a couple grouse, but had to go threw like 10 differnt birds like grackles and cowbird, but it does work very well,

  • sounds like a good one mate, thanks for the vid

  • isent it iligal in england to trap pheasents?

  • i think so but we also have a saying in BRITAIN "what he eye cant see, the heart cant grieve"!

  • i no the difrence between england and britian

but thank you and i like the saying

  • awsome trap and fish hooks ouch but but fave and 5*

  • Cool trap. Seems that it would be very effective.

  • great trap.

remember learning in history class about gypsies in the middle ages using this to catch farm chickens...

  • gypsies stole chickens from my dads farm when he was a kid

    lol

  • This is an awesome trap Malc. So easy. So simple! Love it man!

  • thanks ed

  • Damn-it-man! This trap will work on my fat neighbor too...lol... I would use a strong rope and a box of doughnuts and his fat ass will be caught in no time.

  • LOL...you must live a few doors away from me...I have similar thoughts about my creepy neighbors too..haha

  • Maybe so. It's the guy who last week got his big ass stuck between the Golden Arches at McDonalds. They called 911 and they had to grease his thighs and wiggle a Twinkie in front of his nose to get him unstuck!

  • Damn, bud! you've got a great sense of humor!

  • lmfao

  • great trap malc. the first time Ive seen that one,5/5

    thanks

    M

  • nice one Malc 5/5

  • can u use this 2 trap pigeons

  • rite this trap works on the base's of ,, the birds ingestes the corn and it swallows the string with chocks the brid and it will die and its pegged int he ground so it dont run away , FOR EVRRY ONE WHO WANTS TO NO

  • great video Malc, 5/5, and faved.

    Mike.

  • thanks man i dont know that pheasant is that stupid =P

  • how does it trap work i dont understand ??????????sorry

    tomo

  • all the string is tangled in the birds guts, it would probably kill it self before it gets away

  • because the pheasnt is a greedy bird it will wallow the string asweel as it goes along pecking the corn up.when it tries to get away it cant because the string is already tangle up in its guts.sometimes people put fishhooks on the string aswell to make sure the bird is caught

  • this is the eastest trap i've seen i've gotta go make it!!!!

  • sorry meant malc..

  • i have had sucsess with this method even catching grey squrills

  • cool

  • will other animals not eat this?

  • how would you put it out when its on the trap?

i would probably go in with a knife to mkae it quick and painless

  • So how would you kill the bird? I assume you would either whack it's head with a nearby stone or break its neck...

  • a live trap is always better, this ensures you always hav a source of fresh bird, which you can carry with you probably the best way is to ring its neck, put its head beween your feet and pull upwqards on its legs, its quick and you can still eat the head, rather than smash the head,

  • probaby hit it with a rock to stun it, then break its neck

  • First saw this on Ray Mears with the RAF survival training lol I can see the idea behind it but, I'm left wondering if it actually works!?!??

  • will fishing line work?

  • I think it would but it depends on what you are hunting.. =)

  • yeah it will he says it would in the last second of the vid

  • I'm assuming this would work for Grouse as well?

  • Another excellant old bird trap 5*

  • alright lets go fishing...

  • sup malcom , how u been brother ? i like the video, well done .the phasent trap is cool . 5 star and fav

  • Awesome, I was taught this idea by my uncle. except he used the fishing hooks, He told me only use them when you are in desperation mode (ie/ survival situation). 5/5 Great video as always my friend!!

    Ed

  • I could see homeless folks doing this with pigeons. Nasty critters... well the birds are nasty too.

  • illegal in my country!

    Ontario Canada

  • Totally, but in a survival situation all bets are off. You could improvise this in the bush with berries!! But, again only in a must need situation!!

    ED

  • you will go hungry then

  • ugly but effective

    your so mean!

    pass a drumstick mate.mmmm

  • yea, ive tried this method before works really well. nice vid to liked it

  • glad you liked it mark

  • Great video mate man that would be gruesome with fishing hooks.

  • oww...

  • im 7 viewer

  • no you are pagelock5
