cutting with the grain is a waste of time and can mess up the cut around the swirl at the crown of the head as well as the back cause hair goes in different directions. going AGAINST the grain actually saves time and does not mess waves up so thats a myth, i tell customers all the time

in my 16 years of being my own barber, i learned that cutting against the grain CAN enhance ya wave pattern! just have to use the right guard. dont use the guard u would use to go WITH to go AGAINST, use a higher one. u also gotta take into consideration LENGTH & GRADE of hair. Al, on this cut would it have made a difference if u jus went with the grain using the 1.5?

Black Ice is temporary. It's for photo shoots, special ocassions and lasts about 2-days without washing with soap. It won't run if it gets wet. It's basically man make-up!

Nah,it depends on the person's hair grade...if,you don't have a bad grade of hair it will stay in tact. I don't have any chemicals,and I don't brush my hair all day or use pomeade,and do-rags. My hair waves naturally,and I've cut my hair agtg,and my waves are still here.

Hi Al, nice cut! Just wondering have you ever used the oster size 18 skiptooth blade to cut against the grain of waves? I normally use those and get good results everytime i use them. Most of my customers prefer me to use them if I have to cut into their waves against the grain.
